“Ah yes! I remember it!” Nova’s shriek caused Bang Martin to stroke his chest in surprise.

“Seriously, do you remember it?” Asked Bang Martin, Nova nodded quickly while still remembering when she was still at Panti Falah.

“Yes, I remember her, back when I was in elementary school, me and Rosa were both in grade 5, the girl who was once my best friend, is now gone.” Nova’s face suddenly became sad. The girl lowered her head, holding back the tears that were about to spill from her eyes. She twisted her eyeballs to prevent the tears from spilling out, but she failed. The tears finally fell down her cheeks.

“Why is that? You mean, Rosa… died?” Between curiosity and pity, Bang Martin continued to ask Nova about it. The girl nodded, as if agreeing that what Bang Martin said was the truth.

“What happened that caused Rosa to die?” Bang Martin continued.

Flashback

In one of the orphanages in Kendal, Panti Falah, two girls who used to be in elementary school, now both have entered Junior High School. They were always together because they were good friends, even to the point of being in the same class, despite their different hobbies.

“Rosa, for the weekend vacation, let’s go to the city of Jakarta, I want a distant healing.” Rosa asked with her happy face because it was approaching school vacation. All this time, when they were on vacation, they were only at the orphanage. Going out was only limited to the city of Kendal where they lived, without knowing what the world outside the city was like.

Early in the morning, around 04:30, Nova and Rosa were already preparing to go to Jakarta using their own savings. They intended to take the train from Kendal to Jakarta. Now both of them had arrived at the station after taking the bus from the orphanage to the station.

“Rosa, let’s go.” Nova invited while holding Rosa’s hand.

“I still can’t believe that we can go to Jakarta too.” Rosa said happily.

“Hahaha, yes too. I can’t wait to go to the tour later. Eh? But, do we have enough money?” Nova asked.

“Hmm, hopefully enough, Nova.” Rosa replied.

“Come on, we have to buy tickets.”

They both went straight to the counter to buy tickets, got on the train and enjoyed the ride to Jakarta.

Not waiting long, they finally arrived in the city of Jakarta while carrying their respective bags on their shoulders. They saw that the city of Jakarta was different from usual.

“Here, do we want to take the bus too Nova?” Rosa asked.

“Yes, Rosa, we’re taking a bus to a tourist spot. Hmm, where do you think we’re going?”

“The famous one, Taman Mini Indonesia, maybe.” Rosa suggested with a smile.

Now Nova and Rosa have arrived in front of Beautiful Indonesia Mini Park in Jakarta. The two girls were excited because they were happy to finally be able to go to the city of Jakarta too without having to ask permission from Mrs. Panti. They just want to be free and be able to travel to unwind when they have to spend time only for school.

“Wow, we’ve finally reached Beautiful Indonesia Mini Park.” Rosa said while looking around. The beautiful nature made her and Nova very impressed. Rosa then ran a little leaving Nova who was still smiling because her friend was so happy.

They rode the rides at Beautiful Indonesia Mini Park and saw a small child carrying a doll while riding the rides. Nova’s mind remembered someone.

“Roda, do you remember that we were given dolls by someone when we were in 5th grade?” Rosa frowned in confusion.

“Grade 5?” Nova nodded.

“Yes, I remember. So what?”

“There was one boy and one girl who came to the Falah Orphanage where we’ve been living.”

“Yes, so what?” Rosa asked.

“Isshh, I haven’t finished talking yet, Rosa.”

“Hmm, go on then.”

“Do you remember, they both came to the orphanage to give us dolls?”

“Oh yes, I remember. They said it was sewn by themselves. If I look around, they look like a couple. I still have that doll in my room, it’s really nice. It always accompanies me to sleep.” Rosa said

“What are you remembering anyway? Let’s go on another ride, Nova!” Rosa invited but Nova held back her hand.

“Yes, I want that man to be mine, who knows when that will be, hehehe. But, if God wants something else, I can only surrender.” Hearing Nova’s explanation made Rosa frown.

“I’ll be like that too,” said Rosa.

“What do you mean?”

“Yes, if God has other plans such as calling me first, it means that Tonny, the man I loved at school, won’t be mine, I can only write his name in the deepest part of my heart,” Rosa said that lightly, making Nova not accept it. Nova held both of Rosa’s shoulders.

“Rosa, do you realize what you’re saying? You can’t talk carelessly. I don’t want to lose you, Rosa! I won’t! You’re my one and only best friend at Panti Falah.” Nova shook his head and hugged Rosa’s body. Rosa returned Nova’s hug with a smile.

“Yes, all living things will die, we’ll never know when, Nov.”

“Yes, but not now, don’t say that again, Rosa.” Said Nova who already had tears streaming down her cheeks. Nova released her hug.

“Alright, I won’t say that again.”

“You promise?”

“Yes, I promise.”
