Baby Daddy

Not accurate.

The keyboard clanked loudly as Katherine typed fastly on it.

She paused, carried the cup of coffee she has prepared for herself and sipped out of it.

She continued typing not until she heard a knock on the door.

“Rachael?”she turned to the door.

The door went ajar and Racheal stepped in.

“What are you up to?”she questioned as she moved closer to where Kathy was seated.

“Nothing. Just pretending to be busy.”Katherine pursed her lips.

“Ah,”Racheal chuckled.

“He hasn’t given you anything to do yet?”

“Hm. Do I just sit and faff around this office forever?. Me not doing any work makes me feel guilty.”Katherine sighed and sipped out of her coffee again, languishingly.

“Don’t worry. Maybe he doesn’t have a job for you now. So, lunch?”Rachael raised her eyes at her.

“I guess food would really help me right now. I’m in.”Kathy breathed out and stood up.

“How many minutes do we have for lunch?”

“Thirty minutes.”Racheal replied.

“Woah, isn’t that too short?.”Katherine scoffed.

“Others take a little more than that. But, for us that work closely with the CEO, we can only stay away from our offices for thirty minutes.”she expounded.

They both walked towards the door and suddenly, the landline in the room rang.

Huh?.

Katherine threw her head back at it.

“Is that…??”she gaped at Racheal.

“Hm. I will go eat lunch alone.”she patted her shoulder and stepped out.

Katherine scoffed.

“I mean, why is he calling me when it’s lunch time?.”she groaned and marched to the phone.

She grabbed the receiver and placed it on her ear.

“Miss Kelly, report to my office immediately.”a cold voice instructed then hung up.

Katherine gnashed her teeth and returned the phone back to its board.

Damn him.

She went to his office and knocked.

“Come in.”he rasped.

She opened the door gently, walked inside and shut it afterwards.

She moved to his desk.

“Mr Jace, what can I do for you?”she asks.

He looked up at her from his phone.

“Arrange the books on the shelves.”he nudged his head to the bookshelf behind her.

Katherine glanced back at it and a frown instantly appeared on her face.

The books are already arranged in it, neatly.

What more does he want her to do?.

“Sir. The books are..”

“If you find it troubling, then quit.”he cuts in, brusquely.

Katherine scoffed.

Well, she has a mission to fulfill, if not..

She took in a long breath.

“I will do it.”she smiled, coyly.

She sauntered to the shelve and breathed out.

She picked up a book and dust it then returned it back to its position.

“Not like that.”he snort behind her.

She turned to him.

“Then.., how, sir?”she asked.

“Offload everything, and start arranging it back to the shelve accordingly.”he replied.

Katherine blinked her eyes, rapidly.

“If you can’t do it, quit.”he added with a frown.

Wow.

Why did he hired her when he knew he was going to make her quit the next day?.

He is really one of a kind, isn’t he?.

“I would do that, sir.”she grinned.

She removed all the books from the shelve.

She let’s out a prolonged sigh and started picking them up, placing them on the shelf.

“Accordingly..”he drawled.

She rolled her eyes and started arranging them in alphabetical order.

“According to their stages. Thought you studied business administration in school?”

*Can you stop being so irritating?*Katherine scoffed in her mind.

“I.. is.. it important to.. I mean, I am arranging them accordingly to..”she faltered.

Geez.

She doesn’t even know anything about business.

She only knows that when one sells a product, one make a profit and then, it’s a closed case.

She stared at the name of the book in her hand.

*Introduction To Business.*

She nipped at her bottom lip.

“Introduction means to let us know what we know not before so..”she mumbled to her self with a chuckle.

It should be at the first slide!

She grabbed another one.

*If You Make A Profit, You Have A Long Way To Go.*

She frowned.

Alright, why is this so weird.

She buzzed her lips silently before shoving the book at the other end of the shelf.

She grabbed another book.

*Know Your Self, And Business.*

She grunted inwardly.

What the hell is this?

She kept it at the middle of the shelf.

Jace was observing her, quietly.

He waited for her to finish arranging them before speaking up.

“Not accurate.”

“What?!”she freaked out.

“Those are popular books that all the people venturing into the business world would read. How come you don’t know their systematical order according to their teaching stages?”he bored his eyes in her’s.

Katherine looked away from him.

“Well, I.. know.”she squinted her eyes and swallowed hard.

Why is he making things difficult for her?.

Jace stood up and walked to where she is.

“I don’t want to know if you know it by your words only. How about you show me you really do?”he took one of the books and proferred it to her.

She collected it, nervously and fumbled with it.

He peered his eyes at her.

She looked at the book name and stretched her hand, contemplating whether to out it in the middle, beginning or the end of the shelve.

She shut her eyes and moved her hand towards the end.

Suddenly, a phone started to ring.

“Go.”he mouthed and strides off.

Katherine opened her eyes, sighing in relief.

She dropped the book and left the room.

That was a close call!

She held on to her thumping chest.

“Huh?? How come you’re back already?. Didn’t you went to get lunch?”she widened her eyes when she found Racheal at her desk.

“Yes. Lunch is over. Check your time, will you?”Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

Katherine scoffed.

He just made her miss lunch!

Gggg.

“Can I still go grab a quick food though?”

“Why don’t you take permission from Mr Jace?.”

“Ugh.. oh please. That man is annoying.”Katherine puffed out.

She stomped away in rage.

Can she really cope with him?.

Would she fail in this mission?.
