Chapter 22
Beverly Carington
I walked into the house again after 1 month not being here. Grandma said that Clyde was out with Anna so I’m safe to be here. I sat down on the sofa and looked around. I miss this place.
“Do you want anything to drink?” Jocelyn asked.
“Oh no… thankyou Jocelyn.”
“Do you miss this?” Fred threw my favorite cracker and I smiled.
“Thankyou!” I said as I opened the box and ate it.
“If you miss seeing your room… go up.” Grandma said as she gestured me to go upstairs.
“Not technically my room but it’s Clyde’s room.” I said but I got up from my seat. I walked upstairs and entered the room. I looked around and everything still the same. I sat down on the bed and sighed big time.
“I miss you… Clyde.” I whispered and closed my eyes. I got up and walked downstairs again. I walked into the kitchen where Jocelyn and grandma are.
“What are you making?”
“Cheese egg rolls and… salmon.” Grandma answered and I smiled. I looked at them cooking and can’t wait to eat because I’m so starving.
“You know… the house turned really quiet after you left.” Fred said as he took out his yogurt from the fridge.
“He’s right.” Jocelyn agreed.
“I’m sorry that I can’t stay here longer.” I looked at them one by one.
“Clyde is a jerk, how can he keep you here like this? He doesn’t have a heart.”
“Not yet.” Fred said and we all turned to him completely looking at him with questioning eyes.
“What do you mean not yet?” Jocelyn asked her husband.
“You’ll see.” Fred smirked and then walked out from the kitchen.
“Here… try there.” Grandma said after she cut the egg rolls. She gave a little bit for me to taste. It’s really good!
“Beverly! Thankyou for the gifts yesterday… I love it.” Jocelyn said and I chuckled.
“You’re welcome… I’m so glad that you like it.”
“Like it? I love it!” Grandma squealed and I laughed.
“Thankyou so much, Beverly.” Jocelyn smiled widely to me and then she hugged me.
“Welcome and I’m so thankful too that you guys forgive me for what I’ve done. I lied to you guys about my relationship with Clyde.” I said sadly and they both nodded.
“People make mistakes… Beverly. We’re a normal person and we make mistakes sometimes. I don’t blame you for this… it’s all Clyde’s faults.” Grandma said and I chuckled.
“How is he?” I asked as I took a really deep breath.
“He’s been hanging out with Anna lately and yeah… there’s nothing special about it. Anna kinda hates us and she always wanted to be with Clyde only not us.” Jocelyn said and I nodded.
“I hope he’s happy.”
“Do you miss him?” Grandma asked as she looked at me straight into my eyes. I sighed and nodded a little.
“I will be lying if I say that I don’t miss him. 5 months is not a short period of time, we spent it together and it kinda became a routine for me.” I answered.
“Clyde is an idiot, we use send back him to New York so he and Anna will be apart.” Grandma said in an evil tone and it makes me laugh so hard.
“Fred!” Jocelyn called him.
“Grandma and Jocelyn, don’t be like that. Clyde is happy and if you sen-”NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
“He wants to go back to New York anyway.” Grandma cut me.
“What?” Fred entered the kitchen.
“Let’s let him go to New York.”
“I already did… I talked to him yesterday.”
“What? How?” Jocelyn asked.
“I just did.” Fred said.
“You didn’t even tell us?” She asked her husband.
“Can you both meet up?” Grandma asked and I shook my head right away.
“Clyde hates me now. I mean… Grandma… we’ll never meet because New York is big and there are no chance that we will bump each other.” I laughed at her as she put the salmon into the hot pan.
“If you two are meant to be together… even the sky is divided into 2… you both will still meet.” Grandma smiled.
“Grandma, we’re not meant to be together. Clyde will be marrying Anna anytime soon. I mean I bet he will propose to her soon.”
“He doesn’t even love her, now tell me how is he going to marry this girl?” Fred crossed his arms in front of his chest and raised his eyebrows to me.
“How do you know?”
“Beverly, he even admitted that this house without you… is so quite.” Fred said and I sighed.
“Let him be… I’m not interested in love anyway.” I said as I sat down on the chair. I looked at grandma cooking the salmon and I’m drooling. Like really…
“What if one day… you’ll meet him again?” Grandma suddenly asked.
“I don’t know. Actually, I don’t know.”
“Okay, it’s okay.” Grandma chuckled. Not long after that, the salmon is cooked. We sat in the dining room and ate our food. We talked about a lot of things and I started to tell my story about how I am doing in New York. It’s always fun to talk with them.
They gave me a lot of support, weird questions… and a lot of laughs. I miss this family… I love them just like I love my mom.
“We’re always here if you need us.” Jocelyn said and all of them turned to me.
“Thank you so much.” I smiled widely.
“Clyde was so suspicious with us yesterday but we can handle him well.” Fred said.
“Well at least he… happy with Anna.”
“He’s not that happy, Anna is a little annoying…” Fred said honestly.
“But he’s Clyde’s first love.”
“Nah… Clyde needs to meet his Bonnie.” Fred said and I chuckled.
“You love Bonnie and Clyde? That’s why you… named him that.
“Not only him but me too.” Jocelyn smirked looking at Fred.
“They were naughty at some point…” Grandma said and they laughed.
“I just found his Bonnie.”
