Chapter 7 - We never see each other.
Chapter 7 - We never see each other.
Raina Williams
It's been over a month, everything is splendid. I met up with Derrick's son Grayson, such a nice young man. He made me laugh and cry while laughing which I hadn't done in quite a while. He was hesitant to meet me but I told him that I would do everything to help his father's case. Fact is Derrick wouldn't be coming out of prison but the least I could do is get him a minimum sentence then if he serves nine months I will push for parole otherwise he will be serving Life imprisonment or twenty five years and more.
Not to mention, I kept my word and distance throughout this past month, I didn't see Angelo. I avoided him for as long as I could after all its for the best. I also stopped talking to Alma and his parents honestly it's true I meddled quite a lot. If I was in his shoe's I would do the same thing, all I have to do now is keep my promise.
"Miss. Williams.." Nadia walked in my office.
"Yes, Nadia." I smiled going through some documents.
"Mr. Le roux insists on seeing you today." She said. Nadia was a nineteen year old, varsity student but was quite good at her job and I appreciated that she never let down.
"I can't, I'm busy with the Derrick case. Just tell him we can discuss it on the phone." I was quick to reply.
"Raina, you have been busy for a month." A voice interrupted. I looked up only to meet his forest green eyes. "Besides we can't always discuss everything over the phone." He walked over to sit on the leather couch on the other side of my office further from my mahogany table.
"I will leave you to it then, Oh Miss Williams... Grayson said dinner at eight pm sharp." Nadia smirked. I knew what she was doing, I had recently told her what happened because I was all grumpy. I couldn't keep everything bottled up after i told her everything I felt so much better. She is really nice to talk to, sometimes I forget that I'm older.
"Uhm okay, Nadia you may leave." She stuck her tongue out before leaving.
"So I found some schools that I think you will love, they are the best." I rambled walking over to where he was sitted looking at me closely. I was wearing my usual black pencil skirt that hugged my body and my white blouse that was tucked in smartly and loosely hanged below my abdomen. I usually wore my spectacles in the office so maybe he just realised how ugly I was compared to his fashion designer girl friend but that didn't matter. Life goes on.
"Well I actually wanted to talk about something else." He muttered.
"Uhm is it about the twins ?" I asked nervously but kept a stern look.
"Not really." I sighed.
"Then it doesn't matter." I smiled and he seemed befuddled, its just I promised myself that the only thing that brought us together was the twins and that's all we should ever discuss about.
"So this is the schedule I made." I handed him a copy.
"You take the twins two weekends a month then I have them on one weekend of the month. It's either you pick them up or Maya drops them off." I explained he looked stunned.
"But which means we never see each other." He mumbled.
"Uhm yeah that's the point we won't have to tolerate each other at all." I smiled. "You can run it past your lawyer if you like ?" I suggested.
"No, it's fine." He sighed.
"I knew you would like it." I gave a goofy smile but he seemed annoyed anyways after this he wont even see me that much anyways...
"So which school did you have in mind for their first grade ?"
He looked at me intensely before asking.
"Who is Grayson ?"
"Oh that's Derrick's son, he has been helping me with the case and stuff." I replied casually.
"Oh, I just thought he was you-" I cut him off.
"No.." I chuckled. "You should know love is not for me honestly." I laughed but he didn't respond.
"Uhm, let's just get back to the twins." I said awkwardly trying to avoid the change of subject.
"You know seeing you like this reminds me of-"
"Please don't say it." I mumbled looking away from his intense gaze.
"Park town or Roosevelt ?" I tried changing the subject, we were about to enter, I didn't want to be reminded of if stupid I was.
"Park town I guess." He ran his hand through his hair.
"Its Park town then." I said standing up. I liked the school it was quite expensive so was Roosevelt but only the best for my babies.
"So when is our next meeting ?" He asked standing up.
"I don't know, its not really necessary for us to meet if we stick to the schedule."
"Okay I will see you then." He followed me to where I was standing.
Don't be stupid.
I told myself as he stepped closer. He was about to do something we were going to regret the next day. "Uhm you should probably go Angelo." I moved back but I was backed up by my mahogany table.
"Angelo please." I murmured when I felt his breath on my neck.
"Fuck Raina, you don't know how hard it is to stay away from you." He whispered in my ear laying sloppy kisses on my neck which really sent me on the edge.
"Its for the best, I'm doing my part please commit to yours." Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
I knew all I ever was a sex machine to him, to calm him whenever he is frustrated.
"I can't, its hard." He kissed my jawline.
wow, ironic... it's hard, that's all I'm good for.
"Angelo you have the most beautiful girlfriend, you love her and she loves you don't ruin it because of some bitch you used to fuck in the office."
"Don't say that."
"Its true and I have accepted it so don't feel bad." I smiled.
Suddenly my phone rang then he pulled away before walking out with a sad look on his face.
