Being Proposed to By a Blind CEO

Who is Mr. Ian?

The rooster had begun to crow in the morning, a sign that people who were still wrapped up in their blankets were about to resume their activities. Especially Sekar, who this morning at around 6am had already left and arrived at the office. Normally Sekar would leave closer to 7am, but since Gifer hadn’t come home yet, Sekar had to leave early with reports and files already piled up on her desk.

Also, where Sekar usually saw a lot of employees already leaving, now no one had left at all. Only the office boy and office girl were there. Sekar immediately walked to her desk and sat on her chair, leaning her back against it. Staring up at the ceiling of the office where there were bright white lights up there.

“Huh… when will my suffering end? Mr. Gifer, please, you come back soon. Without you, I am also empty, Mr. Gifer. Empty because the tasks are getting more and more piling up. Mr. Gifer as the CEO should be the one to solve this, my job is just to help. But why is everything being handed over to me? Aish… if this keeps up, my body will break from typing for too long, and my eyes will start to fade.” Sekar monologued with a weary face. Instantly, the girl straightened up and picked up the mirror that she had brought from home and was now in her bag.

“Wow, I knew it, my eye bags! Aaaaa, why is my face so ugly?” Sekar shouted as she widened her eyes while holding the area under her eyes when she noticed that her eye bags were starting to turn black and big, like pandas.

“Like someone who never sleeps. But it’s true, I never sleep because of this job. Huhuhu.” Sekar complained as she placed the small mirror on her desk in a face-down position, still unwilling to look at her face again after looking in the mirror. While she was talking to herself, the office boy suddenly came in with hot tea.

“Hot tea is here, please drink the tea.” Said the young man who was trying to greet Sekar who was still in a bad mood.

“Eh? Can you replace the tea with coffee? I need coffee so I won’t be sleepy at work.” Sekar asked.

“Alright, Miss. I’ll replace it. By the way, let me ask you a question. Is Mr. Gifer inside?”

“No, I don’t know when Mr. Gifer will return. Mr. Gifer said he might be gone for a few days, but it’s been more than three days since he came home. His cell phone is no longer active. It’s annoying, if it wasn’t for the lure of a high salary I wouldn’t want to torture myself either, huhu…” Sekar complained with her lips parted.

“Oh yes, for the sake of a salary so you can buy a car, okay? CHEER UP!” Sekar’s unusually quick change of mood made the young man who had been delivering tea startle and stare strangely at Sekar.

“What are you looking at? Go to work!” Sekar ordered. The young man, who was an office boy, immediately left.

“Wow, Miss Sekar seems to be exhausted because she still has a lot of work to do at the desk. I feel sorry for her, but my knowledge is not as high as Miss Sekar’s, there’s no way I can help her. Let’s make some coffee first.” The office boy reported to the office girl who was mopping the office floor, glancing at the tray containing a glass with hot tea on it.

“Oh yeah, instead of throwing away the tea, let’s drink it.” The man finally drank the tea that Sekar had rejected when he gave it to her.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Shortly after being at the amusement park, they were now gathered in the men’s room to discuss another trip to visit the tourist attractions in America. Gifer agreed because he also rarely had time for his girlfriend. Therefore, Gifer wanted to spend more time with his girlfriend, especially with his best friend. Gifer also seemed to have a plan to set Haris up with Anggi because they were always fighting.

“Where are we going for this tour?” Anggi asked the three of them.

“You don’t know, why ask me.” Haris spontaneously raised one of his right eyebrows. His lips were pushed forward in a mocking gesture toward Anggi.

“How confident you are. I’m not just asking you, but everyone.”

“Well, if you ask Gifer he won’t know either, we’re not Native Americans, right Gif?” Gifer nudged Gifer’s shoulder lightly.

“Well, I’m not going to ask, I’m going to ask my favorite friend. Vin, where would you like to go?”

“Hmm, do you want the mountains or the museum?”

“Museum!” Haris and Anggi said together.

“Wow, they’re talking together. Honey, it looks like they’re a good match.” Gifer joked, making Belvina laugh while patting Gifer’s arm.

“Me? Fit to be this alien guy’s partner? No way!” Anggi replied as she put her hand on her chest and turned her back to Haris. And vice versa.

“Do you think I want that too, to have a female partner like you? I don’t want that either!” They both sat cross-legged and turned their backs to each other.

“You guys are so compatible, you know. Hahahaha.”

“Gif, do you have the heart to make me pair up with that weird girl?”

“Geez, if you like it, just say it, Ris.” Haris’ eyes bulged, his lips parted in annoyance that his best friend didn’t defend him.

“Dih, I don’t want to either.”

“Who would want to be with you?”

“Maybe Mr. Ian wants to be with me.” Anggi replied hopefully while clenching her right fist in the air that she was imagining a date with Ian. That immediately made them confused and astonished by Anggi’s attitude. It also did not escape Haris’ attention.

DEG!

CRACK!

Haris’ heart suddenly cracked when he found out that Anggi already had her dream man in Jakarta. Haris actually liked Anggi, but he was still hesitant to reveal it, so he kept it to himself.

“Hah, haha, hahahaha, whatever. Eat that Mr. Ian you’re talking about!” Haris retorted, glancing at Anggi. Anggi also frowned in surprise, why Haris seemed to dislike it when he mentioned Ian’s name.

“How come you don’t like it, strange.” Anggi replied.

When the atmosphere was boisterous between Haris and Anggi who were arguing with each other, but it was not with Belvina. The girl seemed to be remembering something and Gifer also noticed it. Glancing at Belvina for a while and Gifer finally asked.

“Who is Mr. Ian?” Gifer asked with a confused face, full of questions that were on his mind at the moment.

Anggi who understood the situation immediately gave the code to Belvina not to talk about it first, but the friend didn’t seem to understand Anggi’s intention and instead explained it to Gifer.

“Look, Mr. Ian is our boss at the WR Bank company. He’s still young, that’s why Anggi likes him. And just so you know, dear, Mr. Ian is…” Bekvina deliberately paused her sentence.

“What? What about him, dear?”

“He’s the man who was an eyewitness and who saved you from that accident.”

DUAR!!!

Like being struck by lightning, Gifer’s heart beat faster than usual. Gifer was really shocked to hear Belvina’s story. His eyes were glazed over, as if asking for a deeper explanation to Belvina about who Mr. Ian was.

“W-what?!”
