Alpha Kilian merely stood frozen on the spot. He could distinctly perceive the joy in Tony ‘s eyes as the latter gazed at him.

That was something he had never seen before.

“What’s wrong?” he inquired, holding his son’s gaze.

Upon seeing that he hadn’t left and was perfectly fine, Tony immediately shook his head. “Nothing. I’m just glad to see you!”

Alpha Kilian was rendered speechless.

When has he ever cherished me so much? This is the very first time. Has hell frozen over?

Right then, Ben was also watching everything from the side. Verily, he found Tony ‘s remark utterly nauseating.

When did he start flattering Daddy in such a manner?

Subsequently, Alpha Kilian swept his eyes over them both. “Have you had breakfast?” “Nope!” Tony shook his head.

“Go and eat something.”

“I’m not hungry, Daddy!” Tony stared at Alpha Kilian , contemplating how he should tell the latter about his plan.

“You two are still growing, so you must eat. If Nelly were to learn about this, she’d shove the blame on me again,” Alpha Kilian countered.

“I’ve got something to tell you, Daddy!”

“Put it on hold until after you’ve eaten,” Alpha Kilian asserted.

Tony ‘s eyes remained fixated on him. “Then, Daddy, you won’t be going out today, right?”

At once, something seemingly dawned upon Alpha Kilian . He looked right at Tony , his ebony eyes scrutinizing for more information.

Tony did the same. They both stared at each other.

A moment later, Alpha Kilian closed his eyes and admitted softly, “Not necessarily.”

Tony ‘s brows abruptly furrowed. “What does that mean? You’re going out, Daddy? Where are you going?”

Alpha Kilian eyed him probingly. “Why? Is something the matter?”

After pondering for a while, Tony decided to lay his cards on the table. “Regarding Nelly , Daddy, I’ve figured out a method.”

No sooner had his words rang out than Alpha Kilian frowned. “Hadn’t I said that you two are not supposed to get involved in this matter anymore?”

“But-”

“If you refuse to listen to me, I’ll have no choice but to have someone send you both back!” Alpha Kilian warned, glowering at Tony .

Tony went silent for a moment.

Aggrieved, he was just about to argue further when Ben saw that and instantly clapped a hand over his mouth.

Then, Ben turned to Alpha Kilian . Smiling, he explained, “Daddy, Tony has always been stubborn. Go and get busy. I’ll watch over him!”

Alpha Kilian nodded at him before he swept a gaze over Tony and left.

When the man had disappeared into the hidden room, Tony pushed Ben ‘s hand away and demanded impatiently, “Why did you stop me?”

“Why would you continue arguing when Daddy has already made things clear? Or were you really planning to force Daddy to send us back?” Ben retorted.

He has always been exceedingly rational.

To his surprise, a frown marred Tony ‘s countenance. He appeared to have something to say yet was hesitant to speak. “That’s because you don’t know…” He wanted to reveal the truth, but ultimately, he

swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue.

By then, Ben had noticed that something was amiss. He’s rarely in such a panic. There was only twice that he was in such a state. That was back when something happened to Nelly and Donna . This is the third time…

In a flash, he regarded Tony suspiciously and questioned, “Is there something I don’t know?”

Tony ‘s brows were knitted together, his lips pressed into a thin line. He wore a conflicted expression on his face.

“Also, you said something about Daddy earlier… What exactly were you trying to say?” Ben pressed, eyeballing him.

Still, Tony kept his lips pursed. He deliberated for a long while before lifting his eyes to meet Ben ‘s gaze.

“Ben …”

After mulling it over, he eventually told him about the conversation he overheard yesterday. Sure enough, Ben ‘s expression darkened in the blink of an eye when he heard it.

Tony inhaled deeply. “I initially planned to seek Daddy out and talk to him this morning, but I overslept. I thought he had left, so I was overwrought.”

Frowning, Ben paced back and forth.

Just when Tony was going to speak, he lifted his eyes and looked at his brother. “No, we can’t allow Daddy to go alone. What if he fails to save Nelly and even gets himself in hot water instead?”

“Do you think he doesn’t know that? But do you think he’ll give up saving her? Even if there’s a glimmer of hope, he’ll still go. Even if we were the ones in his shoes, would we not do the same, much less him?” Tony riposted.

Words eluded Ben .

Indeed, that’s the truth. But right now, it’s precisely because we aren’t the ones going that we can act as rational bystanders.

“Well, what are you trying to say then? Are we to simply stand idly by and watch as Daddy court… without stopping him?” Ben interrogated, the word “death” stuck in his throat.

He was likewise panicked then, so his attitude wasn’t all that pleasant.

At that, Tony glared at him. “It was because I wanted to stop him that I went looking for him as soon as I woke up. And I only told you about it now because I want to discuss it with you. Why are you in such a tizzy?”

“I’m in such a tizzy…” Ben swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue before enunciating, “I only think that this is a bit too cruel. Why must things be like this? If we don’t stop Daddy, disaster might very likely befall him. But what about Nelly if we do stop him?”

“That’s why we’ve got to discuss my plan together!” Tony declared.
