A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 118 Full of Holes

“Alright, if you want to cry, go ahead,” Dylan finally couldn’t bear to watch her anymore and gently cradled her head in his arms. “Crying is a good release.”

Ranita didn’t cry for long.

She composed herself and apologized to Dylan, “Dylan, sorry for embarrassing you.”

“I heard that emotions become fragile after pregnancy, so it’s not your fault! It must be the little one wanting to cry!” Dylan’s voice was soft like a gentle spring rain, particularly tender and soothing.

“Thank you!” Ranita smiled with her eyes curved.

“It’s good to see you smile!” Dylan changed the subject. “I recorded the scene of you crying earlier and will send it to Eve later.”

Dylan proudly raised his phone. “If you want me to keep my mouth shut, then show me what sincerity you have!”

“Dylan, don’t be too despicable as a person!” Ranita reached out and quickly snatched his phone away from him. She smiled charmingly with her eyes curved. “You also shouldn’t be too proud; look at how unhappy you are now!”

“Let me see what videos did you take?” Ranita spoke in a nasal tone that became gentle and warm while she arched her eyebrows smilingly.

“Give my phone back!” Dylan gritted his teeth but was unable to grab it back from Ranita who dodged him. Just when they were about to get into a scuffle, they suddenly heard an angry shout coming from behind them, “What are y’all doing?”

Ranita stared at Brendon in shock; her heart which had just mended itself shattered again as it skipped several beats rapidly.

“Brendon, why are scaring people so loudly?” As Dylan took his phone back from Ranita, he replied to Brendon, “Miss Murphy has injured her knee; doesn’t she need hospitalization and care?”

Brendon’s face turned dark.

“Please leave my wife’s room immediately!” The man’s eyebrows were cold while staring at Dylan like sharp swords unsheathed.

Dylan stood in front of Ranita with a smirk on his face, “Your wife? What kind of wife is someone who signed divorce papers?”

“Legally!” Brendon opened the door aggressively gesturing for him both out, “Please!”

“What can happen if I don’t leave? Let me tell ya something – Don’t bully Ranita because she isn’t alone. She still has me as support!”

“Support? Who do ya think ya are?” Anger surged through Brendon’s forehead causing veins popping up all over it, “Get lost!”

“Brendon,” said Dylan arrogantly, “Don’t mess around with me here! Do you wanna fight or what… bring it on…” He had already taken offense towards Brendon long ago which ignited his temper even more now!

Seeing two grown men about readying themselves for combat made Ranita give an eye signal towards Dylan saying, “Dylan, go first.”

Dylan saw the pleading look in Ranita’s eyes and immediately softened, lowering his fists and giving Brendon a fierce glare. “I won’t fight you for Ranita’s sake,” he said.

A tall shadow loomed over them.

Brendon grabbed her waist and dragged her to the edge of the bed, his eyes filled with impatience. “I told you to stay away from Dylan!”Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“Don’t I have the right to make friends?”

“What kind of friend are you to Dylan? A bedmate?” Brendon’s tongue was like a flame, full of anger. “You’re trying to make me sick with jealousy, aren’t you?”

Sick? Ranita felt like she had been stabbed in the heart.

–And what about you? When you were rolling around with Shannon every day in front of me, did it ever occur to you that I might be disgusted?

The words of accusation were on her lips but got stuck as she choked back tears.
