Winning the task
Celine’s POV:
The grass pierced in my back and arms and the twigs stuck in my hair. She wasn’t stopping anywhere and I couldn’t shift either because she had kept my neck in her jaws and I couldn’t connect with my wolf.

“Get up, Luna. Or shall I ask the slaves to help you up? ”
I clenched my jaw and got up with a growl coming out of my chest. She was amazed and excited too. A predator that’s what she was. She only loved to compete and hunt.
“Why did you do this to me? ” I asked angrily.
She gritted her teeth, ” Because you wolves think you own the woods. The shifter world too. Didn’t you read the warning when entering the forest? It’s a no man’s land. Your stupid competition and challenge isn’t going to be entertained under Zayra’s law! ”
She jumped down and stared into my eyes, almost threatening me with violence.
Belinay wasn’t scared and wanted to fight her. Zayra caught the dominating scent of my wolf too and the yellow in her eyes sparkled with excitement. She knew what my wolf was thinking and it excited her.
“Let me finish my task. ” I tried to tell her the last time.
She scoffed, ” Take me as your reward. Or no one else will be allowed to be taken. ”
I frowned, ” Are you doing this with everyone? Is no one allowed to take any shifter? ”
“No, just you. ”
It was then I allowed Belinay to take over because in absence of Alpha Tyrion’s protective embrace, my wolf was always ready to show her real strength. Her pheromone was getting the best out of her and she immediately landed on her all fours.
Zayra had shifted too and she lunged at me with her sharp claws, aimed at my eyes. Belinay was able to tackle her to the ground. We circled each other, looking for an opening. The lioness lunged first, aiming for my throat. I dodged, biting the lioness’s paw. The lioness yowled, shaking off me and slashing my side. My wolf whimpered, backing away and licking her wound.
We paused, panting and bleeding. We knew this fight could be fatal, but neither was willing to back down. We glared at each other, ready to resume the battle.
Then something snapped in my head and I snarled before grabbing her throat and my eyes shone again. The same energy flowing through my blood and the intensity of it. Somehow, I was able to read her mind, control her and make her body tighten with a mere thought.
The leaves around me flew with my just one command and the trees began to shake violently. It was as if I was in control of the elements and everything was connected to me in a way or two.
Zayra shifted back to human form, her body trembling with fear but a huge grin in her face. She bowed her head and gave a low growl.
“Oh, the hybrid queen of the shifters. The Winds had informed me about your arrival. This servant was just testing you to see the beauty. The woods and the pack leader, Zayra Almani Raynor, welcomes you to my small kingdom. ”
I watched as the lioness stopped talking and the animals came out of the hiding spots too. It was as if they had been waiting for me to stop the fight and acknowledge their presence.
Belinay was at peace and content with everything Zayra told her. I had to shift back to my human form too.
“I think there’s a misunderstanding here. I am just an omega. ” I tried to correct her.
Zayra smiled with amusement, ” Do you really think any omega or Alpha could dominate me? ”
The other shifters bowed down too and I was just confused to do anything. I took a few steps back and sat on the rock nearby.
“Listen, I don’t know what you are talking about. But I need to finish this task. I have to take one of the shifters with me to level up and be eligible for the competition. ” I told them.
Zayra chuckled, ” Just one shifter? How about everyone goes with you? ”
I looked at her in shock and all the shifters joined her to stand before me. I couldn’t believe a lioness was ready to help me with the challenge and for whatever reason they thought I was some Hybrid Queen. But I had to think of winning the task and it made sense to me to just listen to them even if they were pretending to be nice.
I needed to find Alpha Tyrion too because he might be in danger.
But Belinay insisted that we should take the shifters back to the pack because the time was running and we could be disqualified if not be there on time. Alpha Tyrion was an expert and adapt predator he wouldn’t be in danger. Moreover, I could just mind link with him and let him know about my location.
‘Alpha?’ I tried to connect with him.
And he instantly replied, ‘Where are you? Are you safe? I will kill that lioness. ‘
‘I am safe and already heading back to the borders because we don’t have enough time. ‘
‘Celine, we lost it. The task and everything. It’s not your fault. I knew that you are a non trained wolf. It was stupid to even come here. Can you meet me outside the borders so that we can leave without meeting anyone? ‘ He sounded so defeated and sure that we had lost the task.
But I looked back at the growing numbers of shifters following me like my kids and smiled, ‘Alpha, we haven’t lost it. Please come to the pack.’
‘Did you catch a bunny? ‘ He asked, excited.
‘Something like that…. ‘
As we entered the borders, the guards ran away to a safer place when all the shifters changed to their feral forms. Zayra walked beside me with her golden mane and beautiful walk.
The elders, other couples, pack members and the Lycan king were quiet and shocked. Beta Remy was unable to speak anything.
“Here are the shifters for the task. ‘ I told them.
‘This is the second time someone brought so many shifters back and that could only mean this woman right here is the special wolf. ‘ one of the elders said.
