Chapter 1639 - Choice
Behind him, separated by the darkness that covered the ground, Christ stood in the cold night wind
with his head down, surrounded by a strong sense of sadness and regret.
Selena walked into the warm villa amidst the silence.
Osvaldo stood on the steps with his back to her, watching her come in.
Selena smiled and walked over to him.
The man naturally reached out and hugged Selena's waist, leading her into the cozy living room.
They had dinner together and Osvaldo accompanied Selena for a walk in the garden afterwards.
Because they were about to leave and there were many things to deal with at both Research Institute
and Capital University, Selena slipped away for a while before returning to her study to arrange things.
Osvaldo escorted her back to her study before staring at how focused she was on working overtime for
a while before turning around and leaving.
Osvaldo went downstairs, came into the living room briefly then left through front door of villa.
Underneath dim streetlights Christ still hadn't left yet.
Hearing footsteps approaching him he lifted his head up; his eyes staring crimsonly at Osvaldo without
much surprise on his face.
This man was definitely more aware than anyone else of any changes in Selena's demeanor.
Perhaps holding onto that last bit of hope that refused to give up; Christ waited here. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
And as expected; Osvaldo... appeared.
Christ clenched his fists tightly.
Osvaldo stood on the steps, his deep eyes mocking Christ across from him. "I told you earlier, don't be
so reckless..."
If it weren't for Christ indulging Sheng Pan's inhumanity and getting involved with Leah, causing harm
to Selena without any regard for humanity, he wouldn't have ended up where he is today.
Christ sneered. "Where can you go? Neither Osvaldo nor Dante... can escape your blame."
None of them are selfless do-gooders.
Osvaldo was just luckier than him.
Osvaldo's gaze turned cold. "I can show you the way, but I have conditions."
Christ had been waiting for this sentence and stared at Osvaldo's eyes intently.
"Two options," Osvaldo said calmly. "You can only choose one."
Christ's breath hitched.
But he probably guessed that Osvaldo would make this condition long ago; there wasn't much shock or
surprise in his eyes. Perhaps because even he couldn't say clearly who he liked... so this choice wasn't
as difficult for Christ as it seemed.
He glanced at the villa behind Osvaldo and concealed a vague and indistinguishable expression in his
eyes. "If your information is useful to me, I won't come back to disturb her again."
He still couldn't distinguish who he really liked right now.
The reason why he made such a choice was simply because Selena was safe with Osvaldo protecting
her while the little girl who saved him years ago... was still missing until now.
If she really disappeared from this world as Selena claimed, then Christ would never be able to rest
easy in his entire life.
For men, responsibility often weighs heavier on their hearts than emotions do.
Osvaldo's face remained expressionless. "You can check out the downtown area, with a focus on a
man named Stanley..."
"As for whether or not we'll find anything, that remains to be seen."
While Stanley was calculating his moves against Osvaldo, Osvaldo was also keeping an eye out for
him.
