Baby Daddy

Coffee girl

10:41am..

“Make sure you’re attentive to the customer’s order. Don’t look at them wrongly, it would get them vexed, and, don’t look at them too rightly, they would think you have ulterior motives or trying to flirt with them. Avoid staring at them straight in the eyes too! That would be rude. Always smile at them also.”the owner of the coffee shop laid down many rules as she handed the apron to Katherine.

Kathy just gave a nod to all of her teachings and the fatty woman scowled at her.

“You speak, don’t just nod.”she frowned.

Kathrine rolled her eyes internally.

“Alright, ma’am.”she breathed out.

“Not just to me, to the customers too. You give them a reply. Not only a nod. Anyways, isn’t that gown too short?”she eyed her dress.

Katherine passed her a confused look.

“I came here to work, not for you to teach me the proper ethnics of dressing when all you’re putting on is a flay skirt that could get sweep up at a little gush of air.”she scoffed lightly.

“Thank Marvin for having your back. I would have given you a slap if it weren’t for him.”she fumed.

“I am not a worker here after all. You get paid for the work I do here not the other way around. Know the limits, ma’am.”Katherine rolled her eyes and hung the apron on her neck, knotting the straps around her waist.

The woman stomped her foots on the ground before walking out of the shop.

Katherine tsk’ed then fixed the tiny wireless earpiece in her left ear before going to stand behind the counter.

The glassy door was pushed in and a woman came in with a kid.

“Hi. Welcome.”Katherine greeted, discarding the woman’s lecture of having to flash a smile at customers.

“The usual, please.”the woman puffed out.

“I don’t know the one you’ve been taking before, ma’am. Do you mind telling me that as I’m new here?”

“Uggh.. Stacy keeps changing her workers. I don’t like talking too much. Just give her a call and ask her.”the customer said grumpily.

Katherine breathed in her exasperation before putting a smile on her face.

“Americano – if that’s your usual, it would have saved you more stress. You just puts out three lines while avoiding to say a few words.”

“You’re so rude.”the woman snapped with a snarky glare.

“Mummy.. I need a cone of ice cream.”her daughter tugged at her hand.

She pushed her hand away slowly.

“I have to get my coffee first, Shirley.”she frowned at the girl a little.

Kathrine sighed and drummed her fingers on the counter.

If it was a regular day, her regular self, a regular moment, she would have given her a good beating that would send her back to labour room.

“Get me a cup of cappuccino. More milk foam.”

Katherine gave a nod before proceeding to prepare her drink.

“Not even a reply?”Shirley’s mom raised an angry brow at her.

“I would do that later. There, you got a reply.”Katherine glanced at her quickly then smirked within herself.

“I’ve never met a disrespectful coffee – girl like you before. I will surely report you to your boss.”

“We look the same age so why the hell would you want me to lick your toe?. You just happen to experience labour pains a little earlier than me and that’s it.”Kathrine remarked.

She hands over her coffee to her and the woman scowled.

“Right hand, please.”she rasped.

Kathrine grinded her teeth together before switching the hand she used in proffering the drink to her to her right one.

She just have to endure for a little bit!

Shirley’s mom collected it with an eyes roll then paid her.

“Good bye, ma’am. We hope to see you next time. Do enjoy your coffee.”she grins.

“What a total b! tch.”she squeezed her face as she moved towards the door.

“Don’t forget to get your kid an ice cream too! It’s quite sunny out there.”

“To hell with your concern.”she hissed while her daughter turned and offered Kathy a gummy smile before they walked out.

Katherine huff and puffed before rubbing her eyes.

The door opened and a man came in.

“Good girl, that was Vera, right?”he seems to be in his forty.

Katherine chuckled at his choice of calling her.

Good girl?

She is definitely a bad – ass girl.

“Well, I don’t know who you are referring to.”she shrugs.

He stepped closer to the counter.

“The one with a kid?”

“Oh, yeah. You saw her?, what’s the essence of asking me then?”

“I just wanted to confirm. She is quite irritating, isn’t she?. Don’t mind her. She enjoys picking on girls that are pretty than her.”he smiled.

“Oh, okay.. I will try not to. So, what would you like to have?”

“Uhh.. no. I just came to apologize to you on her behalf.”he shook his head vigorously.

Katherine sneered at him.

“You her papa?”she raised her brows at him.

“No. I’m not. Take care then. Good luck on today’s sales.”he smiled.

Kathrine stared at him in disbelief as he left.

3:05pm.

..

Katherine yawned tiredly and rests her head on the counter.

The earpiece in her ear beeps and her eyes widened.

He is here!

She quickly tapped it twice and her face held a frown when she realized it was James.

“Just trying to check up on you. Is everything going okay with you up there?”

“Just curse me instead.”she scoffed then took a languished sip from the coffee she made for herself.

“Make sure not to ruin things in the hotel.”James chuckled, already guessing she is doing very bad at her job as a coffee girl.

“Bye, Jammie. I’m sooo worn out that I can’t talk too much. Komousimita (Thank you in Korean)for calling though.”

“I got you, Kathy.”he chimed before getting off the call.

Stacy had came earlier to see if she was doing a perfect job too.

She left with a snarky glare afterwards.

She seems to be short on temper.

The object in her ear chimes and she double tapped it with a roll of her eyes.

“Seriously, Jammie?. Give me peace!”

“The target is here. Be at alert.”

Her brows raised up to the sound of the door being clicked open.

Two men casually dressed walks in.

They are probably Maverick’s dogs.

They’ve started moving around checking if there was any suspicious person that could bring danger to Blade.

“Hmm.”she hummed lowly to Marvin.

“Two cups of Americano for us.”They sat down at a table.

She nodded wth a smile.

“Coming, sirs. How would you like to have it?. Anyway?”

“Anyway that pleases you, pretty.”one of them threw her a flirtatious smile.

She prepared it for them and went to drop the cups on their table.

“No snacks?”the other guy questioned hoarsely while boring his eyes in her’s as if trying to read her mind.

“Sure. We have chestnuts, mince pies, donuts and biscuits. Which would you like to have, sir?”she lingered her eyes around his face.

She may try not to look other customers straight in the eyes, but not them as she would only appear suspicious.

“Donuts.”he grumbled and she nodded.

“Alright, sir. I will be back shortly.”she bowed a little before scurrying away from them.

‘Target now heading to his room.’

‘Got it.’she said lowly.NôvelDrama.Org content.

She finished serving them their snacks and went ahead to sit behind the counter.

‘Target in his room. When should we drop the drug?’

She grabbed a pen and jotter and pretended to be scribbling something down on the book.

‘Six cup of Americanos.’she uttered.

That way, the men would think she said what she was writing down aloud.

‘Copy that.’

Some minutes later, they were done having their refreshments.

They settled the payment and left.

She released a breath she didn’t know she was holding and palmed her face.

She would go inside the hotel by eight in the evening.

The drug would be dropped in his drink by six. It takes exactly two hours for it to take effects.

..

7:34pm.

..

Alessandro, one of Katherine’s men strides to Maverick’s room with a bottle of wine in his hand.

About five guards were guiding the door.

The first of the three men helping Katherine from the inside was in charge of who goes and comes inside the hotel – Darwin.

The second one was in charge of security footage – Jerry.

The third one – Marvin was the overseer of VVIPs’ special treatment in the hotel.

He’d already slipped the pill given to him by Katherine in the bottle of vodka that was take to him by an attendant about one and half hours ago.

“You can’t go in.”The guards blocked his way.

Marvin tilts his head to the side and sighed.

“I am not here for your boss. I am here for you guys. I bet y’all haven’t get any drop of drink in your mouth all these while. Here, I brought you a bottle of wine.”he stretched the bottle to them.

“You are actually concerned about us?. I am marveled.”one scoffed.

Marvin chuckled.

“Why shouldn’t I?. If I don’t serve you properly, who do you think the boss would lash at?. I am only doing my job, gentlemen. I am not a nice man like that too.”he placed the bottle down on the floor and spun around.

“Drink if you like, I’ve done my best.”he began walking away and stared at them with the side of his face.

He saw a guard carry the wine and he smirks.

One of the guards popped the wine opened and drank directly from it then passed it on to the other.

They passed it on to one another till they emptied the bottle.

“I don’t know You betcha would be this nice.”one breathed out.

“Money, man. Our boss paid to sleep here tonight so it’s only normal that he do that. He wouldn’t wanna get on Blade’s bad side too.”another replied.

Few seconds later, they’ve started dozing off.

After a while, they all slides to the floor and slept off.
