For crying out loud he has a Mate already who his demon side has chosen. His wife.

He has got to find out why he badly wants Elena to himself.

“Is it the love you have for my niece is the reason why you had saved us?” Jess asked the silent man.

“Maybe.” Demon replied, he wasn’t sure of the answer to give her. All he knows is that he wanted Elena safe and to find out why he has developed strong feelings for her.

Telling the old lady ‘Yes’ would mean a lot of things. What if by the end of his search he finds out Elena wasn’t really his soulmate or that what he feels for her isn’t love but lust? He doesn’t want to sound like a liar in the presence of the old woman hence his reply ‘Maybe’.

“I see.” Jess mused to herself as she regarded Demon slowly. “Do you still have plans to kill my niece in the near future?” She asked a surprised Demon with her sudden question.

“No, I won’t hurt her, I promise you this.” Demon was surprised by that quick answer he gave to the old lady. He didn’t even pause or think before opening his wide mouth.

“Alright, there is something you must know about us, Elena and I, about our kind. And since you saved our lives tonight, I will give you a chance for I see you are very pure in your heart and not evil. I know you keep to your words Chase that is why I am letting you in.” Jess told him, staring at her palm she stretched open.

Demon couldn’t say anything to her, the old woman did not lie about him keeping to his promises. He had promised his demon Mate before her untimely death that he would always make sure she stays by his side.

A promise he was trying to keep and not to fall in love with his next target.

“Well, I am a Manticore Creature and so is Elena.” Jess finally revealed the secret.

Demon eyes widen up in surprise. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“Excuse me?”

Elena a Manticore Creature? Is that why she could see the horns sprouting out of David’s head? Why then did she not smell his demon aura?

He pondered as he awaits for answers.

“Yeah, a Manticore Creature, Eva doesn’t know because she is not one. Elena powers will soon emerge as she has been chosen.”

Jess said with a low voice knowing fully well that he would hear her perfectly. “The reason why I am telling you this is because I foresee her life is in danger that is why the Ninja had attacked us tonight.” She added.

“No, they came for her because of me. I drew their attention to her when they saw how close I was to her. So they want to use her to get to me.” Demon told her.

“Listen you don’t know things like I do. Elena’s mother is the one behind the attack. She wants Elena dead at all cost.” Jess revealed.

“Why will she want her own daughter dead?” Demon asked in confusion. This is the first time he is hearing of a mother who wanted to kill her child.

“For powers. You see, the fire chooses Elena and she is the last.” Jess answered.

“The last what?” Demon demanded.

“The last generation the fire will choose. After her, there will be no one else who will be chosen. When Annabel heard this prophecy, that the powers she craved will end in any of her first child. She decided not to give birth, but destiny always has a role to play. She met Eremus and fell in love with him, with his money, I guess. The prophecy she heard faded away once she beheld him. I have to fill Eremus in and let him know everything. She became pregnant and her powers were gone, she felt weak during the months of the pregnancy that she was carried around by the guards. She tried to harm her child, Annabel did everything to get rid of her daughter but all proved abortive. She gave birth to Elena and since Eremus knew what was at stake, he had the little princess protected, as a matter of fact, I was the one protecting her. When Annabel realized she couldn’t kill her daughter, she fled away with a promise that she will be back for Elena. Ever since then, we haven’t set our eyes on her, but I know she is still out there in the dark, lurking, and waiting to strike when we least expected. What she failed to understand is that we have been preparing for her attack, we are just waiting for her to show us her face.” Jess concluded her long story.

“Her name sounds familiar like I have met someone who bears that name before. Annabel….” Demon said after a thought. “But, she is that desperate for powers?” He asked.

“Yes, not only that, she plans to rule and will not stop at nothing until she achieves her aim, that is why she needs her daughter’s powers, she will kill Elena to obtain the fire. She is my younger sister and I grew up with her, one thing I can assure you is Annabel is an evil genius.”

So am I.

Unknown Place:

A dark figure was seen moving around a dark building in speed until he entered through an open window.

“Where is the girl?” The Ninja man who seems to be the Ninja leader demanded of the Ninja who slipped through the window. He was the same man whom the Ninja lady had ordered to get Elena.

“We couldn’t take her, Demon interfered and killed all of our Ninja’s, master.” The other Ninja answered.

“Then how did you escape?”

“I didn’t join the fight, I was watching the fight in a hidden place, master.”

The echo of the slap was heard throughout the building.

“Do you know what she will do once she hears I didn’t bring the girl?”

The master asked in fury. “Everyone will be dead.”

“We could have captured the girl if Demon hadn’t interrupted the master.” The Ninja tried again and mention Demon’s name, ignoring the string of pain that accompanied the slap. His master probably didn’t hear him the first time when he said the son of a bitch name.

“Then capture him too, she needs both of them anyway. Bring the girl and Demon.” The man ordered him.

“Yes master.”

“Take the whole Ninja’s with you and bring them dead or alive as long as their body is with you, am I understood!”

“Yes master.” He smirked behind his veil as he moved with speed to summon the Ninja’s.

Can Demon fight off more than five hundred Ninja’s (500)?

He pondered in thoughts.

Only time will tell.

HIS SOULMATE, B:

Jess House:

Demon stood up from his feet.

“Thank you for letting me into your secret, I promise I will always protect Elena from harm,” Demon said. “I need to go back to my house.”

Interesting check on something and find out if truly Elena is his shadow chaser mate. And if eventually she is, then the plan has changed.

Getting up to her feet and smiling at the much older or ancient man before her. “I should be the one thanking you. You had a change of heart and instead of killing her like you were supposed to, you are helping us. Thank you.”

“Can I at least see Elena before going, please.”

“Of course. You know the room she’d entered, right?”

“Yes, thank you,” Demon said and walked towards the door he saw Elena entered a few minutes ago. He knocked on the door and turn the knob of the door which opened and he entered Elena’s room.

“I like your voice Julian,” Eva said with a smile, ignoring the noise she was hearing over in the background. He had told her he was in a club when he decided to call her.

“And I like yours too Eva, I wish to see your burnt face scar, you will look more beautiful in it, I am already picturing it in my head.” Julian said and he gulped the last beer in his cup. Eva had told him why she was wearing a mask when he asked.

Eva’s sweet laugh brought a smile to his face. He called the waitress who came and was trying to seduce him. She was very beautiful and has been trying to get his attention.

“How much is beer?”

She told him the amount and he paid.

“Do you stay alone handsome?” The lady asked, winking at Julian.

“Yes beautiful.”

“I stay alone too, can you drop me off, my night shift is over, you know what I mean by that.” The lady said and leaned down so that her face was the same height as his. “I will give you the best time of your life tonight handsome.”

“Uhm, that’s a nice idea, beautiful…”

Eva who heard everything ended the call straight away, feeling hurt.

He was handsome, no doubt, and she wasn’t even his girlfriend, so she shouldn’t feel jealous and hurt right? But she couldn’t help it.

She heard voices in the living room and chose to ignore it, her mind on Julian thinking if he was on his way with the lady to her house.

Julian stared at his phone, did she just hang up on him? No lady has ever done that to him before, instead when they hear him talking to another lady, they try to get his attention.

Strangely, he didn’t want her to end the call, his heart felt funny when she hung up the call. It felt as if she had ripped off his heart. Gosh!!! Why is he feeling this way towards a girl he just met?

“What are you saying, are you still interested in my offer?”

Regarding the lady in front of him more slowly, accessing her whole curves. Julian realized she wasn’t Eva.

Standing up to his tall height, he shook his head as no. “Thanks for your offer, but I am not interested. Have a splendid night.” With that he left the club house and entered his car. He dialed Eva number again but the girl wasn’t picking up.

He called and called, but Eva didn’t pick up.

This was new, no girl ever ignored his call even though he was the offender.

Why had she even ended his call? She was not his girlfriend so why will she ignore his call as if he was cheating on her?

At that moment, the waitress who served him his drink walked out of the club house and started walking away when he slid his car window down and called the girl.

“Hey beautiful!”

Turning to stop and look behind her to see if she was the one they were calling, she saw Julian who waved at her to come. “Hi, I thought you left,” She said once she neared his car.

“Still interested in me dropping you off?” Julian said as he opened the other side of the front passenger seat for her.

Entering his car she smiled at him. “Yup, so why the sudden change of heart, handsome?”

“No one has ever called me handsome and I realise you shouldn’t be walking home by yourself at this time of the night.” Julian lied his mind on Eva as he tried to call her again and she didn’t pick his call.

“Awww, how so thoughtful of you handsome,” She said with a smile.

“Am Dennis and you?”

“Vivian.”

He started his car and drove off. Stupid Eva who wanted to make him feel guilty.

He saw Elena seated on her bed with her arms crossed over her chest. She was glaring at him with venom in her eyes.

“I heard everything you and my aunt discussed, but you are not welcome here.”

“Ouch, that statement hurt me right here,” Demon said, pointing to his heart.

Snorting loudly. “As if you have a heart.” She said and watched as he sat on the empty space on her bed. “I didn’t ask you to sit.”

“I don’t sit with my killer,” Elena said, trying hard not to go over to that bed and run her fingers all over him. He was sexy in his black combo he is wearing. Elena laughed at that. “You are in love with who, me? You must be joking. How can you be in love with someone you are supposed to kill, someone you just met 3 days ago. Are you mad?”

“Yes I am mad, I am madly in love with you Elena.” Demon answered her and stood up from the bed. “Something is going between the both of us, and I am ?% sure I am not the only one going insane about you. You are also thinking of me. I will find out why it is happening to us, but I think you are my mate.”

“You don’t know what you are saying, Demon. Let’s assume if i wasn’t your mate, if you are not in love with me like you claimed, wouldn’t you have killed me like you did to the dead Princesses without a second thought? You don’t know what you are saying, we are not mates and I forbid you from speaking such words to my hearings again.”

Demon smiled and walked towards her. “Then why are your eyes telling me a different thing?” He stopped and touched her cheek tenderly. “Your body yearns for my touch Elena, and you know it.”

Elena didn’t know when she closed her eyes getting lost in his caress. She was getting wet by his touch.
