Chapter 19: Coffee
Chapter 19: Coffee
Jade's POV
By 7:30 we were already seated in the restaurant waiting for the waiter to take our orders. It was a
beautiful restaurant, there was no other word to define it. From the big glass chandeliers to the wooden
furniture, the flower pattern, the aquarium, the white table clothes, and silver utensils; the Le Chateau
was a restaurant that deserves a ten on the beauty scale.
"So what do you think?"
I raised my brows and smiled a little. "Do you really have to ask? The Place is beautiful. I really love
what they did with the aquarium, so beautiful. I also love the all wooden theme, just beautiful. I love it.
What about you?"
He turned his head to look around, "As you know, the layout is the least of my problem but I have to
admit the decorator did a marvellous job. What I am really waiting for is the food."
I rub my hands together. "Me too. I can smell the food already." I wiggled my body in excitement.
He laughs. "I can tell when did baby gets here he'll be eating down the place."
"That's why he has a daddy like you, who will buy him everything." he lifted his hands to his chest.
"That's true. You see this right here," he said gesturing to his heart. "Belongs to two people and he is
one of them so he'll be as spoiled rotten as a child can be."
I faked a smile.
Who was the second person his heart belongs to?
Did he finally find a woman to replace me?
What if it's his sister, his mother or probably an ex. He did say he was afraid of getting hurt what if his
ex-girlfriend hurt him so bad that he never loves again.?
Oh my god. I can't think all the possibilities of who is the other person.
Did he have another child?
Of course not. That's why you are here.
To give him a child.
But wait, what if he founded out that he had another child and now that child has the other part of his
heart.
I let out a sigh of frustration.
"Are you okay?"
I looked up and gave him the best fake smile I could come up with. "Yes, I'm okay. My mind kind of
drifted for a minute." I paused. "I will make sure even though he is spoilt, he'll be a good spoilt."
"Just like his daddy."
I shrugged my shoulders and he noticed immediately.
"Now, now. I saw that. Are you trying to say I'm not good?" I looked straight into his brown eyes, so
beautiful. He was so handsome. From the first time I saw him, he took my breath away and he
continues to do that even more so today.
"No, never. I didn't say anything."
"You didn't have to, your shoulder did." he wasn't smiling again. I didn't want to ruin the romantic mood
and setting but somehow I did and I need to fix it before I turned in a problem.
"Hey, stop getting so puffed up. You're wonderful. You're the most generous man I've ever met and
handsome too. I think you're great you just have to work on a few things but you are great and I love
you just the way you are."
I love you just the way you are.
Oh my frecking gosh, I just inadvertently told him how I left.
Don't notice it. Don't notice it. Please don't notice it.
The puffed up looked was gone from his face immediately. " I love you just the way you are too and I
know there are a few things I need to work on and I'm trying. I am."
I didn't listen to any word that was said after 'I love you just the way you are too.'
My heart is currently beating uncontrollably fast.
Was that his way of telling me how he felt?
He did say he I love you.
But he didn't say it alone. He said repeated the words I had said.
He just repeated what you had told him. He doesn't love. A man like him doesn't fall for their
secretaries. Don't fall for their baby mamas. Don't find someone of the same status and they marry her.
Stop thinking about things that will never happen.
"Good evening. I'm Evan and I'll be your waiter for the evening. Here is your menu, I'll be back in three
minutes to take your orders." My eyes shifted from the man in front of me to the man that was now
hovering over the both of us. He was elegantly dressed in a black and white suit, he also had a sweet
smile on his face. "Is there anything I can get your guys in the meantime?"
"No, we're good thanks," Kyle said too quickly and by looking at his facial features I knew he was
getting angry. He didn't like our waiter.
I smiled at the waiter who was so generously smiling at me. "Thank you, Evan. We're okay."
Evan smiled and left.
"You were very mean to him." I pointed my finger at him like a mother scolding her child.
"He was smiling at you."
"He's supposed to smile at me, it's his job. Ever heard of good customer service?" He rolled his eyes.
"That was more than a customer service smile."
I laughed and shake my head. "Don't be jealous."
"I'm not jealous," he stated
"I'm not."
"Are too,"
"No"
"Yes," I said poking my tongue out at him
"No"
"No"
"Yes." I laugh.
"Gotcha, You are jealous." I couldn't help but smile.
"And what If I am?" My heart jumped. Yes, what if you are indeed.
He sure knows how to make a girl feel loved.
I just smiled. I didn't know how to answer a question as intimate and as sweet as that one.
"Kyle is that you. Oh, honey." I lifted my head to the voice. There stands a woman who is about six feet
two inches tall, Redhead and beautiful, really beautiful. "I realize you forgot to call me but don't worry I'll
give you my number again."
"Hi, Emily. How are you?"
"It's Amy and I'm good. It's good to see you. I miss you so much. Not a day pass where I don't think
about that six pack of yours."
So apparently I'm invisible.
Kyle started to clear his throat. "Yes, sorry about that but you're really not my type."
"Not your type?" she shouted and we started to little attention from the other customers. I bent my head
in shame. "I'm not your type, ugh. I was sure your type when you were under me."
My ears couldn't take anymore and certainly not my face. I wasn't going to let this tramp of a woman
ruin my night. I stood up from my chair. I was looking up at her tall frame. ''It's whores like you, that
make men like him stopping searching for women like me. Let me give a suggestion If a man doesn't
call back or come back in three days it means you are no good and that he doesn't want you. Now you
are invading our personal time. I came here to have a great night and that exactly what I'm going to
have. I don't need a bitch like you ruining my day, I've had enough. I just want to sit down and eat. Now
move from our table or I won't be afraid to move you."
She rolled her eyes and walked away. I dust off my dress, dusting off my shame and sat down with my
body posed. I knew eyes were on me and I didn't care. I was having a great night and a bitch ain't
gonna ruin it.
"You handled that quite well," Kyle said with no emotions on his face, at least ones that I can read.
"I know. It must be the pregnancy hormones or I'd never act like that." Not unless someone else tries to
mess with you
He laughs. "I'm glad you acted like that. She is a real pest and that's why I didn't call her back." Here I
was sitting down calmly as the love of my life talked about his one night stand with that thing. It wasn't
as bad as I had imagined something like that would have been. It's not like I didn't know he had
girlfriends and one night stands before me, I did. I definitely don't know if he had any after me though.
I was jealous when I first saw her, She is beautiful but then she opened her mouth again and all that
beauty didn't matter because she was desperate as a housewife. That my first real encounter with a
real gold-digger and hopefully my last.
...............................................
"I haven't had so much fun and food in a long time. Thanks for tonight." I smiled up at him as my right-
hand fumble for my keys in my purse.
He smiles. "You don't have to thank me, it was a great pleasure. You're a great company. I'm sorry
about Emily.."
"Amy" I laughed.
"Yes, Amy." he corrected and continued. "She's just another girl from my past. She's not important."
I smiled. "I couldn't care less about her, she's soo..." Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
"Yes, I know. I wonder to myself why did I even go there?" he leaned on the wall.
"You're a man, you see the beauty before brains."
"That's a fact I can't deny."
"Don't." After a few seconds of silence, I spoke up. "Would you like to come in for some coffee?"
"Thank you, I'd love that."
