(Alpha King Sky’s Point Of View)

Gamma Albert must have mind linked the pack members because they already gathered around at the centre of the pack square to welcome me. My eyes surveyed the pack buildings and I couldn’t help but be honest that late alpha Zion did a good job of building a comfortable homes for his pack members.

Gamma Albert cleared his throat as he settled to speak. I and my men stood in front of the pack members. “Members of great crescent pack… please meet alpha king Sky of Donia Kingdom and also his men.” He introduced.

The pack members all bowed in respect. “Long live the alpha king!” Gamma Albert called out.

“Long live the alpha king!” They chorused.

“Please rise. So today, the alpha king is here with us and I am sure we would like to hear from him.” Gamma Albert said as he looked at me to address the pack members.

My eyes watched every wolf standing in front of me. They all had fears in their eyes for whatever has befallen their pack and no doubt they felt intimidated by my alpha presence.

I cleared my throat before speaking up. “I am sorry about the loss of your late alpha, the death of the beta, the abduction of your new alpha and also for what has befall your homes few days ago. Each soul lost in that battle didn’t die for no reason but for a loyal course. They died while trying to protect the lives of their loved ones and this pack. So I, alpha king Sky would do everything in my power to find those rogues and make them pay with their lives!” I let out a sigh of relief after I ended my speech.

No one said a word. Gamma Albert started clapping and the pack members joined in until he raised his hand up to silence them. “The alpha king has given us his words.” Gamma Albert said as he looked at me. “You have our full support, my alpha king.” He bowed and the rest did the same too.

“Please rise.” I instructed and they obeyed.

“You can all go back to your homes.” Gamma Albert said and the pack members started to leave but it didn’t go by without them murmuring to themselves.

Gamma Albert turned to face me again and he gestured to Cain to come close. ” Alpha king, I know you have met Cain but let me reintroduce him. Alpha king, please meet Cain, the head of warrior in our pack.”

Cain bowed to me. “It is good to see you again alpha king and I am grateful to you for sending your men to protect us.”

“I am glad to help.” I replied.

“Cain please go ahead and help our men in the infirmary while I attend to the alpha king.” Gamma Albert instructed. And Cain bowed again before walking away.

“Let us go to the alpha’s home.” Gamma Albert pointed towards a direction that my eyes followed immediately

“Your Highness!”

“Alpha King Sky!”

I heard two different nervous little voices calling out to me. Then when I turned, I saw a group of children looking straight at me.

“What is going on Laurence?” Gamma Albert asked with confusion in his tone.

A boy of about seven years old stepped forward. “Father, we want to have a word with the alpha king.” He replied with confidence.

“Come on son, this isn’t the time to joke around..” Gamma Albert placed his hands on his waist.

“We are serious father.” Another girl of about the same age spoke up.

“Laura-”

I silenced the Gamma when he tried to object to the children’s words. And it wasn’t hard to tell that Laurence and Laura are twins and the boy looks so much like their father.

“Speak children.” I instructed. And the children smiled happily and whispered into each other’s ears before looking back at me.

“Bow to the alpha king!” Laurence ordered and they all obeyed him.

“Please rise children.” I said and they all straightened up to look at me.

“Please save alpha Mia!” Laura spoke up and the others chanted.

“Please save alpha Mia! Please save alpha Mia! Please save alpha Mia!” The children chanted in unison.

Gamma Albert silenced them with his hands. “Okay children, the alpha king already gave his word that he will save our alpha.” He said

Laura stepped closer with her cute face staring up straight at me. “Alpha Mia said that you the alpha king is her mate, is that really true?” She asked.

“Laura, we agreed to beg the alpha king to save our alpha and not asking silly questions.” Laurence scolded his sister. The other children began to murmur in agreement to what the boy just said.

Laura turned to face her twin brother. “I do what I want!” She snapped at him.

‘Oh! What a short tempered kid!’ My wolf growled within.

“Children go…”

Laura interrupted her father. “Alpha Mia said you can’t accept her as your mate because -”

“Now that is enough!” Gamma Albert silenced her.

The other children began to laugh at her. Perhaps does everyone in the pack knows that I don’t want to accept my mate? Why did Mia tell such a thing to these young wolves? I pondered.

“Father..” Laura mumbled sadly like she was about to cry.

“There she goes again.. crying like baby.”

“She is such a crybaby.”

“What does she want the alpha king to think about us now.”

“We shouldn’t have bring her along with us.”

The other children commented while Laura eyes welled up with tears as she covered her face with her palm.

I crouched down to her size and removed her palms from her face. “Laura.”

“We miss her so much because no one is willing to tell us stories under the moonlight. Alpha Mia is such a great alpha but now she is gone!” She sobbed.

“Such a drama queen.” Laurence said.

“Save our alpha.” Mia cried out.

I reached my fingertips to her cheeks and wiped her teary face. “I will do my best to save your alpha.” I said in a calm tone.

“Alive?” She asked.

I nodded his head positively. “Yes… I believe with the help of the moon goddess, I will bring back alpha Mia alive.” I answered.

“Is that a promise?” Laurence asked.

“I was supposed to say that!” Laura snapped at her twin brother again.

“Oops sorry but we all agreed to talk to the alpha.” Laurence said with a shrug.

“I am the spoke lady here.” Laura shot him a glare.

“Alpha king.. don’t get me wrong.. I am such a nice girl.” Laura said with a pout.

I shook my head in agreement but my wolf disapproved it. ‘She is such a bad tempered kid.’ My wolf whimpered.

“I promise to bring your alpha alive.” I reassured the little girl again.

“Thank you alpha King!” The children chorused with bright smiles on their faces.

“Can I get a hug alpha king?” Laura requested with a puppy face. This girl must have a way of getting everything she wants with her cute face.

“That is too much to ask from the alpha king, Laura.” Her father cautioned her.

“Father.. I just want one hug from the alpha.. can I?” Laura asked looking straight at me.

“Albert, it is alright.. she is just a kid anyways.” Still crouching down to her size I spread out my arms to hug the little girl.

And then all of a sudden I started hearing a tiny voice in my mind. Perhaps is she trying to make a connection with my mind.

“Can you hear me alpha king Sky?” Laura asked after mind linking with me.

Immediately I went stiff in the embrace and then she figured that I could hear her clearly.

“Our alpha will make a good Luna in the future if only you will accept her. She will also be a wise queen and then I can get a chance to visit the Doni kingdom and spend some time in the castle. Alpha Mia said it is so beautiful.” Laura said with excitement in her tone.

‘Laura just sent us a telepathic message! Wow! I didn’t know such a bad tempered kid could have such gifts.’ Even my wolf was surprised. Laura is also a special werewolf.

Then Laura stepped away from me and folded her arms. “Don’t be surprised that I am sending a message into your mind. I am a special werewolf.” She smiled.

I couldn’t do or say anything but just stare at her with a dazed look on my face.

“Thanks for the hug alpha king Sky!” She said loudly with a bow.

I managed to smile as I got back on my feet. “Don’t worry children, I will bring back your alpha safely.” I said after clearing my throat.

Laura smiled at me before turning to face the other children. “So friends! The alpha king already gave us his words, so let us prepare for the arrival of alpha Mia!” She coaxed. And the children uttered words of appreciation to me.

“Now we can continue praying to moon goddess to protect her.” Laura addressed the children and they shook their heads in approval.

“Okay.. let us just go and pray then prepare for her arrival.” Laurence added.

The children turned to leave with only Laura left looking at me. “There is a reason why the moon goddess paired you with my alpha.” She uttered into my mind again.

And this time I knew it wasn’t just her talking. It felt like the moon goddess just spoke to me through this little girl.

“Go ahead Laura.” Gamma Albert said.

“Okay.. Father.” Laura bowed slightly before she turned to leave. “Peace… that is all I see.” I heard her say softly again.

Laura turned to face me again with a huge smile on her face and she waved before racing off. Flint of hope welled up wishing me at her words.

‘Oh moon goddess! The hot tempered kid is wise and it is surprising as to how a little girl could say such things.’ My wolf commented.

“My Lord, I am sorry about the kids.” Gamma Albert apologized.

“You have great kids. I think.. I like Laura” I commented.

Gamma Albert smiled. “Laura is a special werewolf like her mom who is the best theta we have in our pack. And my daughter can communicate with someone through the mind.” He said.

“I figured that out-” My voice trailed off immediately but it was too late

“Did she do it with you? Was it when she hugged you?” Gamma Albert gasped out.

I shook my head. “What did she say to you?” The Gamma questioned frantically.

“I think that should remain between us.” I replied.

“Oh okay.” Gamma Albert bowed apologetically before we resumed walking.
