Chapter 9 Drunk
“Perfect!” Brendon nodded elegantly and continued, “That old man only wants money and nothing else. Do you want to compete with two women for attention? Not a good choice! Besides, don’t you already have someone in your heart?”
In short, Rashid was not an option.
“Thank you for your concern, Mr. Stuart!” Ranita gritted her teeth and quickly ran to the restroom.
Ranita stayed outside for about five minutes before calming down and returning with a calm expression on her face. “Sorry, I took a phone call and came back late.”
“No need to be polite! Mr. Stuart and I are enjoying some wine!” Rashid paused before admiringly saying with a smile, “I didn’t expect Mr. Stuart to have such good drinking skills. Truly admirable.”
Both Rashid’s and Amanda’s drinking skills were excellent, especially Rashid’s. It was rare for him to meet someone like Brendon who could not only drink well but also talk about wine together so he let loose.
Ranita watched them cheerfully clink glasses without realizing anything.
Ranita, of course, couldn’t escape and ended up drinking two more glasses. Alcohol began to take its effect, tinting her ears and cheeks with a rosy hue, like the petals of a peony bathed in morning dew, a delicate and captivating shade.
However, Ranita remained oblivious.
“Don’t drink anymore!” When Ranita picked up her glass again, Brendon reached out to stop her. He felt sensitive enough to notice that Rashid was looking at Ranita again!
He obviously hadn’t given up yet!
Brendon went back-and-forth with Rashid during dinner until even he felt dizzy by the end of it all. Amanda immediately kindly supported Brendon, “Mr. Stuart, you’ve had too much alcohol tonight. Why don’t you rest at Autumnhall Manor tonight?”
Brendon secretly frowned as Amanda’s perfume was too strong for his liking.
“No need! You guys can rest here! We’ll leave first.” Without showing any trace of suspicion towards Amanda, Brendon distanced himself from her slightly. He had slight OCD tendencies so he didn’t like staying in hotels outside his home in Kurima no matter how late it got.
“It’s already so late. Miss Bowman has been drinking as well. Why not stay here tonight?” Amanda tried hard persuading him.
She wanted to sleep with Brendon, and this might be the only chance she got. And besides, she added something extra into his drink when she poured it last time. If she let him go now, wouldn’t that just benefit others?
“Thanks for your kindness, Miss Amanda. Mr. Stuart’s driver is waiting outside. He will safely take us home.” After finishing speaking, Ranita smiled at Rashid, “Goodbye, Mr. Bassett.”This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
Here they went again!
Brendon felt a bit uncomfortable when he saw Rashid and Ranita exchanging smiles with each other, so he stretched out his arm and placed it on the woman’s shoulder, leaning half of his body against Ranita.
A light and familiar fragrance penetrated Brendon’s nostrils, and suddenly he felt a tingling sensation in his feverish brain. Some hidden thoughts in his heart seemed to have been stirred up as well.
Ranita frowned inwardly, but ultimately did not push the person away. She nodded at Rashid and Amanda before helping the man leave.
Ranita actually didn’t know if Brendon was drunk or not, but she was feeling a bit dizzy herself.
Brendon’s warmth against the skin on the back of her neck was accompanied by the scent of red wine, making her face and ears even redder!
Silent all the way.
Ranita helped him into the bedroom and said, “You rest here! I’ll go next door.”
They had already divorced and it was not suitable for them to continue living together.
The next moment, Ranita found herself tumbling onto the large bed with Brendon. He rolled over, placing his hands on either side of her head, looking down at her from above.
The closer they were, the stronger the taste of alcohol.
“Ranita, I want to…”
Ranita was trapped, her mind in a daze as she met the man’s turbulent and intense gaze. It wasn’t until later that she realized her scalp had begun to tingle, followed by a burning sensation behind her ears.
