Chapter 394
Camila playfully hooked a finger under Connor's chin, smiling. "Five days have flown by, haven't they?"
Connor blinked slowly and replied, "Liar."
His playful accusation made Camila laugh. She cheerfully opened an app to book him a ride. After a moment, she said, "I ordered you a luxury car; it'll be here in five minutes." Once she finished, she texted Craig to come down and help with the bags.
Connor leaned in to kiss her. After a brief kiss, as he tried to deepen it, Camila gently pushed against his chest and whispered, "Craig will be here any second, behave." Connor gazed at Camila, his eyes filled with reluctance, murmuring, "You're going to miss me."
Camila nodded, her smile affirming his words.
Soon, Craig came downstairs and exchanged a handshake with Connor.
"Aren't you going to come up for a cup of coffee?" Craig offered.
Connor glanced at Camila, hope evident in his eyes.
Camila chuckled and told Craig, "He's got things to do, the car will be here shortly."
Craig noticed Connor's visible disappointment, chuckling to himself about how completely Camila had Connor wrapped around her finger.
"There are quite a few bags; I'll need to make a few trips. Just wait here," he said, picking up a suitcase and several bags of gifts, leaving Camila and Connor alone. Connor looked at Camila, a trace of sadness flickering in his eyes. He hugged her lightly, then grumbled, "Ungrateful girl, just wants to see me off."
Camila gently patted his back, soothingly saying, "Stop it. I'll look for you the moment I get back, okay?"
"Alright, take care of yourself," Connor instructed.
Camila replied, "You too. Eat well, and send me photos of every meal. For every meal you don't send, I'll delay my return by a day."
Connor responded, "Yes, ma'am!"
The ride-share arrived, and Connor got into the car and left. Craig finished moving all the items upstairs. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Cami, why didn't Connor come up?" Claire asked as she saw Camila coming upstairs alone.
"He had to rush back for some work. But he did bring lots of holiday treats, very thoughtful of him," Camila responded.
She looked at the table filled with gifts, "I'm not sure what all Connor has prepared; let's check and later head to the supermarket to see if we need to buy anything else.
Craig and Cole began unpacking the gifts, each item sparking admiration. "Bird's nest, fish maw, ginseng cigarettes, liquor... all top-shelf items!"
Craig joked, "These gifts are like he's trying to impress on a first visit to propose." Camila smiled shyly, feeling very sweet inside.
In the evening, after dinner, they all went to the supermarket to buy some holiday sweets.
Cole and Craig pushed the cart, while Claire and Camila picked out various holiday treats.
"Do your parents like these colorful candies?" Claire asked, picking up a bag of brightly colored candies.
Cole nodded with a smile, "Yeah, they love these sweet treats."
Claire added the candies to the cart and then picked up some chocolates. "Let's get some chocolates for the kids too."
As they queued to pay, Cole and Craig walked ahead, while Camila and Claire walked arm in arm behind them.
Claire noticed a shelf of condoms
and said earnestly to Camila,
