Chapter 22: Five Hundred Thousand, Leave My Daughter
Harper Murong was sent back home, and Olivia Xia returned to the small apartment with Xavier Si.
Inside the small apartment, the room's decoration and layout had all been completed, and the whole place looked refreshed. Olivia Xia nodded in satisfaction, "Not bad, young man. Do you have any money left on your card? If you're short on cash, let me know."
Xavier Si: "Do I really look like a kept man?"
"Not much spent; don't worry," Xavier Si replied lazily before silently heading to the kitchen to prepare some tea. He liked to joke about being a kept man, but he was quite capable in his own right.
Olivia Xia smiled and shook her head. She knew Xavier was teasing her, but she appreciated his sense of humor. As she settled into the newly decorated living room, she felt a sense of peace that had been missing for a while.
The sound of the kettle whistling brought Olivia back from her thoughts. Xavier returned with two cups of tea and handed one to her. "Here, this should help you relax."
"Thank you," Olivia said, taking a sip. The warmth of the tea and the comfort of the surroundings made her feel at ease. "You've done a great job with the place."
"It's nothing," Xavier shrugged. "I wanted to make sure you had a comfortable space to come back to after dealing with all the chaos at work."
Olivia looked at him, gratitude shining in her eyes. "I really appreciate it, Xavier. You've been a great support."
Xavier smiled softly. "I'm just glad I could help."
As they chatted, Olivia's phone buzzed with a message. She glanced at it and saw it was from her father, Mr. Xia. The message read, "We need to talk about the company's future. Let's meet tomorrow."
Olivia sighed, feeling the weight of responsibility once more. "Looks like my father wants to discuss the company's future with me tomorrow."
Xavier frowned. "Are you ready for that conversation?"
"I don't have a choice," Olivia replied. "But I'll face it head-on, just like everything else."
Xavier nodded. "Remember, you don't have to do this alone. I'm here for you."
The next day, Olivia met her father at his office. Mr. Xia looked stern, but there was also a hint of concern in his eyes. "Olivia, the situation at Xia Construction is worse than I thought. We need a new strategy to turn things around."
Olivia listened intently as her father laid out the issues and challenges facing the company. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to help her family and save the business.
"Father, I have some ideas that might help," Olivia said confidently. "But we need to act quickly and decisively."
Mr. Xia looked at his daughter with pride. "I trust your judgment, Olivia. Let's work together to fix this."
As they discussed their plan of action, Olivia felt a renewed sense of purpose. She was ready to take on the challenges ahead, knowing that she had the support of her family and friends.
Back at the apartment, Xavier waited for Olivia's return. He hoped that the meeting with her father had gone well and that they had found a way to address the company's problems.
When Olivia walked in, her expression was a mix of determination and hope. "We have a plan," she told Xavier. "It's going to be tough, but I think we can do it."
Xavier smiled and pulled her into a comforting embrace. "I never doubted you for a second."
As they stood together, Olivia felt a sense of strength and resilience. She knew that with Xavier by her side, she could face any challenge that came her way.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
