Chapter 244 Looking Back

The sentence below was attached, “Beware of Janice. If you want to find the truth, visit the First

Mansion in Imperial City.”

Sienna was puzzled. Who was this person, and why did she have her contact information? How did

she know Janice? Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

And what did Janice do outside her father’s hospital room?

Sienna didn’t dare to think further, but she knew one thing for sure, her father’s death was definitely

connected to Janice.

The person who sent the anonymous letter wasn’t malicious towards her at the moment, but they were

indeed not simple.

Even if Sienna left Imperial City, Janice wouldn’t let her off the hook.

Sienna clenched her fist, unable to hide her anger in her chest.

“Janice, I will uncover the truth and won’t let you get away.”

Early the following day, Sienna gathered herself and arrived at the company before the morning

rush hour to find Mr. Gunter.

“Mr. Gunter, does the branch project you mentioned before still hold weight?”

Sienna’s face was cold.

Underneath, anger and resentment burned.

Seeing her, Mr. Gunter quickly pulled out the plan. “Yes, it still holds weight. You’re here today…”

Sienna took the proposal with a blank expression. “Alright, tomorrow I will leave for Imperial City.

However, I have a condition and would like to hear your opinion, Mr. Gunter.”

Mr. Gunter, taken aback by Sienna’s swift response, had a grin that reached his ears.

“Tell me, as long as it doesn’t violate company regulations, I will agree to it all.”

Sienna’s face changed into ambiguity.

“I will take full responsibility for all the cooperative partners and negotiation matters in Imperial City.

However, regarding the transaction amount, I will report every cent to headquarters.”

“No problem. Since I entrusted you with the position of branch director, you will have full control,”

Mr. Gunter affirmed.

Sienna nodded. “Then I have no issues. I will leave for Imperial City tomorrow.”*

For some unknown reason, her calm voice held a tinge of indescribable melancholy.

Suddenly, a cool breeze blew through the office, sending shivers down their spines.

Observing Sienna’s unusual behavior, Mr. Gunter couldn’t help but stop her. “Actually, you don’t

have to rush like this. There’s still time.”

Sienna didn’t reply. She just nodded and left, closing the door behind her.

Mr. Gunter was left with a puzzled expression. “Her attitude changed so quickly…”

After a year, Sienna boarded the familiar flight again, heading towards the land where she had once

grown up.

However, her mind was completely different from when she had left.

James had already fallen asleep by Sienna’s side while Malcolm sat beside her.

Only Sienna rested her head against the window, quietly watching the increasingly distant yet

familiar scenery.

Soon, the plane safely landed at Imperial City International Airport. Sienna held James’s hand with one

hand and pushed the luggage with the other.

She gazed at this familiar yet unfamiliar place when memories flashed before her eyes.

Standing beside her, James tightly held Sienna’s hand and asked in a low voice, “Mommy, is this where

you grew up?”

Sienna looked towards the arrival gate and nodded. “Yes, this is Mommy’s and James’s home.”

James was curious about everything around him and bounced along behind Sienna.

“Mommy, where are we going now?”

Sienna paused momentarily, lowered her gaze, and after a brief contemplation, said, “Mommy will take

James to see Grandma. Is that alright?”
