In that moment, Boss’s lips curled back, revealing his sharp teeth. “Don’t worry. I won’t affect your plan,” he growled in a low, menacing tone.
“Okay. I’m glad to hear that,” Nelly nodded in relief, her eyes gleaming with a predatory glint. As long as he didn’t disrupt her plan, she couldn’t care less about his injury.
Although Boss and Nelly didn’t have any kind of relationship, her reaction to his words annoyed him. He shot her a meaningful look, his eyes burning with a feral intensity. He said nothing, but his message was clear.
With the assistance of his subordinate, he left the restaurant, his departure silently commanding attention.
Nelly remained seated, continuing to eat her food with grace and nonchalant poise. But beneath her composed exterior, she felt a mix of curiosity and bewilderment.
The conversation with Boss had revealed a conflict between him and Alpha Kilian, a conflict that seemed deadly. And if her guess was correct, Alpha Kilian was also in town because of her. She suspected that Boss and Alpha Kilian were still in contact with each other.
Her previous remarks had been carefully calculated to prevent Boss from discovering her connection to Alpha Kilian and stirring trouble between them. But her heart couldn’t help but race at the thought of the dangerous game she was playing.
Before leaving, Nelly had entrusted everything to Alpha Kilian’s care, including Alpha Wade. She had believed in his abilities to handle the situation. But now, she couldn’t help but doubt and question herself.
Alpha Kilian had followed her to the Forbidden Forest, defying all expectations. Nelly wasn’t questioning his feelings for her; rather, she lacked the self-confidence to believe that someone would go to such lengths for her.
Even now, doubts lingered in her mind. But she knew she had to clarify everything as soon as possible to prevent the worst-case scenario from unfolding.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Meanwhile, Dave had found a rundown hotel, far from prying eyes. The number of guests was scarce, but that suited their purposes just fine.
Late at night, Tony, Ben, and Thalia sat on the balcony, their minds filled with worry and uncertainty.
Dave finished a phone call and approached the trio. Tony looked up at him, hope shining in his eyes. “How’s everything, Alpha Dave? Did you manage to contact Daddy?”
Dave’s gaze turned serious as he shook his head. Tony’s hope wavered, disappointment etching across his face.
“I asked Miguel to track your daddy’s location, but no luck,” Dave explained.
Tony’s face fell. “Daddy’s phone is equipped with a chip. It can’t be tracked.”
Dave raised an eyebrow in surprise. “How did you know that?”
Tony stumbled over his words. He couldn’t possibly reveal that he had tried tracking his father’s movements before. “I… I just saw it by accident.”
Dave studied Tony, his silence filled with unspoken doubts.
“We can’t keep searching blindly, can we?” Ben interjected, breaking the tension. He turned to Dave, his eyes pleading. “Alpha Dave, do you have any other ideas?”
Dave met their gazes with a determined look in his eyes. “I do.”
Tony and Ben exchanged puzzled glances. What other options were there?
“We wait,” Dave declared, a hint of defiance shining through his words.
Tony stared at him, frustration etched on his face. “Alpha Dave, time is running out. We can’t afford to wait. We need to find Daddy and stop him before things spiral out of control.”
Dave’s voice remained firm. “Do you have a better idea then?”
Tony frowned, realizing he had no alternative solutions to offer. If Alpha Kilian didn’t want to be found, it would be nearly impossible. He was a skilled and capable man who could easily evade their tracking attempts.
Thalia, observing the exchange from her position, couldn’t help but sneer. The sound caught Dave’s attention, and he turned to face her. “Do you have any brilliant ideas?”
Thalia shook her head, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. “I don’t.”
Dave glanced at her, amusement glimmering in his eyes. “But you have a wicked suggestion.”
Thalia’s grin widened as she revealed her plan. “We may not be able to find Alpha Kilian, but what if we locate his car? We could just… burn it. Make him know we mean business.”
Tony and Ben exchanged glances, considering the idea. A malicious spark lit up in their eyes. “That’s an idea!”
Dave couldn’t help but interject. “Do you have any idea how expensive that car is?”
Thalia brushed off his concerns. “I don’t know, nor do I care. It’s not my car, anyway. There are only two units of that car in the world, and they’re worth over one hundred million each. You can’t buy it, no matter how much money you have.”
Dave’s patience wore thin. “What’s your grudge against me?”
Thalia’s voice turned solemn. “Personally, I don’t have a grudge. But organization-wise, it’s a different story.”
Dave chuckled. “Do you believe a car is more valuable than your best friend’s life?”
Thalia’s reply was unapologetic. “You-”
“Okay, okay. I did say it was a wicked suggestion. Forget I ever mentioned it. Alpha Kilian’s life and death have nothing to do with me.”
Ben nodded in agreement. “I believe you!”
Thalia couldn’t help but be touched by Ben’s unwavering trust. “Seriously? You believe everything?”
Ben’s response was earnest. “If you tell us something, even if it’s a lie, I believe it’s for our own good.”
Thalia felt a surge of affection for Ben. She wanted to have a child like him, someone kind and trusting. It made her heart swell with warmth.
