Chapter 475 The Agony of Lovesickness
Chapter 475 The Agony of Lovesickness
Bun turned her head around to look at Brian Ho with anger. How dared he say that she was stupid!
"You bad man! What did you say? Say it again!"
"No, no. Honey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean that..." Brian apologized as he tried to control his laughter.
"Huh!" Bun let out an annoyed sound.
Even though Bun had pretended to be annoyed, her face glowed with happiness as she bantered with
Brian. It seemed that Brian had been treating Bun very well.
Watching them kidding around endearingly, Linda felt relieved.
Bun turned around and was about to talk to Linda, but unexpectedly, she heard Brian mutter, "You don't
call me out when we're in bed..."
Instantly, Linda spat out the congee that she was having because she couldn't bear her laughter. Next
to her, Anna also covered her mouth, chuckling.
Bun's face and ears flushed bright red. She got angry again because of embarrassment. How could
Brian be so shameless to say it in front of others?
Then, Bun turned around and raised her fist. She wanted to punch Brian now.
Brian knew that he had said something wrong to irritate Bun again, so he immediately ran away to
dodge Bun's fist. He ran as he begged, "Bun, honey... I'm sorry... Ouch... Ah, ah..." NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
He knew that his wife was shy, so she would easily get angry with these kinds of jokes.
They ran out of Linda's room while playing around with each other.
Anna suddenly thought of something and told Linda, "Oh, right. My Lady, Lord Nalan called this
morning, but you were still sleeping at that time, so I spoke to him for you."
"Well, what did my grandfather say?"
It had been a long time since last time Linda had seen Lord Nalan. She always felt tired as she was
pregnant, so she didn't want to go anywhere. And a lot of things had been happening lately, which only
added to her tiredness.
"Lord Nalan said that if you are free tonight, please go to the Nalan clan's house to have dinner with
him. He also wants you to spend the night there."
Linda remembered that the last time she had seen her grandfather was on her wedding ceremony with
Charles. She felt guilty about not going to see her grandfather for all these months, so she asked Anna
to call him again. Then, she instructed, "Okay, please help me call him back. Tell him that I'll visit him
tonight and have dinner there."
"Yes, My Lady, " said Anna.
Linda had finished her bowl of congee, so Anna took the empty bowl out of her room and headed back
to the kitchen.
Linda then called Charles, but Paul answered it for him.
"Young Master is having a meeting right now. My Lady, what's going on?" asked Paul.
"Well, nothing important. Charles seems to be very busy these days. Why is he always having
meetings?" Linda asked.
Every time Linda asked Charles about his company's affairs, Charles would pretend that nothing was
wrong in front of her. But Linda could always see the weariness in his eyes after having come home
from work.
"Yes. Young Master is quite busy these days. My Lady, please forgive him being unable to spare more
time to keep you company. His uncle is stirring up trouble again..." answered Paul.
Charles had already mentioned his uncle to Linda before.
How much Linda hoped that she could offer some help to Charles! But she was pregnant, so she could
do nothing to help him. She could only support him and motivate him, so she told Paul, "Okay, I
understand. Please take care of him, and don't get him too tired."
Linda hung the phone up. She had to visit the Nalan clan's house by herself tonight. But she thought
that it might be better because she wanted to deal with her problems from the Nalan clan herself.
In fact, there was another major reason why Linda hadn't gone to visit her grandfather for so long. It
was because Linda didn't want to see Rosy Nalan and other people whom she hated.
She didn't want to fight against them during her pregnancy. She also didn't want to give those people a
chance to hurt her and her babies. She had to wait until her babies would be born safely and when she
would recover from giving birth. After she would get better, she would accept any challenge from them
and strike back. Now, her babies' safeties were the most important thing. If they would get hurt, she
would live in regret forever.
Linda had managed to move out of the Nalan clan's house. But she somehow felt sorry for her
grandfather because he spoiled her and loved her very much. What's more, her grandfather had saved
her life. If it were not for her grandfather, Linda would've already been dead.
Even though it was dangerous to stay in the Nalan clan's house, Linda thought she should still visit her
grandfather. Anyway, Linda wasn't afraid of anyone. She was stronger than who she used to be, and if
anyone dared bully her, she would surely get back harder on them.
It was a routine for all of the Nalan clan's members to have dinner together every now and then. So
Linda knew well that it wouldn't just be a simple dinner for her. She would meet Rosy and the other
family members. Actually, Rosy wasn't the greatest threat to her. Linda had to be more cautious of
Murphy Nalan because she was a two-faced woman. She would always smile in front of Linda, but one
day in the future, she would probably do something to stab Linda in the back. That sort of person was
much more dangerous.
Moments later, Brian and Bun had stopped their bantering and went back to Linda.
Brian walked up to Linda and said, "Linda, I have to let Bun stay by your side for a period of time
again."
Linda was surprised by his words. She thought that Bun would live with Brian since she was already
married to him. Bun had no need to stay by her side to protect her anymore.
"Why? You're married to Bun. She's your wife. You don't need to let her stay by my side anymore. I
have Ron and a lot of bodyguards to protect me now. They're enough for me, " said Linda.
"No, Linda. Actually, we were still supposed to be on our honeymoon. I had wanted to travel to more
places with Bun. But during our trip, I suddenly received an urgent and important mission, so we had to
end it earlier. I have to go on the mission today, " explained Brian.
He put on a gloomy face and affectionately looked at Bun, with his pair of charming eyes. He really
didn't want to be away from Bun so soon. It was such a tormenting thing for a newly married couple to
live apart that quick.
Linda knew that Brian always needed to go on confidential missions. Those missions were
commissioned by the state, so Linda didn't ask him anything about it. She nodded at Brian and agreed.
Bun would stay with her while he was away. Nevertheless, Linda was also happy about it. She could
spend time with Bun again. And, after all, she liked to be protected by Bun.
Bun's eyes were red with tears. She couldn't keep her eyes away from Brian as she didn't want him to
leave. But she had to say, "You bad man, finish your task as soon as possible and come back. I would
miss you so much..."
Bun was not the type of woman to say sweet words like these. Brain felt very moved to hear her say
them. He nodded and promised, "Wait for me. I'll try my best to finish it within two months. I'll come
back soon."
"Don't be sad. The distance would help strengthen your relationship. When Brian comes back, you will
love each other even more, " Linda comforted Bun as she saw that Bun was on the verge of tears.
Linda understood how sad it was for a new couple to part with each other. Back then, when Linda had
to be separated with Charles, she became very distressed, too, but she had no choice at the time.
After he gave a big hug to Bun, Brian turned around and started to leave. He walked slowly toward the
door as he turned his head around to look at Bun repeatedly at every step. Linda found it interesting to
see Brian like this. It was the first time she saw that look on his face.
Brian was a playboy before he met Bun. There were always women of different types around him, but
Brian had never truly fallen in love with any of them.
So, every time he broke up with a woman, he wouldn't feel sad. He didn't care about it at all.
Sometimes, when he had some urgent missions, he might even disappear in the middle of night all of a
sudden, without telling his woman. He would never go back to the same woman. Brian had hurt a lot of
women's hearts back then.
Now, Brian finally knew the agony of lovesickness. He really wished that he could finish his mission in
one second and return to Bun's side immediately.
Bun kept wiping off the tears from her cheeks even after Brian was completely out of her sight.
"Bun, don't cry. He will come back after two months. Time flies. It would soon be two months, " Linda
comforted her again and patted her shoulder.
"Yes, I know. But, My Lady, time is not a concern. I can wait for him. It's that... Brian's missions are
always very dangerous. I'm worried about his safety..."
