Chapter 842
The two women with rosy lips looked beautiful. Both wearing red dresses, one slim and another one fluffy. They both had long hair which hung over their shoulders. Their body figure and height were so similar, as if they were duplicated. The difference was negligible but each had their own uniqueness.
At this moment, the two of them were standing opposite of Willy - one was holding a plate while the other had a wine glass in hand. They were smiling so widely that their eyes turned into a thin slit on their faces. Looking at them, the mood felt strange, ambiguous, and extremely glaring.
Lauren tapped on her phone harshly and cursed, "Shame on you! Shame on you!"
As Willy approached Lauren, he asked with a faint smile, "Who are you talking about?"
As the food arrived, he sat down and asked, "Did I offend you again?"
Whenever she muttered to herself, cursing at others under her breath, she was the cutest and quirkiest to him!
Lauren gave him a cold look after picking up a piece of fruit. "It's been twenty minutes!"
"Even a turtle would have starved to death!" She thought to herself.
Willy raised his hand and pinched her cute face. "Haha, a few people tried striking up a chat. Plus, I'm just a little late!"
Pursing her lower lip, she recalled the woman who had just dawdled on his body. She immediately raised her hand to grab one of his fingers.
"I'm a little uncomfortable... I'll take my leave first!" She said.
Be it the stares from those around her, or the fact that she had to watch him flirt with other women, everything made her feel extremely comfortable.
Holding her hand back, Willy kissed her on the lips and asked, "Are you jealous again? I'm just socializing! It's a common thing. You should learn to get used to it!"
As he glanced at Trevor who was in the middle of a chat with another, he suddenly felt how out of place Lauren felt at a drinking party like this. Willy said, "I have something to discuss with Trevor! Let's leave once I'm done, okay? It won't take long!"
When she heard this, her head ached but Lauren could only force herself to say, "Sure!"
"I'm going to the bathroom," she continued.
Willy raised his hand to help her down and said,
"Slow down a little! Should I get someone to bring another pair of shoes for you?"
Her heart felt warm, and some weight was finally lifted off Lauren's heart. "It's fine, I'm still breaking them in! I'll be careful!" She answered.
After walking around the aisle, Lauren felt much better. She didn't like the hustle and bustle of the party so she didn't hurry back and instead, stopped by the window. Letting the wind breeze by her, Lauren dawdled for a while before turning to head back inside. Just as her feet moved, a burst of rumbling and sounds of a quarrel grew louder in the distance.
"Are you f*cking done yet? Do you want to die?" A voice yelled.
"Beat me up if you dare! Come and beat me to death!" Another voice answered.
Out of the blue, she suddenly felt tense again and thought to herself, "What's going on? Have I come across a fight?"
Lauren looked around and saw that there were no one in the corridor, yet the voices sounded like they were getting closer and closer. Listening closely, she felt that the voices did sound a little familiar. Instinctively, she ran to the empty space ahead and rushed to the stairs but it seemed that she had nowhere to hide. At the same time, a loud "clang" was heard. Lauren was dumbstruck and hid behind the stairs immediately.
She was waiting for an opportunity to leave once the fight fizzled out. Before she could take a breath, a loud voice was heard, "Tell me, what do you mean by this?"
Along the narrow door crack, a familiar figure came into sight. "Hallie? Isn't she Trevor's younger cousin, the daughter of the Clements family? Who is this man?" Lauren asked herself. NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
She couldn't see the man's face clearly, but Lauren's eyes caught half of his dark apparel and his bright black leather shoes. Hallie stood in front of him, blocking his way and was pulling on his arm.
While she was struggling to see what was going on, another "clang" sounded. Hallie was kicked staggeringly and almost fell to the ground. At that moment, she looked completely different from how she was at the banquet. The man looked down at her cruelly, huffing impatiently.
"What do I mean? Are you stupid? I meant that I would rather be with a man than to be with you! I feel sick when I see you!" He yelled.
"Caven! What did you just say?" Hallie asked.
Hallie suddenly straightened her back and held her fist. Her eyes were burning with anger.
Although she had no clue about their relationship before, Lauren did guess that the man in there must be her husband. But why was there a strong animosity between the two of them? Shouldn't
they quarrel behind closed doors? Why was the man getting so aggressive and violent with a woman?
She had just witnessed Hallie getting kicked by the man with her own eyes just moments ago! It was obvious that he had lost control of his emotions!
It was fortunate that she had gone into hiding, or else she might have suffered the same fate!
"Don't you f*cking pretend to be superior. The eldest daughter of the Clements? Who doesn't know that you are just a shoe who's casually worn by others? Do you know how many men have your nudes in their mobile phones? You have embarrassed me so much!"
"I have tolerated you for a long time! Do you really think I like you?"
"And here you are, trying to control me?"
With his finger pointed at Hallie, Caven casted a fierce look her way.
"If you still want to be a part of the Lance family, you best keep your mouth shut. I'll beat you again if you keep being a busybody! Look at you, you are as fat as a pig, there are pimples all over your face. What else do you know how to do other than eat? Why would I want to be with such a useless woman like you? If it weren't for your Clements surname, I would have long kicked you out already!"
"Ugh, I want to puke whenever I see you! Do you think if it wasn't for you, I would've done what I did? Why don't you think about how you served those perverts? Utterly repulsive!"
"Willy Bowles is the man whom you've always liked! You didn't think I'd be aware of it, did you? You only came to be because he doesn't care about you. All I am is leftover, after all! Who knows how many men you've slept with? F*ck, you don't even bother hiding it! Why do I have to have such bad luck to have ended up with you? You're nothing but a useless wh*re that defames me and causes me trouble!"
"Because of you, b*tch, I am jeered at every day which completely made me lose interest in women!"
"If what you want is a divorce, then let's get it done! Do you think I'm afraid of the Clements family? Frederick's the one calling the shots in the Clements family anyway. Who do you think you are?" "You should listen to whatever I say after getting married to me. Do you really think I don't have the guts to beat you to death?"
"Pff."
He spat, cursed angrily, and swung his hand to open the door to the staircase before rushing down the stairs. Behind him, Hallie sobbed uncontrollably as she tried to catch up with him, but she ended up falling and collapsing onto the ground.
"I didn't do any of that! Why won't you believe me?" "You are the only man I ever slept with! I gave you my virginity!"
"... Didn't you tell me before that you don't care about the past and will treat me well for the rest of my life?"
"Why are you a different person all of a sudden?"
"You are the only one I love."
She continued to cry loudly as she draped herself against the wall, using it as support. Even Lauren held her breath unconsciously as she laid her eyes on Hallie. She was shocked and surprised to see the latter like this.
The person she liked was Willy?
Even though she didn't like her, she couldn't help but pity her at this moment.
However, why was this man so mean to a girl who was frail and small? His words were too hurtful! Wasn't it normal for women to like eating, and tto have pimples on their faces? Was he perfect? He could barely even cut it on Casterwich City's leaderboard!
