Accidentally Married

Branch One Hundred and Thirty Eight

Jessica knocked slightly on the door and pushed it open. She barely entered the study because she was mostly not invited and books were really not her thing.

Xavier raised his head to meet her eyes and he smiled. “What brings you here?” he said standing up from behind the huge table that sits pretty at a distance from the door.

“Nice room” she comments looking around at the magnificent lined wall with shelves of different structures and types lined with books of all interests.

“Is that why you came here?” he asked with a smirk.

“No but I like the feel of the room” she comments and moves to sit on one of the sofas. He sits opposite her and waits for her to state her case. She obviously came into the room for a reason.

“I just got off the phone with Alicia and she is coming here soon”

“You can have guests over, I don’t mind,” he said as he rubbed his plan together. If she had guests over she would not be too bored. She could have those who would keep her company. He was always busy and he could not do that for her.

“Thank you?” she said in a question format. She was not there to ask him for permission to have them over.

“Anytime”

“Well, the reason Alicia is coming here is because Jason just broke up with her. I don’t know the reason for the breakup but I think you should check up on Jason too” she said before rubbing her skirt.

She stood up and waited for him to a anything. When he did not speak she nodded and started walking toward the door. “I’ll see myself out then,” she said out loud with our turning back.

Xavier was shocked at the news he had just received. Of all things to happen that was not what he had expected to hear. He could not say he had experienced true love from a female counterpart before but it seemed like what Alicia and Jason shared was real enough for any other person to believe in love.

He pulled out his phone and contemplated. If Jason was the one who did the breaking up then he might not need anyone to check on him. He thought hard when the phone ringing in his hand startled him back to reality.

Jason’s name flashed on the screen as it stared at him. He took a deep sigh and put the phone to his ear.

“Do you want to drink?” The question came to Xavier as a cry for help.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

“Drinking two days in a row? That’s a suicide mission. Why don’t you have pity on your liver?”

“It is not as bad as you are painting it to be,” Jason said with a hiccup.

“Are you drunk already?” Xavier asked shocked.

The sun was barely going down and it seemed like Jason was already fully drunk. “Where are you?” Xavier asked.

“Are you coming for a drink? Don’t you worry all drinks on me, I will be sponsoring it” he slurred.

“I am coming to take you out of there. At this rate, you might turn into an alcohol addict” Xavier complained.

“Why are you nagging so much? It’s giving me a headache” he complied as he banged his fist on the table. “Don’t come” he shouted before cutting off the call.

Xavier sighed in frustration. He was unable to get the information as to the whereabouts of Jason and he knew that if left alone, he wouldn’t stop drinking until he could not take it anymore.

Jessica entered the room prepared by the house staff. It was said they got a whisper of what was going on. The room was cozy. She waited outside until Alicia for there and she led her to the room.

“I feel so stupid,” Alicia said sniffing. She did feel stupid. She was not anti-love but it seemed like her original stance to be an independent woman because she knew if she was to get married she might have to step down from all she loved. How did she think he would be different?

“I mean can’t I be a woman and shine?” she lamented as Jessica who was beside her kept rubbing her back for comfort. “Being a woman sure is hard isn’t it?” she asked faking a laugh as she looked down.

She could not control the way the tears kept leaving her eyes. Leslie pushed the door open and saw them sitting in the bed.

“What happened? Tell me, tell us” Leslie said removing her coat.

Alicia took a deep breath and looked up at her

The tears kept coming down her face and then she sniffled. “What is wrong with me? Why am I crying so much?” she said out of loud as she sniffled trying to control the tears.

“We spoke about getting married and I told him I don’t think I will be able to leave my work and here to go to Crescent Bay. He did not seem pleased. I told him to leave his work and come over to Chiachester but that did not please him either. He’s expecting from me what it was that he could not give” she explained amidst tears.

“So what led to the breakup?” Leslie asked.

As Alicia was slowly telling her tales she made her way to the bed where they were and sat beside Alicia making her sit in between them.

“I hate it when men make women feel obligated to be the one to drop everything. He suggested the breakup. I thought he was different” she broke into h sobbing again.

“Why did think he would be different? He should have known that before he approached you. I mean does it make sense? He knows everyone knows how faithful and good you are at your job. Why then should you give it up? Because of a marriage that you might have to give up one day?”

Leslie’s full rant seemed like her energy was directed from somewhere else. Both girls looked at her in awe. She was usually cheerful and bubbly but the fact that she spoke that way meant something was wrong.

“We are here for me but it seems to me that there is trouble in hour paradise too,” Alicia said cleaning her face with the handkerchief in her hand.

By now she knows that her make-up is gone. She had spent so much you on makeup. She wanted him to like it. She wanted to look beautiful in his eyes. Why did she want to do so with someone who did not value or in the slightest respect her dreams?

“There is nothing like that,” Leslie said looking away.

“I was going to wait until everything blew over before I said it but now that Alicia had pointed it out I might as well speak about it,” Jessica said.

She went to the mini fridge in the room and opened it up. Roselle had delivered as she asked and it was full of a variety of kinds of ice cream.

“Any preference?” she asked as she picked a small bowl of vanilla ice cream.

“I don’t care just give me a big bowl,” Alicia said.

“I will have chocolate then” Leslie murmured.

Jessica turned to them with her hand filled with the ice cream bowls.

“We are going to have an intervention now”
