Another contraction began with it relentlessly stretching and squeezing her muscles. Meagan gasped, wrapped her arms around her belly as they whisked her away for examination.

“Don’t worry, she’ll be fine.” Mrs Gabriella Damien assured her son.

“I want to be with her.” Alpha Carl said. He rushed to meet up with the team.

“Carl…” Meagan held out her hand towards him.

“I am right here.. my love. I am not going anywhere.” He held her hand.

Her skin was cold and her heart rate was beating too fast. Alpha Carl felt blood drain out from his face when he was told to let go of his mate. He had to do it so they could examine her condition. Everyone seemed to be interested in the birth of the pups.

Alpha Carl paced the waiting room with his mother and Beta Julius sitting on the bench. He tried praying to the moon goddess for the safe delivery of his pups but he was distracted by some pack members coming to the waiting area.

About ten minutes later, Hazel came out of the delivery room to see the alpha.

“How are my pups doing? How is my mate?” He asked.

“We still have to wait a few hours.” Haze replied.

“Wait? How many hours do we have to wait?” Carl demanded.

“Relax Carl.. it could take a while being her first delivery. Meagan is alright so don’t panic. But you can never tell she can surprise us.” Hazel smiled.

Alpha Carl was confused. “What do you mean? Will she be needing surgery?” He demanded.

Julius came to stand beside the alpha. “Can Meagan have the pups herself? I mean without her needing surgery.” He asked.

“Meagan doesn’t need surgery. And just so you know, some women deliver so quickly than expected.” Hazel answered.

“So we should just sit around and wait?” Mrs Gabriella Damien questioned.

“We have administered some injections and keeping a close watch on her. Meagan is fine. And I am sure she is capable of having the pups naturally.” Hazel maintained the happy smile on her face.

“That’s good to hear.” Mrs Gabriella heaved a sigh of relief.

“She even wants me to get her a book to read or probably an headphone so she can listen to music.” Hazel giggled.

Julius and Carl exchanged confused glances.

“Book?”

“Music?”

“Is this a joke?”

The three wolves expressed at the same time.

“You can go in and check on her for now.” Hazel walked away briskly to get the demands of her best friend.

The medical team in the ward bowed to the alpha before stepping out. But not after the Theta reassured the alpha that everything was under control.

Alpha Carl saw the inhaler in his mate’s hand. “My love, are you alright?” Carl asked.

Meagan nodded. “I am alright. I just need to feel relaxed.” She answered.

“Hazel already went out to get a book for you.” Mrs Gabriella Damien said.

“Did the Theta say anything about this?” Alpha Carl pointed at the inhaler.

“For my condition, it is risky to not have an inhaler for the pushing out process. I don’t want surgery so this is the safest way.” Meagan explained.

Alpha Carl Damien nodded his head in understanding as he leaned down to kiss her forehead. “There won’t be any problem.” He reassured her.

EPILOGUE

ONE HOUR LATER

Meagan grabbed Carl’s hand tightly as another contraction began. He was sitting on the bed while she leaned on his solid chest. Even alpha Carl could feel the painful stretch of her muscles and the tremor that shot through her body.

Beta Julius was already dozing off as he leaned against the door. “Julius! Get the theta now!” Alpha Carl snarled.

Beta Julius eyes flared opened. “The theta-” his eyes caught Meagan whimpering. “The pups! The theta!” He raced out of the room.

Some seconds later, the delivery room door swung opened and the medical team filed in.

“See to my mate!” Alpha Carl lay Meagan down gently on the bed.

“Don’t leave.. Carl.” Meagan held onto his hand when the theta gave out instruction of everyone leaving the delivery room except for the team.

“Can I stay?” Alpha Carl requested.

The theta in charge nodded yes as she pulled on a pair of tight thin rubber gloves. Alpha Carl’s eyes narrowed as Meagan arched her back while the theta was doing an internal examination. He didn’t like the fact that she was in pain even though the theta was trying to be careful.

“Is she okay? What about the pups?” Carl asked.

“The Luna is fully dilated.” The theta smiled.

“So she can have the pups herself now?” Alpha Carl unclenched his tight jaw as he looked down at his mate.

“Yes. I need your help to make her feel relaxed and safe. Press the inhaler into her mouth anytime she is feeling out of breathe during the push process.” The theta instructed.

Alpha Carl Damien nodded his head in understanding and took the inhaler from Meagan.

She gripped his hand. “Carl, stay where I can see you.”

Alpha Carl kissed her lips quickly. “I am right here.”

He felt like air was being squeezed out of his lungs. His mate and unborn pups needed him at the moment. Tension filled him again, he covered her hands with his and he stroked her cheeks before kissing her lips again.

“You can do this, my love.” He whispered.

“Are you ready, Luna?” The theta asked.

“Yes.” Meagan nodded.

Sweats broke out on Carl’s forehead after pressing the inhaler into Meagan’s mouth before she made the first push. He swallowed hard and uttered profanities under his breathe. Meagan was in so much pain and alpha Carl wished that he could take the pain away for her.

And at that point, nothing else mattered to him but Meagan and his pups. Alpha Carl Damien let out a sigh of relief when he heard a faint cry. His eyes watered when the second pup came out on the fourth push. Meagan was covered in so much sweats as alpha Carl pressed the inhaler to her mouth again.

Meagan breathed out heavily and reopened her eyes. “My babies…” She mumbled.

“They are doing fine. We’ll clean them out.” The theta answered.

“I love you, Meagan.” Alpha Carl declared.

“Oh Carl.. I love you too.” Meagan cried as tears streamed down her cheeks.

“Alpha, would you like to cut the umbilical cords of the pups?” Hazel asked.

“Yes. But I don’t know how to do it.” Alpha Carl replied between shaky breathe.

Hazel smiled as she gestured to him to come closer. He went to the theta and was instructed on how to cut the cords.

“They look so much like you.” Hazel complimented.

Alpha Carl was extremely happy as the theta positioned one of the pups in his big hands while Hazel gave the other pup to Meagan. Small fists and feet waved at them as the pups cried.

“Congratulations, alpha Carl and Luna Meagan.” The medical team bowed to them.

“Please raise your heads. Thank you for the great job.” Alpha Carl smiled brightly.

“So what name do you plan to give he identical pups?” Hazel asked.

“The first one is Jayden.” Alpha Carl answered.

“And the second one is Jaylen.” Meagan added as she kissed the pup in her arms.

“Wow! Nice names for the identical pups.” Hazel commented.

Alpha Carl felt so much alive after the tension within him disappeared. They gave back the pups to the medical team for cleaning up.

Alpha Carl held Meagan’s hands and kissed them. “Thank you.” He said to the incredible woman he loves so much and who has carried and given birth to his pups.

AUTHOR’S NOTE.

Alpha Carl Damien and his men went for the war against the vampire rogues and they won. The leader of the rogues was killed and her followers that survived the war were left with no choice but to surrender to the wolves.
