A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 305 Dare to Touch Her and See

Because she liked him, even the corners of her lips were soft when she smiled.

Brendon reached for his pocket, wanting a cigarette. It took him a while to remember that he had quit smoking for quite some time now. Ranita was lenient with him, but she could also be stubborn about certain things, like not liking the smell of smoke on him.

At first, Brendon didn’t think about quitting. After all, in business circles, socializing and putting on an act was necessary. But after several times of Ranita coming back smelling like smoke and making him angry as hell, Brendon was convinced to try harder not to smoke. Even if he did get some on himself accidentally, he would wash it off before getting close to her. Ranita was easy to please; a few kind words would make her obediently soft.

“Sir? Do you have a reservation?” The waiter approached him and Brendon snapped out of his thoughts. He looked over again at the man beside Ranita who had just handed her a glass of water – handsome with meticulous attention to detail – as she sipped from it before holding up the bouquet of flowers for their photo…Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

“Sir!”

Brendon turned around and left.

Ranita felt good as she left the restaurant; she dropped Jedidiah off at the hotel along the way when suddenly she heard a familiar voice, “Big brother! Why are you coming back so late? I’ve been waiting here forever!”

“Chole?” Jedidiah jumped in surprise,”What are you doing here?”

Chole didn’t answer but instead looked at Ranita and said, “Ranita! I haven’t seen you in ages.”

Chole resembled Mr. Bowman, Benedict Bowman, with aggressive eyebrows that lifted menacingly when looking at people.

“It’s been too long!” Ranita pursed her lips and greeted Chole softly, “I didn’t expect you’d be here too in Kurima.” She paused then turned towards Jedidiah, “It’s getting late now. I should go!”

“Ranita, it’s rare we meet each other. Why don’t we sit down together for awhile?” Chole stared intently at Ranita, her gaze darkening which made her particularly scary.

Jedidiah frowned, pushing Chole aside, “It’s getting late, Ranita should go rest! Have you checked-in yet? If not, I’ll help you get your room.”

“Why are you panicking, brother! I won’t do anything to her!” Chole gritted her teeth because everyone in the Bowman family loved protecting Ranita which made her hate Ranita even more!

“Chole!” Jedidiah frowned, looking serious. “She’s your sister! Can’t you speak without being so aggressive?”

“My sister? What kind of sister is she… Don’t you remember the good things she did? I do! I don’t have a sister who wants to kill me!” Chole said, her eyes angrily fixed on Ranita.

Ranita pursed her lips and held her breath for a long time before saying coldly, “I have something to do. I’m leaving.”

“You stay put! I haven’t finished talking yet! Didn’t I warn you not to contact anyone from the family again? Have you forgotten?” Chole stepped forward and grabbed Ranita’s collar, her fingers almost scratching across her face!

“What are you doing?” Just then, someone rushed over and pulled Chole’s hand away forcefully. “Do it again if you dare?!”

Ranita looked at Brendon in confusion.

The next second, she was hugged tightly in his warm arms.

“You idiot. Can’t even avoid being bullied?” Brendon growled lowly at her. His voice wasn’t loud but the anger hidden within was obvious; she could even see the veins bulging on his neck.
