Sharon bit her lip, unwillingly sitting beside Quentin.
Her gaze, shadowed with unease, occasionally landed on Leah.
Leah sensed it but didn't react, sitting quietly in her chair, waiting for the auction to begin.
Her demeanor was serene and as graceful as a swan.
Quentin glanced sideways and casually noticed Leah's elegant appearance. His fingers tapping on the armrest of his sofa indicated that he was deep in thought.
Since their divorce, Leah had become quite conspicuous.
He wondered if her previous meek and gentle demeanor was just an act.
As he pondered, the hostess had already taken the stage.
After some welcoming remarks, she began to introduce the first auction item.
"This item is a unique earring from the Fantasy Collection designed by a renowned foreign designer. There is only one pair like this in the world, with a starting price of 66,600 dollars. Ladies and gentlemen who are interested in it, please feel free to bid. Three, two, one, and the bidding starts now!"
The earrings were indeed beautiful, and their design was highly unique.
People started raising their plaques to participate in the bidding.
"Quentin, I think those earrings are stunning and would suit me. What do you think?" Sharon asked.
Quentin replied casually, "Bid on them if you like them."
"But..." Sharon bit her lip and hesitated, looking at Quentin.
Quentin, not understanding her hesitation, raised his eyebrows. "What is it?"
Before Sharon could respond, Maria explained in amusement, "Mr. Worthington, Sharon is making it so obvious. Can't you see? She wants you to win the earrings and give them to her." Blushing, Sharon glanced at Maria.
"Maria!"
While she said that, her eyes were on Quentin, the implication clear.
For Quentin, spending tens of thousands of dollars was nothing. Hearing their conversation, he cast Sharon a brief glance.
"Are you sure about this?"
Meeting Quentin's deep gaze, Sharon felt a surge of joy and nodded shyly.
"I really like them."
"All right, I'll bid them for you."
Quentin lifted his plaque and raised the bid, saying, "100 thousand dollars."
Sharon's eyes gleamed with delight, and she looked in Leah's direction trying to provoke her. Then, she emphasized her next line. "Quentin, you're so good to me."
Noticing Sharon's glance, Leah responded with a nonchalant smile, the corners of her lips upturned.
Then, seemingly having an idea, a cunning look flashed in her eyes.

Leah figured she would fan the
flames a little and make sure that
Quentin had to go all out.
Leah's smile grew even more pronounced as she slowly raised her plaque, taking her time to name a price.
"150 thousand dollars."
Quentin raised his eyebrows, turning his head to give Leah a cold sideways glance.
"Leah, what are you trying to do?"
"What am I trying to do? Quentin,
don't you find your question a bit funny? Of course, I have my eyes these earrings and want to get them Leah replied with a teasing look Is there a rule that says only you can bid, whereas others can't?"
Quentin furrowed his brows. "I never said that."
Leah shrugged. "Then it's settled. The highest bidder will get the earrings."
Quentin looked at her pensively, then turned his attention back to the bidding and promptly raised the price to 500 thousand dollars.
Leah glanced at him. As a challenge, she continued to bid without haste.
"600 thousand dollars."
