Celine’s POV :

Belinay was trying her hardest to recall about those eyes of Lycan King Calle but it was not coming to her senses somehow.

Maybe it was just a coincidence, I tried to reason myself with the fact. His eyes, a light shade of red, and outlined with green, had something peculiar about them. It was almost ethereal, as if he didn’t belong here.

He was out of this plain world and the powers surrounding it.

“Stop running your mind like that. It gets to exhaustion and you will not have anything answered at all. ” He spoke and I almost jumped because I was so deep in my thoughts that I had forgotten about my surrounding altogether.

I stammered, ” Thank you for welcoming us. ”

I carefully looked behind to find Alpha Tyrion talking to the beta and his eyes were fixed on me as he watched the Lycan King taking me into the pack. It was surprising for both of us because he had not acknowledged Alpha Tyrion once and was being too comfortable with me.

Lycan King Calle smiled, ” I have always wanted to welcome you here but alas I couldn’t find the chance to send you an invitation. ”

I frowned at his statement and was unable to understand his meaning behind the words. But send a possible explanation came to my mind and I thought about how he would have been waiting to invite the Lunas and Alphas for the competition because it was once in a while held thing for most of the packs.

I was unable to see the queen as she was busy with other guests but I could feel something weird in her movements as she tried to give me quick glances on my way.

” I have arranged a special chamber for you. ” The Lycan king opened a door which led to the most beautiful room I had ever seen. I was afraid that I might have gasped at first and he would have seen my face. But he was just smiling and letting me get a proper view of the place.

I felt his hand on the back of my shoulders and his fingers grasped my gown a little too harshly. I immediately felt uncomfortable under his touch.

“Did you like it? ” He whispered, coming closer to me.

At that moment, I saw that he didn’t look that old for his age and there were just a few grey stands in his hair. He was undeniably tall and muscular which added to my discomfort.

I nodded, ” Thank you. ”

I was planning to just go inside and shut the door because I really didn’t want to continue any conversation with him but to my luck I saw Alpha Tyrion coming our way with a big frown in his face.

” I was looking out for you. ” Alpha Tyrion muttered under his breath, ” You should have just told me that you were going with the king. ”

He wrapped his arms around me, scooping me closer to his chest. I could see that he was trying to mark his territory and make the king understand that I belonged to him. And I was not complaining at all.

But Lycan king definitely had a scowl resting on his tough face. He wasn’t pleased with our closeness which seemed so uncalled given I was with my mate.

“It’s okay, Alpha Tyrion. Celine was with me and I was showing her, her chamber. ”

Alpha Tyrion raised his brow, ” Our chamber? ”

The Lycan smirked, ” No, the Lunas and Alphas stay in different rooms for the competition. Your chamber is in the other side of the pack along with other Alphas. ”

“I don’t think that’s how it should be. I am not going to leave my woman alone in the chamber because I don’t trust anyone here. No one. And I mean it. ”

The Lycan king was amused by his anger, ” Alpha Tyrion, other women will stay here too and it’s guarded with high security. Please respect the rules. ”

Alpha Tyrion scoffed, ” I don’t think it is an important rule for the competition and I am not going to follow it. ”

The Lycan growled this time, making me flinch. I held Alpha’s hand tightly and he made me stand behind him.

“Tyrion, I know you are a very smart man. So, you must know that when you signed up for the competition you had already agreed for the terms and conditions. This is term number 13 which says that the male and the female are supposed to stay in separate places in order to avoid segregation of the couples. ”

I could feel from the tone of his voice that the Lycan king was not entertaining Alpha’s doubt anymore and it was already decided. I knew that it was not good for him to get in trouble on the very first day and that too because of me. After all, we were here to participate and to win.

” I think the Lycan king is right and because we have already agreed to be in the competition we need to follow the rules. I am fine with the staying in the chamber with all the other women. ”

Alpha Tyrion was offended with my eagerness to agree with the king. He stared at me with his deadly gaze and I pouted at him.

“Celine is a very smart lady. ” The Lycan king smirked.

Alpha Tyrion nodded, ” She’s a very articulate woman and my mate. ”

I was surprised to see this side of him because I always thought that he had never accepted me. Even though, I knew that it was just his dominant side making sure that the other male knew I was marked yet it was one of the most beautiful feeling in the world.

‘The mate claims us as his…’ Belinay moaned.

“Oh, I thought it was Ava. Maybe you choose whatever women decides to stay with you and you start loving them. ”

The Lycan king was testing his patience and Alpha Tyrion growled.

I was terrified of the possibility that they would have a fight. But luckily, the Beta intervened.

“We need to welcome Alpha Kristian and Luna Ava. ”

The Lycan king smirked again, ” Here comes another couple. ” He turned to me, ” Celine, take rest. I will meet you in the evening. ”

And Alpha Tyrion didn’t like when his hands touched my shoulder as he walked through the corridor.
