A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 152 Feeling Jealous

The environment was very comfortable but Ranita didn’t feel relaxed; instead, she stared blankly at his broad back.

“Dong!”

Suddenly, Ranita bumped into Brendon’s back.

“I’m sorry!” She realized what happened and apologized awkwardly.

“Walk properly.”

Brendon towered above, gazing down at her, with a faint light highlighting his fine eyebrows, giving him a serene and lovely appearance. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, and his voice was lower than before as he said, “Give me your hand.”

Ranita looked up at him in surprise, “Are you going to hold my hand?”

“You’re walking absentmindedly, I’m afraid you’ll fall down.” He found an excuse while gently pinching one of her fingers which hesitated before being caught by him anyway.

“Let’s go!” Brendon held her fingers, his fingers long and warm. They warmed her heart, and it became gentle and cozy. His tenderness was something she could never bear to resist.

“Alright…” Ranita followed his steps. Brendon walked more slowly than before, as if matching her pace, occasionally saying a few words. Ranita responded lightly and quietly.

Eventually, the conversation somehow circled back to her studio, and Ranita pursed her lips, her voice sounding somewhat down as she said, “Brendon, I’ve quit the studio.”

Brendon stopped walking abruptly because he knew exactly what that meant, “You’re not planning on staying in Kurima?”

Ranita pursed lips trying hard not show any emotion then forced out a faint smile asking rhetorically, “Why would you think that?”NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

“Will you stay in Kurima?”

Her decision to stay or leave depended on him.

But in the situation where she had to choose one, it seemed that the result of her not staying was already predetermined.

Ranita looked at Brendon, hoping to find a hint of reluctance on his face. But he remained calm and collected as ever.

“I don’t think whether I stay or leave Kurima would affect you,” she said.

Brendon continued to stare at her with his white shirt and black suit pants, looking like a piece of fine jade stone. His lips were naturally colored, like rose petals – bright and vivid. The top two buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned, revealing his collarbone when the wind blew.

He was cool and handsome all at once.

Ranita couldn’t help but be infatuated again.

“How do you know it won’t affect me?” Brendon said softly, sounding as if he had lost someone dear to him deep in his heart.

Ranita’s heart was stirred up by this remark.

“Losing you would be a loss for Stuart’s Corp.” However, the next sentence threw her heart into an icy pit, “You’ve helped me a lot these past few years.”

Ranita blinked slightly before turning around and walking forward. “I’ve been working every day for these past few years. I’m tired. I thought this would be a good opportunity for me to take some time off.”

“Is Greece your destination? Why did you choose there…” Brendon naturally shifted the topic back onto Ranita’s trip.

Brendon followed behind her but being taller than her allowed him to see down onto the nape of her neck when she lowered it.

Ranita’s skin was delicate too; under illumination from light sources it gave off an enchanting misty feeling that made Brendon unable resist wanting reach out and hold onto it.

“I like Greece so I want go there.”

Do you really like Greece? Is it because you love that place or because someone special is there? A sour feeling suddenly rose up within Brendon’s chest.

He had read through all those investigation reports before – Ranita met Dylan seven years ago while Steve only briefly crossed paths with them before they got married; Chris didn’t even meet them until after their marriage which didn’t match up with six years ago either…

So perhaps the person Ranita liked wasn’t even in Kurima?
