Chapter 170
Chapter 170
Sofia’s POV
I turned on my side and pushed my face into the sheets, breathing in deeply and dragging the blanket
over my body even more. I wasn’t funny awake yet, but the scent which I’ve come to love and get
addicted to, was stifling my whole senses and pouring off this particular spot which I was laying in at
the moment, and I turned around once again, tugging my legs upwards to wrap my arm around myself,
curling up into a small ball and pulling the blanket around me once again.
After a few more minutes, I blinked my eyes open and stared at the darkness of the blanket which I
was currently beneath and slowly tugged the material off my face until my head was leaking out. I
breathed in deeply ruffs before I allowed my hand to slide out from beneath the blanket to rub against
my eyes, and after a few more moments, I finally tugged the blankets off my body until it was around
my waist, and then I pushed myself into a sitting position.
I didn’t need to glance into the space beside me to know that Luca was no longer in bed at the moment
and would have most definitely been at work at the moment.
I turned my head around either way, and it was in that moment, that I realized that I was currently
sitting in Luca’s side of the bed, which means I had probably rolled around in my sleep, or perhaps luca
had laid me down there after getting out of bed this morning, because he had once again tugged me
into his arms last night, and I had remembered falling asleep faster than ever on his chest.
I ran my fingers through my hair, combing through the curls and tangles as I shuffled to the side of the
bed, before pushing up from the bed and stretching my body out a little.
It felt like I had run a marathon last night, all because it was the first time I’d been attending a gathering
so late into the night, coupled with the fact that I had to stay in heels throughout. I tapped my phone out
glanced at the time, it was currently past ten in the morning, making me realize that I had slept in really
late this morning.
It was a good thing that I wasn’t expected to be getting up from bed super early, because I had no idea
as to how I was going to handle getting up from bed early in the morning to prepare breakfast for my
husband, or something relating to that.
I started to make my way towards the bathroom, pulling the door close behind me and I made my way
straight into the toilet to empty my bladder which was completely filled up. I had woken up in the middle
of the night, wanting to go to the bathroom, but then I had found myself cocooned in Luca’s strong
arms, with my body being almost completely on his body, and I had felt too greedy at that moment
because I didn’t want to leave his embrace in that moment.
He just felt so safe and calm and the fact that he had still kept on holding me to himself firmly even
though he was fast asleep, and I knew I wouldn’t know how to get back into his embrace myself if I had
indeed slipped out from his grip to go to the bathroom, and so I had forced it back and fallen back
asleep after a couple of minutes of me doing noticing but nosing my way around his throat and neck.
I got out of the toilet and paused before the hand wash basin to wash my hand and face, and after that,
I proceeded to wash my mouth and take my bath. Taking my bath had been super fast because I was
really hungry and I wanted to go get something to eat as fast as possible, and so I washed my hair
super fast in the shower as well.
I toweled myself dry as much as I could as I made my way out of the bathroom and into the walk in
closet. I was out of the walk in closet after a few minutes as well, and I remembered to pick up my
phone and to put my hair into a bun, before I existed the bedroom and pulled the door close behind me.
I descended the staircase as fast as I could and then I made my way into the kitchen. Sarah was
currently in the kitchen when I made my way there and she gave me a bright smile after we exchanged
greetings. She proposed to make me breakfast but I declined and informed her that I was going to be
waiting for Matilda, since it wasn’t Sarah’s job to cook coupled with the fact that I didn’t want to put her
through any kind of unnecessary stress.
I bid her goodbye and told her that I was going to be in the sitting room as I made my way out of the
kitchen and into the hallway. I paused when I had almost arrived at the sitting room, because Ryan was
also walking through the hallway, into the direction I was coming from. He paused a few feet before me
and I smiled up at him with a small wave of my hand.
“Hi Ryan,” I breathed out and as usual, he nodded his head at me and the sides of his mouth tugged a
little, indicating the trace of a smile, and that was it.
“How are you this morning?” I asked after a moment and watched as he lifted his shoulder up a little Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
before starting to reply.
“It’s literally like every other day, there’s no difference from the other days and this one.” He replied
flatly with a little huff which I found adorable, but wouldn’t dare tell him about that, to avoid him from
going back to being all tense around me.
I watched as he suddenly started to stare at me pointedly, his forehead tightening up in concentration
for a few seconds. I glanced behind me for a second before turning back around to stare at him.
“What is it?” I asked and watched as he blinked once, and it looked like he had been staring at me in a
kind of weird way for a moment.
“Do I have something on my face?” I asked when he didn’t supply any kind of reply, and that was when
the small haze that had fallen over his eyes seemed to clear off, because he was shaking his head in
the next second.
“No, no. There’s nothing on your face, ma’am.” He replied, and I felt my mouth twisting in displeasure
because he had used the word ‘ma’am’ this time.
“Are you sure? It felt like you noticed something on me or something…” I trailed off at the end of my
sentence and shrugged a little.
“No, no. That was just nothing, I got lost in my thoughts back then, I suddenly remembered something I
had been trying to remember for a while now.” He replied and I gave a small nod of my head, still
feeling a little bit unsure, even though his response had been pretty logical.
He talked about wanting to go complete his checkup around the house and I continued to make my
way into the sitting room.
I flopped down onto one of the couches, the skirt I had on bounced a little on my thighs. The sitting
room was currently a little but chilled and the temperature was just perfect at this moment. I pulled in
tne chilled air into my lungs, throwing my head against the back of the couch as I breathed out slowly. I
was currently in a sleeveless top at the moment and the air around here was making a little bit of
goosebumps appear on my skin.
I wasn’t in the mood for some television and I still needed to watch some more tutorials on YouTube,
and so I started to scroll through YouTube, looking for the perfect video which was going to help with
what I currently needed.
I was already some minutes into the first video I had decided to watch today when Matilda started to
make her presence here in the sitting room known by starting to speak loudly. I rolled my eyes a little
as I paused the video and turned my head around to stare at Matilda.
I watched as she paused in what she was saying and stared wide eyed at me, her mouth falling open in
the next second.
I started to feel uneasy the next moment, moving a little in my spot on the couch.
“What is it?” I demanded as she started to make her way towards me.
“What’s this huge bruise beside your throat?” She whispered in a low voice and I blinked at her slowly,
before my mouth fell open in the next second. I lifted my hand and slapped it against the side of my
throat as realization started to dawn on me.
The hickey from last night… the damn bite to the side of my neck…
Wait a second…
That was probably what Ryan had noticed at the side of my neck back there in the hallway…
Oh my gosh… can the ground open up this instant and swallow me up?
