An Understated Dominance

Chapter 2379

Emeret stood in the battle ring with a sword in his hand. A faint smile crossed his face as he looked at Glenn. “I didn’t expect us to face each other so soon. It seems we can’t avoid this match.”

Glenn might have been the genius everyone raved about, but Emeret wasn’t one to be underestimated. He had always kept a low profile, avoiding the spotlight and focusing on his training in silence.

Emeret didn’t enter the Combat Tournament for recognition. Instead, he wanted to test his strength. He knew training in isolation wouldn’t help him improve, so he needed to challenge the best to test his abilities.

“You can’t defeat me. Just surrender,” Glenn said coldly. He didn’t want to go all out against someone from the same guild.

“How can you tell who’s better without a fight?” Emeret continued to smile. ” Glenn, I joined the Sword Union a few years before you. You might be the Chosen One, but don’t underestimate me. Defeating me won’t be as easy as you think.”

“You’re not on my level. Save your strength,” Glenn said impassively.

With his keen eye, he could tell Emeret had reached the level of a developed grandmaster. It was enough for him to establish his own guild and dominate territory, but he still fell short of being Glenn’s equal.

“Skill level isn’t everything. As the Sword Union disciple, we often take down opponents who are stronger than us.” Emeret exhibited a balanced mindset that was neither boastful nor impatient.

Glenn raised an eyebrow, and his expression turned icy. “What? Are you really comparing me to those losers?”

“Of course not.” Emeret smiled and shook his head. “You’re the number one expert on the Legendary List, and I respect that. Just remember, there’s always someone stronger. Never underestimate your opponent.”

“When my sword is drawn, it won’t stop until it draws blood. Once we begin, I won’t hold back, so think carefully,” Glenn warned.

He would skip the small talk and go straight for the kill if it were anyone else. But Emeret was his senior, so he exercised a bit of restraint.

“Now that I’m here, I’m ready. Draw your sword, and let’s see whose skills shine more.” Emeret slowly unsheathed his sword.

The sword glimmered like polished silver. Its edge was razor-sharp and gleamed in the sunlight. It was clear this was no ordinary weapon.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Fine. I won’t hold back.” Glenn skipped the small talk and struck first.

He pointed his finger and released a deadly beam of sword aura toward Emeret’s chest. The attack was lightning-fast and was nearly impossible to evade.

Previously, a grandmaster master artist had fallen to the same deadly attack from Glenn.

“Sword finger?” Emeret raised an eyebrow. Instinct kicked in, and he swung his sword down in a vertical strike. His sword cleaved through the sword aura and shattered it into fragments with a thunderous crash.

Glenn’s attack had been quick, but Emeret reacted even quicker. This exchange was just a test, and neither had gained the upper hand.

“Hmph!” Glenn wasn’t backing down. He raised his right hand and flicked his fingers three times.

Three beams of sword aura shot through the air. Each carried immense force that aimed straight at Emeret’s head and body. These strikes were faster and much more powerful than before.

Emeret stayed calm. His silver sword moved in a blur as he unleashed a dazzling silver light.

Three explosive impacts rang out, and he shattered all three sword auras. His movements were precise, decisive, and fluid. It was impressive to achieve this skill level against Glenn’s fierce onslaught.

Emeret grinned. “Show me what you’ve really got, Glenn. These attacks won’t-

But before he could finish, Glenn raised his hand and swung it through the air.

Accompanied by a loud explosion, a giant golden sword materialized in the sky. It was about 33 feet long and 10 feet wide, looming overhead like a terrifying mountain.

The battle ring trembled as it came crashing down from the sky, and a destructive force swept through the venue.

The spectators struggled to breathe. It felt like a great weight was pressing on their chests.

“What an incredible force! That sword aura is terrifying!”

They stared in shock as the giant sword descended. With just a flick of Glenn’s wrist, he unleashed a force that was nothing short of terrifying.

“Hmm?”

Emeret felt a shiver run down his spine as he stood in the battle ring. The smile vanished from his face and was replaced by a serious look.

The giant sword above him descended slowly, but it had already locked onto him, and escape was impossible. No matter how he dodged, that strike was destined for his head.

He had only one option, which was to confront it head-on and disrupt its momentum before it landed.

“Phoenix Summoning!” Emeret gritted his teeth and unleashed his ultimate move without hesitation.

He whirled around and created a powerful gust of wind that howled as it swirled around him. In an instant, a translucent phoenix phantom appeared in the air.
