Chapter 165
Chapter 165
Luca’s POV
After spending over five hours at the wedding, Sofia and I were finally leaning for home. I bid Travis
goodbye after exchanging contacts and promising each other to hang out in a few days, we finally went
both ways. I was pleased that Sofia had been able to hit it off with Kayla, I’ve always wondered how
she copes at home, being all by herself and having the same company every day after day, but at least
now, hopefully she’d be able to hit it off with Kayla online… and if they do, that’s the only thing that’s
going to determine if their friendship is going to grow into something meaningful, or if it’s just going to
die down after tonight.
Well. Time’s going to tell.
I breathed out a small sigh and glanced sideways and my eyes drank in Sofia in all her glory, and all I
wanted to do at the moment, is to pull her over my thighs and take her lips in a deep kiss. I’ve been
dying to take her lips in a deep kiss after she had dressed up tonight and applied on a kind of lipgloss
that had looked really pretty, and I had wanted to know how that kind of lipgloss tasted, I had wanted to
know how it tasted so bad, I had wanted to taste if off her lips.
I averted my gaze and focused my gaze on my fingers as the car drove past lots of large buildings
really fast. Sodiq was currently doing nothing, all she was doing was staring straight ahead at the other
chairs opposite her, with her fingers moving around on her thighs. I didn’t want to move closer to get
abs pull her into my arms, or to reach out and take her hand in mine to stop her From twisting them
over and over again – but like I had said before, I didn’t want to overwhelm her, because I had a feeling
that I was already overwhelming her enough, and that she deserved to have some alone time to herself
beside me, and not need me bring all over her, just because we’ve started to grow closer and had
started to exchange kisses.
I lifted my hand up and carded it through my curls, puffing out a deep breath and leaning back against
the backrest of my seat, as the breath eased out of my lungs slowly. I turned my head sideways and
caught Sofia staring at me, with her teeth worrying over her lower lip, as her blue eyes blinked down at
me.
I stared at her pointedly for a few seconds before reaching my hand out and using it to push her hair
out of her face, and I watched as she lowered her eyes as soon as my fingers had made contact with
her smooth face.
Lord, she was so damn beautiful, and once again, her eyes looked really good this way. It wasn’t like
she wasn’t beautiful on a normal day with completely bare face, because she was usually drop dead
gorgeous on those days, but tonight, with her dress, the makeup, and herself in particular, it seemed
like it was all getting to my head than I’d have ever brought myself to predict.
I dragged my fingers over yer cheeks and moved it towards her hair, touching another strand of hair
behind her ear once again.
“What’s wrong?” I asked softly and I watched as her eyes fluttered, right before she shook her head
after a few moments. I contemplated on what to do or say for a few seconds, before finally settling on
the fact that I just wanted us to remain in silence. And so I snaked my hand around her neck and
tugged her towards me, and she dropped over my chest, with her eyes which had widened for a
moment, staring into my eyes as soon as the top of her body almost splayed over my chest and arm.
I held her that way and dragged my eyes off her face, staring straight up into the roof of the car,
because sterling into Sofia’s face and her lips wasn’t helping my matters one bit, it was only marking
matters worse in my head, and it was also making it harder for me to hold myself back from taking her
lips in a kiss which would make her toes curl with pleasure.
After about ten minutes more, the car finally arrived home and some moments later, the gates slid open
and the car drove into the compound.
The door of the car got pulled open and by then, we were both sitting straight in our seats once again
with a little bit of space beside us. As soon as the driver had pulled the door open, I alighted the car
first, and I waited at the door way and stretched my hand out for her, in which she accepted before
alighting the car as well. We started to make our way up the few stairs and waited beside the door for
me to fish the keys out.
As soon as I had gotten the door open, we both made our way into the house and I pushed and locked
the door carefully instantly. I turned my head around to see Sofia crouched down while she tried to
unbuckle her sandals.
“Your legs are starting to hurt?” I asked almost immediately after watching her completely get the first
one off her foot. She glanced up and smiled sheepishly at me before giving a nod of her head.
“I’m not really used to walking or standing in high heels for so long, that’s why.” She explained after a
moment, and as soon as she was done speaking, she was done with the second sandal and she
pushed herself up to her feet.
She had reduced in height drastically now that the skies were off her feet and I wanted to do nothing
than to lift her up into my arms because she was just so freaking cute this way.
“Would you love to have a drink with me tonight?” I asked and started to regret asking her that question
instantly because I didn’t know how I was going to even control myself around her if I took actual
alcohol now that I was back at home and alone with her. But I couldn’t bring myself to take back the
invitation when Sofia’s was already staring up at me with a wild smile, as she echoed out.
“Really? Yes I will.” She gushed out, and I knew there was no going back from there. I was just going to
try to bit do anything stupid tonight. All I was going to be doing was to serve her a drink and once we
were both done, we’d both head upstairs to take a shower and fall asleep, and that was that.
It can’t be that hard, now can it?
I nodded my head at her before offering my hand to her, and it pleased me a lot when she placed her
smaller hand in mine, with a bright smile still on her face.
I started to tug her through the hallways, past the sitting room and some other doors, until we were
heaving into the empty kitchen, and I flicked the lights on as soon as we had made our way into it.
The kitchen was currently empty like I had expected it to be. I mean, it was some minutes after twelve
in the morning at the moment, and I nodded as sure the people here in the house were going to be fast
asleep at the moment.
We made our way towards the counter and I pulled her backwards when she made to hop on one of
the high chairs. She turned her gaze around to stare at me questioningly and I shook my head at her
before tugging her to the far end of the counter where no chairs were arranged around. I wrapped my
hand around her waist and lifted her up, before placing her on top of the counter.
She hasn’t been expecting that at all because she had yelped for a second and her hand had shot out
to grip the sides of my shoulders for a moment, and now that she was sitting comfortably on top of the
counter, with her hands on either sides of my shoulders, and our eyes staring into each other’s, my NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
eyes kept dropping towards her lips and back to her eyes only to return to her lips once again.
I wanted to kiss her so badly, and I was a hundred percent sure I wouldn’t be considering kissing her
anymore tonight, if it wasn’t for the fact that she was also very much hungry for the kiss. I doubt if she
even realized what it was that she was doing at the moment, but her head was tilted up a little, and her
eyes were closed, with lips parted, as her hands were gripping the sides of my shoulders hard.
I shook my head a little to get the cloud of lust off my head and eyes, and then I took a step away from
her, making her hands slip off my shoulders, just as her eyes flew open in fright.
“Don’t leave me up here, I don’t want to fall off.” She started to speak almost instantly, her hands
moving to grip the edge of the counter, panic visible on her pretty face.
I cracked a grin at that right before I started to shake my head a little. “You aren’t going to fall, bunny.” I
said to her, the nickname rolling off my tongue smoothly this time and I watched as her eyes flickered,
towards the flours and upwards to stare into my face in a fleeting second.
She blinked once, before shifting backwards on the counter until she wasn’t perched on the very edge
of the counter anymore.
