The Date
Chapter 26: The Date
He trusted Kate and the fact that Kate genuinely loved Anita was something he could not deny, else being proved other wise.
Thomas took Anita to Atlantis restaurant that evening. As Anita stepped down from the car, her eyes sparkled. She lived the sight of the city and imagine being able to conquer this whole place sooner.
As she thought, the touch of Thomas brought her back to her senses.
What the fuck was she thinking?
Anita refused to accept the thought.
“Come in!” Thomas held her hand as they went in and sat down at the last seat that was close to the window.
Thomas picked that seat intentionally like he knew what Anita was comfortable with and what not.
“I love this place Thomas.” she said openly. The admiration wasn’t something she was interested in hiding.
“I know. That’s why I brought you here instead.”
“we want these.” Thomas said to the waiter and focused on Anita.
Anita was surprised by how he was giving her his full attention.
He seemed to have changed.
He seems to love me more.
So many narratives kept roaming allover her mind.
She wondered why he was being so soft. This was so unlike him, but whatever it was, she was really loving the new Thomas.
Thomas eyes sparkled as he gazed deeply into Anita’s eyes.
“What can you see?” he asked her all of a sudden.
Smiling, Anita turned her face towards the other direction.
“Are you shy?” he asked her as he softly pinched her cheek.
Anita blushed more.
“Stop it Thomas!”
“Tsk there you go again. Don’t you have other sweet names to call me or is it that you never thought about it?” he asked her.
“I.. I really haven’t thought about it. I’m sorry. Maybe I will think about it.”
“You wanna go home and think about it? That’s cool too. You can also have a dream about it. But please ensure it’s as sweet as you.” he said to her.
Anita was already all over the moon.
“I will. You are so sweet.”
“Not as sweet as your lips look right now. Do you know you are a very beautiful young lady?”
“I umm”
“Well in case you don’t know, you are so so so beautiful. Take it or leave, but the fact remains.”
Soon, the waiter brought their order, and Anita picked up her spoon and fork as she dived into her dinner.
Thomas picked up a table knife, divided some fried meats and started feeding Anita so gently.
Everyone around them was already noticing the couple being so lovey dovey.
Some couple who also came to have dinner found them really cool and attractive.
Anita didn’t even notice that people were already recording their good time on camera.
“Hold on, is that not Officer Thomas with the popular reporter sitting over there?” someone from the other side of the restaurant said loud enough for people to here.
The atmosphere froze for a moment.
In the next minutes, cameras were already all over the place. Most people in there were not vigilant enough to notice that these people were celebrities as they thought they were normal people who came to have fun.
Thomas realized this and in the next minute, he was smiling and waving to the cameras.
Anita wondered what was going on, but she never thought of it for too long until she looked up.
THE FUCK!
She froze in shock.
Why was camera allover them.
It took her some minutes to remember that she was a reporter and was famous in the city.
Fuck!
Maybe they should have gone to somewhere more private.
They weren’t cautious enough, especially her. She has not paid more attention.
Lifting her wrist, she rubbed a forehead a bit.
She clearly wasn’t ready to make this relationship a public one.
Why the fuck of all times. She was having her best life.
Damn!
Thomas noticed Anita’s mood and laughed within himself.
Touching her arm. “We should leave. What do you think?” he asked her.
Anita was relieved.
“Yes dear. I really think we should leave. I am no longer comfortable at all.” she said, demanding that they leave.
“okay then.”
Thomas settled all the bills and in minutes, they were already in his car.
Anita then heaved a sign of relief.
“How are you feeling now?” Thomas asked her.
“Pretty much better. Oh my gosh! It was hectic in there.”
Looking at her facial expression and listening to her words, Thomas busted out laughing.
“Why are you laughing? It clearly wasn’t funny.”
As they spoke, they started hearing sounds of people knocking on the car window.
WTF
Anita couldn’t believe her eyes.
Like were these people expecting them to come down or what? She then looked at Thomas like asking for explanation.
“These people are known as paparazzi. They are seeking for information.” he said to her.
“Information? What kind of information do they need at this time if the day?” she asked, because she was pretty sure she was not a big celebrity. She was not a world known star, she was just a young reporter who was simply doing her job and playing her role well, so what kind if information do they need. She should be the one seeking for information.
“Relax Anita. Have you forgotten that I am a celebrity? I am one of the most famous police men in this city so this is understandable. Do you understand now?” he said, looking into her eyes like trying to make her understand.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
Anita kept looking into his eyes like trying to figure out what he was really talking about.
Oh yes!
She then realized.
She had almost forgotten that Thomas was a police force and people trust him more in this state.
Was this the result of showing the world how reliable you are?
Was this what he was trying to achieve?
So what was he going to do about this madness that was going on outside their car?
