Always Been Yours Chapter 1356

“We tried to trace back, but the other side had designed a virus in the program. Once

we track it down, the virus will invade our system again, and it may cause secondary

data loss for the company. It could even lead to the collapse of the entire database,”

the manager answered truthfully while carefully observing Harper’s expression.

When he saw the anger on Harper’s face intensify, he quickly explained, “Mr. Quinn,

it’s not that we don’t want to track it down; it’s just that the person behind this attack is

very skilled. I suspect that they’re a top-ranked hacker in the industry. They’re at least

in the top fifty.”

Hearing that, Harper was stunned. A top-ranked hacker who is ranked in the top fifty in

the industry? Why is this person suddenly attacking my company? The cost of

employing such a person is substantial. Who would spend that much money to target

me?

Instantaneously, Timothy’s face appeared in his mind. Could it be him?

He suspected it might be Timothy, but he couldn’t be sure. After thinking momentarily,

he ordered, “You guys go ahead and fix the company’s internal systems. I don’t want

to see this happen again!”

The technical department head nodded and immediately left with his subordinates.

After they left, Harper turned to his assistant and instructed, “Have someone

investigate how much the company lost in this incident.”

“Yes.” The assistant nodded and left. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Later, he returned with someone from the finance department. “Mr. Quinn, the

company’s loss is 20 million,” the finance department’s representative reported

truthfully.

Suddenly, Harper had an immediate thought. He looked at the assistant and ordered,

“Investigate how much the Gulliver Group lost in their project in Hestonville.”

Although the assistant felt it was strange, he agreed. Moments later, he returned with

the information. “Mr. Quinn, the Gulliver Group lost 20 million.” As he finished

speaking, he realized that something was not right. The loss was exactly the same as

what they had experienced today.

On the other hand, Harper also realized that his earlier speculation was correct. The

attack on the company was indeed related to Timothy.

At that moment, he was seething with anger and felt challenged. The assistant

glanced at Harper’s darkened face and nervously swallowed while standing silently

beside him. Nonetheless, the finance department representative didn’t dare to breathe

too loudly, fearing he would become the target of Harper’s fury. Ultimately, Harper

ignored them both, picked up his phone, and placed a call.

“Timothy, are you really going to go against Prospera Group?”

“Mr. Quinn, what are you talking about? I don’t understand.” Timothy’s cold voice

came from the phone.

Harper gritted his teeth. “Do you dare to say that you did not carry out the attack on

my company today?”

“Mr. Quinn, you need evidence to accuse someone. Do you have any evidence that

proves it was me?” Timothy denied it lightly over the phone. He added, “If you have

nothing else to say, I’m hanging up now.”

Without waiting for Harper’s response, he abruptly ended the call.

Meanwhile, Harper gripped his phone tightly, feeling like he was on the brink of

exploding. “How dare he?”

Looking at the angry president, the assistant and the finance department

representative both shivered. Still, given the company’s situation, the assistant had to

speak up. “Mr. Quinn, what should we do next?”

Nevertheless, despite his anger, Harper could still prioritize and differentiate between

important and trivial matters. Then, he made a mental note of the account and took a

deep breath before giving directives to his assistant. “I’ll cover the company’s losses

from my personal account, and all bonuses from the technical department will be

deducted.”

For the time being, Harper chose to keep the incident under wraps, but as the saying

goes, there are no secrets in this world. A handful of people knew that his company

had been targeted by an unknown hacker, and Nicholas was among them. When he

heard the news, he harbored a vague suspicion. Later, he called Edward over and

ordered him, “Go investigate who’s responsible for the attack on Prospera Group.”
