A Virgin for A Cold Billionaire

She Made Me Worried

Alexander Arlan Ainsley POV

I looked at the clock on the wall; it was already two in the afternoon. The work was usually done, but there would still be additional work, and I had to stay on standby until after work unless there was a sudden meeting. The atmosphere in this office was very boring, like something was missing in life.

I deliberately looked at my laptop. On the screen, Thomas had already updated the schedule, but there was no sign of additional internal or client meetings.

"Am I going to have a meeting outside today? The schedule has not changed yet and I am tired of being here all the time." I muttered in annoyance.

I quickly picked up the phone and pressed two. It was the assistant's number, and soon, there was a dial tone at that number. Before the third ring, I heard a voice on the other side, which meant Thomas had picked up the phone. Me: "Hello, Tom."

I felt like I was approaching boredom. Would it be better for me to buy coffee outside? No, I could not do that. That would set a bad example for the company's employees. A small mistake could have a big effect, as it could lead to a loss of authority as a boss and, of course, become a hot topic in the office.

Thomas Glekston: "Hello, sir."

I need to stay active to avoid boredom. If Letta were an employee of this company, then I would have told her to work in the same room so that whatever she did would always be in my sight. What was my girl doing at the hospital? She made me worried.

Me: "Are there any other documents I need to sign or is there a RM [1] who wants to see me?"Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

Whatever work was available and suited my duties, then I would do it! I felt restless because working was the only way to take my mind off Arletta. For me, business was still a business, so it should be separated as much as possible. Thomas Glekston: "There are no new documents yet, Sir. RM has also not contacted me to request a meeting with you."

I was disappointed when I heard Thomas' answer, but I could not linger. Why had work not come when I wanted to kill time? Whenever I tried to relax for a while, work showed up so often that I was confused.

Me: "Okay. If nothing changes, maybe I will leave the office early. I have another appointment outside."

The last sentence I said was a lie. How could I have another appointment? I wanted to leave the office early, curious about what had happened with my girl. Louis had not given me a report yet, so my curiosity was only growing. I would go crazy if I did not know about Arletta's progress!

Thomas Glekston: "Pardon me, sir, what time do you want to leave the office?"

I spontaneously turned to the clock on the wall. It was already half past three in the afternoon. What time should I leave? My work hours ended at five in the afternoon, but I felt like following Arletta to the hospital. Should I do it? The members of The Hidden Dragon did not know that I was the Godfather's adopted daughter because they did not want to be directly involved in The Red Opium. Still, Fiona's group and our group were enemies. Me: "I might leave around half past four in the afternoon."

I did not give a fuck with lying because there was no work today. I wanted to find a way to see Arletta again but in a safe way. That girl made me think of her all the time; this was the first time this had happened! Thomas Glekston: "Noted, sir. In that case, today I block your schedule from half past four in the afternoon until twelve at night."

Me: "Yes, just do it. If you want to sign a document or have a short meeting, you can do it right away. I do not accept any late submissions, let alone urgent ones."

Sometimes, RMs would ask Thomas to sign documents on the spur of the moment, even though I was already out of the office; this did not happen once or twice, but many times!

Thomas Glekston: "Yes, sir. If you have RM or want to see you, then I would say come here tomorrow, since you have a meeting outside."

I did not want to go back to the office just to sign a document, even if it was essential! RMs should be able to make the best use of their time; even if they have a lot of work, they should still know how to prioritize things. Me: "Yes. Thanks, Tom."

Thomas Glekston: "You are welcome, sir. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

I actually wanted to ask about how to approach Arletta with Thomas, but I was still unsure. Was it the right thing to do? What if she thought I was weird?

Me: "No. That is all."

I would better save all my questions until I get into Arletta's world. Approaching a girl, especially if she was Fiona's daughter, required a precise strategy to minimize failure. Arletta was a special girl; I must get her whatever it takes!

I quickly hung up the phone, looked back at the clock, and exhaled heavily. I reached for the cell phone that had been deliberately placed on the table, but there was no message from Louis. Was there a problem at the hospital? There was no way I was telling him to barge in there; it was too dangerous. It was like voluntarily giving your life to the enemy.

"Why do I feel strange? Has something happened to my girl? Louis has not texted me yet."

I looked at my phone again, and there were already many messages on the screen from people I had called 'friends'.

"What do they want? After bringing in that fucking whore in the club, no one apologized." I grumbled, looking away from my laptop.

I checked all the work emails and opened the unread messages. If I felt that an email needed to be replied to, I responded to it, but not all were treated that way. Most were CC[2] from RMs who sent important emails to clients.

From all the emails I have read, more and more RMs were chasing monthly targets, which was their obligation. Hopefully, every month, the RMS could try to sign MoUs with clients so that the products in this company were still sold and the company still got a high profit.

I rechecked the schedule, and it was blocked according to the time my assistant chose with the caption DND. I smiled because it was as expected. "Good. Thomas did a good job."

I heard a familiar voice on my cell phone. When I looked at the screen, I saw Louis's name on it. Without waiting any longer, I answered the call.

Me: "Hello, Louis. What happened there?"
