Chapter 23: She Is Jealous
Rex’s face darkened. “She called?”
After saying that, Rex reached out to snatch the phone, but Rosaria dodged and stared at him with her big clear eyes.
“Why are you so nervous? Brother, you really don’t love me. You didn’t even tell me about such a big thing as marriage!” Rosaria’s eyes turned red as she spoke. She lowered her gaze and said, “Brother, do you think that I can’t get out of bed right now? Is that why you dislike me and won’t let me attend your wedding?”
“Rosaria!”
Veins bulged on Rex’s forehead. He grabbed Rosaria’s wrist and pressed her to the bed, his voice was low and hoarse. “You’re my sister. No one will dislike you.”
“But……”
“We didn’t have a wedding ceremony.” Rex raised his eyebrows and gently covered Rosaria with the quilt.
“No wedding ceremony?”
“Well, marrying her is my life’s wish. Okay, sleep tight. I’ll come and see you tomorrow.” Rex gently rubbed Rosaria’s head, took the phone from her hand, got up, and left.
Rosaria tugged at his sleeve. “Brother.”
Rex’s heart skipped a beat when he saw her teary eyes looking at him. He saw the pink crystal on her white and slender wrist.
“Where did this bracelet come from?” Rex narrowed his eyes and asked in a low voice.
“Uh?” Rosaria told Rex what had happened that day. She asked him what was wrong but he didn’t say anything else. “It’s just that the bracelet looks very beautiful and quite suitable for you.”
Rosaria looked shy.
After coming out of the hospital, Rex strode out. Clare quickly followed him and pressed the elevator button.
“Mr. Gavyn, the butler just called.”
“What did he say?”
“He said that Mrs. Gavyn bought a lot of groceries at noon today and made a feast for you, but later when she called you in the evening, she became very disappointed and asked the butler to throw the dishes away……”
“Throw away?!” Rex’s exclaimed and the elevator rang. He walked in and asked in a deep voice, “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“You were with Miss Rosaria just now……”
“I see.”
Rex’s expression became complicated. “Huh, was this girl going to personally cook to thank me?”
When they got home, the dishes on the table had already turned cold. The butler stood respectfully in front of the dining room and said, “Young Master, Mrs. Gavyn asked me to throw them away, but I didn’t do it.”
“Hm.”
Rex smiled. It seemed that Wendy really put her heart into this meal. These dishes looked good.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
He took off his suit, threw it to the butler, and strode straight upstairs.
Wendy’s eyes were red and she felt a little wronged. At noon today, Rex had brought her along to demonstrate his might. She was truly grateful to him.
She even thought that she was so lucky to be with Rex.
Now it seemed that she had been thinking too much.
Rex opened the door. Wendy was startled and covered her head with a quilt.
The lights in the room were turned on and it was as bright as day. Rex walked over and sat down by the bed, caressing her hairy head outside the quilt.
Seeing that she had shrunk into the quilt, he said teasingly, “Are you jealous?”
The warmth of his broad palm traveled to her head. Wendy shrunk her neck, bit her lips, and did not say anything.
