Chapter 408 Self Protection

Bun dared not make any moves with a gun pointing at her head, even though she was worried to death

about Linda who now had a baby in her womb, which had only escalated Bun's worry.

Anna felt somewhat guilty.

She had startled the evildoer by her rash decision. She wanted to have the cup tested and to tell

Charles about her findings when she had found out that the glass of water seemed rather dubious. It

had small, white precipitates at the bottom. Normally, purified mineral water didn't produce such

precipitates. It hadn't occurred to her that the person who wanted to poison Linda was inside the room,

not to mention Linda's stylists.

It was indeed a long-conspired plot.

There were still doubts in their minds. When did the stylists, or more precisely the assassins, get in?

"If you dare hurt Lady Linda, Young Master Mu would let you pay the price for it, " Bun threatened the

assassins.

But such warning was a joke in Ada's eyes. She just gave a faint smile and told Bun, "My dear, do you

think your threat would work on me? If it did, I wouldn't have been here in the first place. Sorry girls, I

can only say that I am only doing what I was paid to do."

"Who paid you? Who sent you here?" Unwilling to accept the current situation, Bun questioned her

continuously.

Ada's ability to lurk around Linda for such a long time without getting caught had proved the

shrewdness of the team behind her. Bun couldn't get anything from Ada at the moment because she

was too clever!

Linda stretched out one of her hands and pulled Bun, who was next to her. Her petty movement was

not caught by Ada.

Bun excelled at fighting with her bare hands, but she needed to be careful because she was fighting

against a gun this time.

"What do you want? Just spit it out. Let me know the reason of my death!" Linda's face was void of any

fear. Instead, it registered a warm smile which Ada found quite strange.

Linda knew that the only thing she could do at the moment was to buy them some time before 6:18 PM,

the auspicious time when the wedding ceremony would start. Once the clock struck 6:18 PM and they

were nowhere to be found, Charles would definitely be alerted. He would come look for them, and Ada

would be caught on the spot.

"We want nothing from you. It's just that someone has paid me to kidnap you from the wedding." Ada

liked how Linda was reacting to the situation, so she told her directly.

"Is that so? Then, who would want to have me kidnapped? How much am I worth?" Linda continued

her line of questioning.

Ada wouldn't answer that question for sure. She was professional in her domain, so she would never

give away the identity of her employer. She knew that Linda was a smart person, so she had a reason

for asking such a stupid question. Maybe she was delaying her moves.

Ada, too, had a sharp mind, so she told Linda straightly, "Mrs. Mu, I think you are buying yourself some

time."

"You got me, " Linda admitted.

Sitting on the chair, Linda put her hands on her legs with one palm on top of the other to cover the

dragon-shaped ring on her finger.

Now that Ada had exposed her intentions, Linda had to use the dragon ring on her finger to launch a

counterattack.

"It's not going to work. I know what you are waiting for. You are waiting for the clock to strike 6:18 PM,

aren't you? I'll bring you out of here before then."

Ada had seen through her plan. If Linda were to escape from this situation, she had to partner with Bun

by means of the dragon ring on her finger. It was her only chance of surviving. Ada had no idea what

the ring was made of. She took it as an ordinary ring, but it was actually a custom-made weapon

designed as per Charles's order.

There was a secret grid beneath the ring. Inside the grid lay a marble. Once pressed, it would shoot

straight forward into the air, generating a power commensurable with that of a bullet.

But Linda only had one chance to confront the calculative Ada, for she was supported by a professional

team. Linda was wondering whom she should hit with the marble for her to escape easily.

Later, the whole room sunk into silence. Two persons flanked Anna into the room and threw her next to

Linda.

Anna forced a smile on her face and told Linda, "My Lady, I'm so sorry. It is my negligence that has

brought you suffering."

Linda shook her head and smiled. She was thankful enough that Anna had figured out that there was

something wrong in that glass of water, or else she would have been taken away by Ada in the dark.

Ada herself didn't even see that coming.

If they dared come here today to kidnap Linda, they must have worked out a deliberate plan. Plan A

was to take her away without alarming others. Plan B was to take her away by force in case they failed

to launch Plan A.

the ears." Linda tried to initiate a conversation with Ada.
