Tears dropped down her cheeks as she read the text message she had sent to the alpha. Meagan has feelings for the alpha but doesn’t want anyone to know about it. She wasn’t confident enough that she was worthy of the alpha. Her feelings-It had happened so quickly and she doubted if they would ever be happy together. And one things made Meagan decide not to reply the alpha’s text messages.

FLASHBACK

After having the discussion about some humans getting married to a wolf and not being able to tell that they are pregnant at the early stage. Meagan thought about the conversation with her colleagues at work as she sat at the back of cab on her way home.

“I have come to realize that the growth of a werewolf fetus is quite different from the human fetus.”

“The fetus of a werewolf in the first three months is quite slow making it hard for the woman to know she is pregnant.”

“Some women don’t even know they are weeks gone!”

Those words rang uncomfortably on her mind. She replayed Miss Britney case in her mind. It had taken so long for the young woman to figure out that she was pregnant.

Subconsciously Meagan counted in her mind how long it had been since she last did her monthly flow. Her heart beat accelerated as she switched fingers trying to be sure. Seven weeks was gone, and it never occurred to her that she should have kept track on her cycle.

Meagan tried to tell herself that she can’t possibly be pregnant. She had been really careful using protection each time she had sex with the alpha.

Meagan closed her eyes to count the number of times they had sex only to feel a clench in her stomach. She remembered the moment in the shower and then the day he had apologized to her for hiding his position.

“I am.. not pregnant. I can’t be pregnant. Those two times doesn’t mean.. I am pregnant.” Meagan chanted in her head. She scolded herself for not even buying contraceptive pills as soon as she got back from the trip.

“I am not pregnant.” Meagan wasn’t sure of her words. She glanced out through the window and sat that they just passed by a mini mart. She ordered the driver to pull over for her to buy something.

Meagan got out of car and rushed into the mini mart to buy a pregnant test kit. Meagan wasn’t the type to pray but she mumbled prayers on her way home. She hope that the result would be negative.

Meagan tossed and turn in the bed throughout the night. She was really finding it hard to fall asleep. The alarm pinged 5:30 am. Meagan got out of bed quickly and rushed into the bathroom. She tore at the kit and took out the strip. She pee into a small container, dipped the pregnancy test strip into it before she emptied it into the toilet.

Meagan waited a few minutes with her heart beat running a marathon. She stared down at the strip in the sink, two red lines was so clear on it. And she bursted into tears at the realization that the result was positive.

She was pregnant. She was indeed carrying the alpha’s seed in her womb.

FLASH-FORWARD

Her hand rubbed her stomach gently. A life was growing in her womb. The alpha had texted her a few days after she confirmed it that she was weeks gone. She had thought about calling the alpha up to tell him about it but it wasn’t easy.

Meagan wasn’t ready to deal with it. And texting him back would push her to say the truth when she had decided to keep her a baby a secret.

She was scared of the alpha. She didn’t make an attempt to call him up to let him know about the pregnancy because she felt he wouldn’t accept the baby. They had agreed to a secret affair and now she was pregnant.

What if he concludes that she must have slept with someone else after she had sex with him?

She was carrying the seed of a man who doesn’t want commitment. She cried so loud as whirling emotions stirred in her.

“What have I gotten myself into?” A mess. A bigger mess the time. She had slept with a man she barely knew. Not just any man but an alpha. She pondered on how she would tell her family about it.

Meagan knew her dad would be so disappointed because she was going to have a child out of wedlock and without a father.

“What have.. you done.. to yourself? Why do you always have to be the different one?” Meagan sobbed as she tried to push back any form of regret.

Her elder sisters pretty had things easy. They met good men, fell in love, got married and have children. Even her younger siblings have serious marital plans. They are both in a serious relationship. But she was the only different one.

Her past relationship had ended on a sad note. She had a fling with an alpha wolf and now she was pregnant without a ring on her finger.

“What if he doesn’t want the baby?” Meagan bantered with her mind that suggested that it was only fair enough to tell the alpha about it.

This isn’t how Meagan had expected her life to turn out. She has a lot of plans for the future. Plans that she is very much capable of fulfilling in the nearest future.

Right now, deep down in her heart, she knew all these plans may probably not happen anymore. So Meagan opted in for the option that seemed to be the only way.

She would keep the baby a secret from her family, her best friend and even the alpha. She isn’t ready to be stuck in a pack that would limit her possibilities of fulfilling her plans.

“He has too much to deal with already.” She sniffed.

Alpha Carl Damien has too many responsibilities. The member of his pack needs him. They all depend on him to help them. They expect him to take care of them. Every decision he makes is either good or when it is the other way round, he has to deal with the consequences.

Meagan drew in a shaky breathe as she sniffled. She concluded that she doesn’t need the alpha to know about the baby. She would resign at work to avoid questions like who is the father of her child and she would go somewhere far where no one will ever find her.
