A Vengeful Girl

Chapter 242 The Mastermind

Chapter 242 The Mastermind

Violet hesitated. Maybe Linda fell into the pond by accident?

"Aunt Violet, you know, I always behave myself when I'm at your house. I didn't push her. I'm not in the

habit of asking for trouble these days."

"Fine, The truth will be revealed sooner or later. Go home and rest."

Because "Linda" was pregnant, the fall wasn't a small issue.

But Amy's justification did make sense. Violet was in turmoil.

Worried about "Linda" and the baby, Charles rushed to the hospital the moment he receieved the news.

It had been three hours since the operation had ended.

Violet and James walked towards the doctor, as soon as they saw him.

"How is she?" Violet asked, anxiously.

"She is recovering but unfortunately, I have some bad news." said the doctor, who looked worried.

Violet's heart sank. Was there something wrong with the baby?

"What happened? Please speak plainly." said James, frowning while holding Violet steady.

"The baby has passed on."

"How can that have happened? She just fell into a pond! And we pulled her out immediately Why

couldn't you save the baby?" said Violet, her voice breaking.

"My lady, the only explanation is that she must have hit something hard against her belly because her

placenta detached from the uterine wall."

"Can't you please do something?" This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

The doctor shook his head. "Sorry, we can't. The baby didn't have enough oxygen and nutrition to

survive because of that."

Amy was scared stiff. She could never imagine that "Linda" would have sacrifice her child to trap her.

Obviously the doctor had been paid off by Adam.

When Lisa told the doctor what to say, he took it as Adam's idea.

He even felt pity for the young girl, who had to follow Adam's cruel instructions.

But it never occurred to him that this was her own idea.

Amy was then frightened. It seemed that nobody would believe anything she was going to say.

"Amy, get out of here!"

Amy was deep in thought, when Charles spoke to her.

She nodded, thinking that Charles didn't want to see her.

When she was approaching the hospital gate, her hands could not help trembling. What was going on?

She had already executed a perfect plan, almost winnning Charles back.

Linda was dead. But who was the girl in the hospital? Why did they look alike? Why did Violet and

James love her so much? Was the baby the reason?

Why couldn't she be pregnant too? Thoughts raced through her mind, leaving her in a state of

confusion.

But there was one thing that she was sure of. Adam was somehow involved.

Amy retrieved her phone and dialled a number.

A strange voice answered the call. Amy was told to wait for Adam's call when he was free.

When Amy got home, Amanda noticed her pale face.

"Sweetie, what happened? Didn't you go to your aunt's? You are not looking good. What did they say to

you?"

Amy frowned and ran to her bedroom. "Mom, please leave me alone. Don't worry. I'm just in a bad

mood."

"I told you not to go there. Are you jealous of Linda? I know how you feel. Take it easy. Charles is just

one star in the whole universe. There are many other good guys in this world..."

Amy slummed the door before Amanda could finish her words.

"Look at her..." complained Amanda to her husband.

"Just leave her alone. She must be feeling bad today. It's time for her to let him go. After all, Charles is

engaged."

Amy was in her room thinking about what happened

When her phone rang. The phone number was not familiar.

Somehow, Amy knew it was Adam.

The voice was gentle. "Lady Qi, what's wrong?" Adam laughed softly.

"Don't play dumb. You know why I've called. Who is the girl? Is she Linda?"

"Is she Linda? How would I know!"

"Stop pretending! How can you not know about all this?"

"Miss Qi, don't you remember that I brought Linda to you personally? Did she escape because of your

mercy? Should you blame me for that?"

"She is not Linda, is she? The real Linda is in the river right now."
