Chapter 188
Chapter 188
Luca’s POV
At this point, all I wanted to do was to kiss her so intensely, but I had a dinner reservation and I really
do not want to be an asshole by denying her the chance to have dinner in here tonight, coupled with
the fact that I still wanted to have dinner with her… which means any dirty thought I was having at the
moment was going to have to wait until when we get back home tonight.
Sofia turned her head back around to stare at the little child rev after a few moments, and I had a
feeling it was because she didn’t have an idea of what to say, which I perfectly understood because
even I myself had been pretty surprised at the words that had escaped my lips moments ago. I hadn’t
thought it through at all and had literally spoken as it had popped into my head, so I kind of understood
her speechlessness at the moment.
The damn elevator was taking forever to come back to the first floor, I thought to myself as I turned my
head around to stare at the little children once again. It seemed like they were arguing with their mother
and I find it really endearing and cute. The first child turned around and I blinked once, my forehead
feeling like it was folding in a little – it only did that whenever I was deep in thoughts. The little kid had
seemed really familiar and I blinked once again, trying to figure out where it was that I had seen the kid
in before. The second child turned around as well and I got taken aback a little, it wasn’t because of the
fact that they looked extremely alike to the extent of it being impossible to be able to tell one from one.
I was still trying to figure out where it was that I had seen these sets of twins, when a man walked out
from a door that seemed like a restroom to stop beside them, just as the mother of the children pushed
herself to her feet. The man who had recently vacated the restroom was currently holding a child in his NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
arm, a child who was as identical as the previous two children who were still standing beside
themselves, and all three girls were all in the same kind of cloth and shoes. It didn’t hit me until the kid
who was in a man’s arm turned her head around, to stare directly into where Sofia and I were standing,
and as soon as our eyes had locked, it was at that exact moment that it dawned on me.
Recognition dawned on the face of the little girl as well, the same moment it dawned on me, because in
the next second, she was tapping on the shoulder of the man who was currently carrying her and
pointing towards me, as words started to leave her lips.
“Daddy, look.” She said to the man whom was apparently her father, with her hand pointed in my
direction– and I watched as the eyes of everyone — the mother of the children, the remaining two
children who were still standing and that of their father – all turned around to focus on me, and
realization dawned on the Face of the remaining two children, as well as on the face of their mother.
They were the family I had met in an elevator, a couple of weeks ago, at the hospital, when I had
visited the hospital to go see Sofia after she had fallen off the bed and sprained her shoulder. I could
remember the three children had been arguing in the elevator car throughout the ride about a ribbon or
something like that, and how their mother had tried to settle the argument throughout the ride. One of
the kids there had waved at me with a toothy smile when I had been leaving the elevator and I had
waved back at her, right before the elevator door slid closed and that was that… well, until this very
moment. I shook my head a little and nodded my head at the mother of the children when she started
to bow her head a little in greeting.
I had been hoping I wouldn’t be meeting with anyone who might know who I was really well, which was
one of the reasons as to why I had chosen this particular restaurant. Too bad the elevator had to be
taking forever to arrive down.
The father started to make his way towards us, as well as his family and I heard Sofia squeak a little…
probably in excitement at meeting the children.
“Hello there.” Sofia whispered to the two children who were on the ground with a little wave and the
children grinned up at her before waving a little. The one who was still in her father’s hand was still
staring at me, with lips in a cute little pout, which reminded me of that particular day when she had
reminded me so much of Sofia.
“Mr Ricci, good evening to you.” The man greeted me with a small bow of his head and nodded my
head back at him almost immediately, my eyes returning back to the child after a fleeting moment.
The little kid smiled at me and I grinned at her a little, just as the family started to turn back around,
heading over to a different part of the building. The kid in her dad’s arms turned around in his arms to
stare at me as the distance between us got more spacious and spacious, a toothy smile still on her
face. I couldn’t help it, she was way too cute and adorable, and so I lifted my free hand up and waved a
little at her. That seemed to do it for her because in the next second, she was tapping on her father’s
arm and struggling to get out of his arms.
The family stopped and tried to make her stop trying to jump off her father’s arm, but the child only
continued to struggle even more, and was almost about to start throwing a fit. The father glanced back
at me after a few moments. He was probably thinking I wasn’t going to be cool with his daughter
coming back towards me, probably because he was scared about how my reaction was going to be. I
nodded my head once at him and watched as he finally set her down carefully, and the little child
started to make her way towards me, covering the steps by running towards me with her little feets.
My heart was completely squeezed tight when she finally made it almost to where I was still standing
in, and I pulled away from Sofia’s side to take a couple of steps forward, meeting her in the middle. I
didn’t know what made me do it, but as soon as I crouched down before her, I was taking her into my
arms without even thinking. She allowed me to hug her and even threw her arms around my shoulders,
muttering little words of excitement against my shoulders. I pushed myself up to my feet and took her
with me, lifting her into my arms in the next second. The rest of her family was back to standing a few
feet away from me, waiting to collect their daughter. I stared into the said daughter in my arms and
smiled down at her a little. She reached up and pressed her hand against my cheeks. Her parents were
probably currently going out of their minds with worry at the moment.
“Hey little kid, what’s your name?” I said to her in a small voice and watched as she grinned brightly at
that.
“It’s Alessia.” Sbe replied and I nodded my head at her once.
“That’s a beautiful name, Alessia.” I said to her and watched as she blushed a little, reminding me so
much of Sofia once again.
“There’s my sisters,” The girl in my arms started to say as she turned her head around and pointed
down at her side at the two other girls who were like a carbon copy of herself, before starting to speak.
“There’s Aria and Alexander.” Sbe paused. “We're triplets.” She said, like it wasn’t obvious enough, but
I smiled down at her anyways, wishing I didn’t have to return her back to her parents in the next
moment.
“You’re all beautiful girls.” I said to her as I crouched down and placed her down on her feet. She stared
at me with narrowed eyes. “But I’m the most beautiful, right?” She asked and I chuckled a little before
nodding my head once at her. That seemed to do it for her because she was turning around instantly
and walking back to her sisters who were already ready to argue with her about who was the most
beautiful amongst them all.
I rose up to my feet and turned my head around to stare at Sofia, and she had a satisfied look on her
face in that moment.
“You’re good with children really well, she adores you so much.” Sofia started to say, referring to the
child whom I had interacted with a little, moments ago.
“I am?” I asked and watched as she nodded a little just as I pulled her agdinst me.
I turned the thought around in my head a little, just as the elevator doors slide open to reveal two
technicians.
