I had a great day with Bella but I hate the fact Clara has to show up.

Now I know am going to face my parent’s wrath but I will just sort out Bella. Brenda should know what to do.

When I got home, sorting everything, mom came home so angry at me.

“Kyle when did you start failing your responsibility because of a maid.” She yelled.

“Mom she was lifeless on the road, should I let her die huh?” I yelled back.

“Are you the only good samaritan on the road, do you know the meeting with your father was more important than that wretched life.”

” Mom when did you become this heartless?” I got a slap from my mother.

“You don’t talk to your mother in that manner.” Mom said.

“I need to get some rest now mom, goodnight, we talk in the morning when your mood is better.” I said to her, went straight to my room without answering her even when she called.

Mom always provokes me whenever she is damn angry, I did what a reasonable human will do, helped someone who was dying, what could be wrong with that?

I went to shower to cool off myself and laid on my bed bringing out my phone checking the pictures of Bella that I took without her knowing. She is damn beautiful, I can’t believe I an admiring my maid, this just has to stop.

My phone started ringing and it was a call from Clara. I didn’t even bother to answer the phone call and that was the minute Theo’s message came in on WhatsApp.

“Who is the Cinderella you went out with, you never told me you got someone new and will be taking out for a date?”

I replied to him that I can’t chat now but when we see tomorrow after work we talk about it.

I thought of Bella all through before falling sleeping.

I woke up feeling so weak and tired, I could even do my early morning jogging as usual so I had to let my friend know.

After which I open the app on my phone about exercise and did a little work out in my room before having my bath.

I set the stuff Bella will be stamping for me immediately I return from work.

Coming out of my room to leave for work my mom stopped me.

“Son, you need to beg your father, you showed to everyone at the meeting that we failed as your parents to teach you about responsibility.” Mom said.

“Mom I didn’t. No one can predict what can take place the next second, besides I have never missed any important meeting before, dad should understand something came up and you should know it was unlike your son huh.” I said to mom.

“Just waiting for the stupid maid that made you forgot your training, I will deal with her so well and she will know never to come near someone that isn’t her class, will call her parents and with that, she will learn her lessons.” Mom started raising her voice.

She informed the maid to call her Bella.

“Mom enough please, what did she do wrong, she felt ill, whatever you wish to do to her don’t, instead why not face me okay, don’t hurt the innocent girl.” I pleaded with mom.

“If you are willing to take Clara out on a date, I will definitely let her be and let this pass by.” Mom insisted.

I can’t believe mom is using this as a yardstick for me to take Clara out. I can’t do that but seeing Bella’s presence already with a frightened look, though she looks very beautiful today.

I didn’t know when I agreed to mom and instead of shouting at her, mom just told her to treat herself when she is sick instead of bothering me with her issues and told her to go and resume her work.

“Lastly, you owe Clara an apology for bringing another girl out for dinner instead of her, I will talk to your dad when he gets back from the meeting he traveled for. For now, have a nice day and don’t even think of flirting with that maid.” Mom concluded her words and left.

I just look so weak and ran out of words, entered my baby, and drove off to work.

I apologized to everyone at work for not coming to the important meeting and explained to them the situation that came up, I was glad they were understanding and reasonable unlike my mother.

I was having lunch with Theo when I told him everything and mostly about Bella.

He kicked against it, “Even if you wish to flirt with her. She is your maid for goodness sake and why will you even take her out? You need to avoid her for I feel you are getting too attached to her and you might end up liking her.” He said and ate from his food.

“You know what Theo?” I said to him.

“What ‘best friend’?” He asked.

“Congratulations jerk, for sounding like my mother okay. She is kind of unique so I won’t let you belittle her just like that. End of her topic, mom wants me to take Clara outing, I gave mom my word just to avoid her from hurting the innocent girl.” I drank from the bottle water.

“Hum! I can’t believe you defending a maid and also helping her but since you are a man of your word, just take her outing and that’s all, it won’t kill you.” He said.

” I hate all this but I still have to do it, will call her on phone to know when I can take her out so I know…” I paused because I was about telling him about my plans in taking Bella to see a movie this weekend.

“Know what friend?” He asked

“Never mind, lets finish our meal.”

Driving home after everything, I parked my car and called Clara asking her when will she be chanced.

“Well am free on Saturday, lets go on Saturday”she said on the phone call.”© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

“But what of upper week, why this is Saturday?” I asked.

“Seems you not ready to make up with me about hurting me, maybe I should just call your mom.” She said.

“I remember I will be taking Bella to see a movie that Saturday. How am I going to do it now, should I tell Bella I’m no longer taking her or say no to Clara?” I argued within me.
