Chapter 257
Chapter 257
Luca’s POV
I made my way out of my office and shut the door firmly behind ke. I stretched a little as I started to
make my way down the hall, while stretching a couple of times. My muscles were already starting to
feel really stiff due to the fact that I had been inside the office for over two hours. I was glad that I had
finally done this particular thing that I had wanted to do for a really long while.
I puffed out a deep breath as I made my way into the kitchen and the first thing I did was to head
straight to the sink to wash my hand since it was starting to feel really sweaty. Once my hands were
dried off, I made my way into the walk-in freezer and retrieved a bottle of drink for myself. I stood inside
the walk in freezer and started to drink the content of the bottle as soon as I had gotten it open, and
once I had already started to feel a little bit sated, I made my way towards another part of the freezer
so I could grab a carton or juice for Sofia, and then I started to make my way out of the walk on closet.
“Oh, good day sir.” Matilda said as soon as she sighted me and I nodded my head at her almost
immediately, pausing until I had swallowed down the content in my mouth before responding audibly.
“Matilda, how are you?” I asked, remembering that I saw her a little this morning when she had
prepared breakfast for Sofia and I.
“I’m doing just fine, sir.” She responded as she started to sort out some things on the other side of the
counter, and I instantly took that as my cue to leave the kitchen instantly. It didn’t matter that Matilda
had been here for over three years, things always managed to feel awkward between the two of us,
compared to how less tense and awkward things felt if it were to be Sarah and myself. It was probably
because I’ve just never took a really huge liking to her, because I don’t think I’ve ever had an actual
conversation with her, well, except the time when I just recently hired her, probably,
The shirt which I currently had on was a white colored one and I was currently starting to feel hot, even
though I had sat through the air conditioner right there in my office. I puffed out a slow breath as I
started to pour more of the content of my bottle into my mouth. It was an energy drink and it felt like it
was starting to give me a little bit of strength even though I had literally just started to drink it, some
moments ago.
I was heading towards Sofia’s door, the one exactly beside mine where she had transformed into a
room for her to paint in. The door was slightly opened and I slowly pushed it open after transferring her
drink to my other hand, making sure not to make a sound because I didn’t want to startle her, all I
wanted to do was to see how she worked without her knowledge at first.
There were sounds coming out from the room and it made me push the door open even more as my
mind started to question what it was that was happening in there. Once again, my breath managed to
catch in my throat as I stared around at the whole room. It looked even more spacious than mine and I
knew it was because there weren't lots of tables and huge furniture around the room, like it was in my
office. The whole place looked so colorful and so beautiful that my chest started to ache a little at how
perfect it looked.
The noises which I had previously faintly heard made their way to my ear and I turned my head around
to listen in on what it was that I was quietly hearing from the other side of the room? Because she
wasn’t in the room at the moment. The faint sounds started to echo around once again and that was
when I realized that she was laughing from the bathroom…? Because that was the only room that was
adjoining this one.
I watched as the door at yoruba other side of the room got pushed open just as Sofia started to make
her way out of that place, and a phone was pressed against her ear really flatly as she breathed out
another laugh, and this time unlike before, it didn’t sound all muffled but managed to echo around
audibly. I was expecting her to notice me standing in the doorway because I wasn’t even trying to hide
myself, but she only chuckled once again as she started to make her way to the other far end of the
room, completely backing me.
“Uh, no, no. I didn’t say that one bit, that was all you,” she said into the phone and started to giggle a
little in a really endearing way the next moment.
“Shut up, that’s all you, it wasn’t me…” She started to say but ended up trailing off as a laugh bursted
out from her. It felt like she was talking to someone whom she was kind of close to and for some Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
reason, I had been thinking I was going to feel jealous about this particular thing.
But somehow, I was feeling the complete opposite in my mind. I remember her talking to me about her
bored she usually is being at home day in day out, so it somehow pleases me and make me feel a little
bit better about leaving her all to herself at home while I leave for work whenever I wanted to, and I’ve
got to admit that she was trying a whole lot, because I honestly didn’t think I’d be able to stay home tne
wdy she usually does, without completely going crazy at a certain point.
She laughed at what it was that the person was saying to her and after some time, she was bidding the
person goodbye, and that was when I realized whom it was that she was talking to because she had
called the person’s name.
“Bye Kayla, I’ll see if I'll be allowed to come out tomorrow, you take care of yourself for me.”
Oh, so it was Kayla.
Somehow, despite what I had previously said, I couldn’t help but admit now that I might get jealous
sometimes if she’d be talking to a man the way she was talking Kayla some moments ago, but that
doesn’t mean I was going to start going crazy over it when for one, the supposed dude knows damn
well that he has zero to mine changes with her.
I pushed myself out of the doorway and started to push the door close behind me. I refrained from
completely locking the door because I had met it slightly ajar as I turned around and started to make
my way towards where Sofia was. She was currently standing on a board that had a little bit of color
over it and nothing more. I started to make my way towards her in the next second, and she still didn’t
hear me move towards her because she was obviously so engrossed in what it was that she was
currently typing away on her phone.
I stopped behind her and chose to stare from above her head to check what it was that she was doing–
it was pretty easy because she was really shorter than I was, and I realized that she was scrolling
through Facebook.
I decided to make my presence known to her and I decided on making use of the drink of hers in my
hand. It was still very cold and I knew it was going to do the work just fine. Her hair was in a bun on her
head and that was when I noticed the pencil poking out or the bun on her head. Her neck was
completely bare and I instantly noticed a reddened spot at the back of her throat, and I could remember
sucking a hickey into that particular spot when we were still in the gym this morning, it was still bright as
fuck and I suddenly want to suck that patch of skin deep into my mouth in the next second.
I lifted the carton of drink and moved it to my other hand in the next second, and I lifted it up and
brought it up really slowly until it was hovering over the back of her neck. She was still engrossed in
what she was doing on her phone that she didn’t even get an hint of what I was about to do, or about
my whole presence here in the room until she was gasping and screaming while scrambling away from
me in the next moment, looking really terrified when she focused her eyes on my face and finally
stopped screaming. I almost started to feel bad for her, almost, but then I shoved that thought out of my
head as I started to coo at her.
