Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Dressed in a casual white suit, the man looked handsome.

A normal person wouldn’t be able to pull off this look, but he exuded a natural of elegance and languidness.

He was charming.

Mikayla thought he looked familiar but couldn’t quite place it.

“Mr. Blue,” the driver nervously addressed the man.

The man, referred to as Mr. Blue, turned his gaze toward Mikayla.

“Sorry for the inconvenience. I will take full responsibility,” Mikayla sincerely apologized.

Upon hearing this, the man chuckled mischievously. Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

“In addition to the repair costs, you should also compensate me for my emotional distress and lost income. I have a billion–dollar contract waiting for me to sign. You’ve delayed it, so you’ll be responsible for that, too.”

Listening to the outrageous demands, Mikayla smiled lightly.

“Sir, you appear dignified and wealthy. I didn’t know you make a living through extortion.”

That explained why the driver seemed skilled at taking photos for evidence.

The man didn’t get angry. He continued to wear his wicked grin. “Regardless of how I make a living, have the car owner compensate if you can’t afford it.”

Now Mikayla understood. This Mr. Blue was targeting Jerome.

Then, something flashed in her mind. She suddenly recalled his identity. He was Taylor Blue, Jerome’s biggest business rival.

She hadn’t directly interacted with Taylor in her previous life. But she had seen him on financial news during her time in the psychiatric hospital.

Back then, Taylor’s wealth had almost caught up with Jerome’s.

The investment company he founded had become a significant player. It was second only to the Miller Group.

“Mr. Miller, a lady here is claiming to be your wife she’s driving your car and colded with mine. What do you think we should do?”

While Mikayla was still reminiscing about her past life, Taylor find already called Jerome,

“Talk to your husband.” Taylor handed her the phone

Mikayla took the phone and said, “Hello”

“Did you go out alone?” Although Jerome sounded impatient, his tone wasn’t too herch

“Yeah.”

“Are you okay?”

“I’m fine.”

“Stay there.”

With that, Jerome hung up.

“I’ve heard rumors that Mr. Miller married a beautiful and delicate wile. We finally got to meet today. You surely live up to your name,” Taylor said, sarcastically praising Mikayla.

Mikayla thought Taylor was bullshitting. She and Jerome didn’t even have a wedding ceremony. Except for a few close acquaintances, nobody knew they were married,

She flashed Taylor a business–like smile. “Mr. Blue, I’ve also heard you’re quite good at making money. Indeed, I get why people say that.”

Under Taylor’s playful gaze, she entered her number into his phone.

“I wish I could learn more about making money from you in the future. I hope you won’t

reject me.”

Mikayla handed the phone back to him.

Taylor raised an eyebrow. “Sure thing.”

Soon, the traffic police and Taylor’s lawyer arrived.

Jerome’s preferred Maybach also appeared.

Mikayla was somewhat surprised when she saw Jerome getting out of the car. He could’ve sent Mike to handle such a trivial matter. Why did he personally come?

While Mike was negotiating with the lawyer and traffic pollee, Jerome approached

Mikayla and Taylor.

Jerome wore a black shirt, which enhanced his commanding and regal presence. His tailored sult showcased his long legs, and he exuded an inherent sense of nobility and

dominance.

Just moments ago, Mikayla thought Taylor was charming. But upon seeing Jerome, she felt that he outshone everyone.

“Mr. Miller, it’s been a while.” Taylor politely extended his hand.

Jerome coldly ignored him. Instead, he glanced at Mikayla. “What happened?”

“It was just a normal accident, but he wants to extort money from you.”

Mikayla pointed at Taylor, effortlessly shifting the blame onto him.

“Mrs. Miller downplayed the issue. I outright wanted to rob you.”

‘Taylor remained unfazed. He even tried to provoke Jerome. “Mr. Miller, I heard Bernhal Enterprise is considering investing in Ansoft. I’ll seize the opportunity. Consider it my first gift for you upon my return.”

Jerome emitted a low, disdainful chuckle. “You think you’ll succeed?”

“How about we make a bet? If I secure this project, you give me the land in Nature City.”

Jerome chuckled again. “You’re quite ambitious.”

Taylor smiled, too. “I’ll take that you agreed.”

Ignoring him, Jerome turned to Mikayla and commanded, “Get in the car.

With that, he strode toward the Maybach.

Mikayla didn’t want to ride with Jerome. But she had damaged his car, and he came personally to handle the aftermath. She shouldn’t be ungrateful. Therefore, she followed

him.

Mikayla wanted to open the rear car door when they arrived. But Jerome’s icy voice cut through. “Do you think I’m your chauffeur?”

Mikayla fell silent. She entered the passenger seat instead.

In the car, Jerome seemed rather displeased.

In the past, Mikayla would have expressed her gratitude and explained every detail of the

situation. Now, she didn’t feel the need to say much. So she busied herself with her phone.

The two remained silent.

Suddenly, a car behind them honked loudly and flashed its lights.

Mikayla glanced at the rearview mirror. Taylor was approaching them in his dented hrvalry car.

Jerome noticed him, too. Without accelerating or decelerating, he continued driving at normal speed.

Taylor pulled up beside them when they arrived at a red light. He waved at Mikayla, indicating that he had something to say.

Confused, Mikayla lowered the car window.
