Chapter 345

“You’d better not move or my men won’t even blink when they pull the trigger.” Luke narrowed his eyes slightly, seemingly horrifying.

Vincent stood still with a cold face. What he needed was to buy time, not intensify the conflict.

Queena finally recovered from coughing. At that point, her face was drenched, and her clothes were wet. She looked pitiful. Raising her chin, she glimpsed Vincent, tears welling up her eyes.

“When did you get here, Vince?” Queena looked around, her voice clearly sobbing.

She remembered a van suddenly pulling up behind her when she was about to go home after the game. Then, several men got out and covered her mouth with a cloth. Before she could call for help, her consciousness faded.

Seconds before she passed out, she was so scared that she even thought of drafting a will. Seeing Vincent kidnapped alongside her upon coming around made her even more panic. She wanted to get to Vincent’s side, but the drug effect in her body had yet to wear off. It was as if all strength had left her body as she collapsed right back.

“Queena, are you holding up okay?” Vincent asked worriedly.

Queena had no idea that it was the aftereffect of roofies. Frightened, she bawled her eyes out, regretting her own willfulness that had gotten Vincent in a soup as well. “Sorry, Vince. I should’ve listened to you instead of being playful.”

Hearing that, Vincent looked in the direction of Luke and comforted Queena softly, “It doesn’t matter. This jerk must’ve been targeting us for a long time. Others would’ve taken your place, anyway.”

“Tsk, tsk. What an affectionate display of kinship,” Luke applauded and interrupted them. He squatted down in front of Queena, reached out to pinch her jaw without mercy, and jeered at her, “But do you know that this Chad’s willing to put your life on the line to protect the love of his life?”

Luke’s grip was so strong that Queena only felt her jaw was about to break. Even though she was scared to death, she still stubbornly looked Luke in the eye. “I know who you are. You plotted against my brother back then, and you think I’d buy your lies?”

“Welp, as expected of a childish lass.” Luke used his finger to draw on Queena’s face while sporting a disgusting mien. “Do you know why I kidnapped you but haven’t touched you yet? Because I think the now you is the most valuable. At that time, my request was to ask the ones responsible for oppressing Blake Group to kneel before me and beg for my forgiveness, and then tell your brother to bring Mila to take your place. So much for bringing Mila here.”

Luke forced Queena to look in Vincent’s direction and then whispered, “Check out that look. He doesn’t seem a lick willing to give up anything.”

After saying that, Luke lowered his head and sniffed Queena’s body deeply before beaming with satisfaction. “You smell so good! You must be a virgin. You know what, I’ve had a change of heart. Since your brother isn’t ready to concede, you’ll stay with me as my lover. I promise I won’t mistreat you. After all, I’ve never had a whale of a time with such an innocent, pure lady.”

On the heels of that, Luke kissed Queena on the cheek.

“Stop right there!” Vincent roared angrily, disregarding the gun pointing at his back. All he wished was to head over and save his sister from that scumbag.

“Hold him down.” Luke smirked smugly as he dished out an order to his subordinates in an icy tone.

For a moment, a dogfight erupted in the hall.

Although Vincent was alone, he was well–trained since childhood, so he could still hold off those bodyguards.

Right then, Hallet happened to be hiding on the stairs. He looked at what was happening downstairs and felt enraged. He reached for his belt, his gaze grew grimmer. To think that Luke dared to make a pass at Queena, the one he had yet to kiss.

Hallet took out a long silver needle from the hidden pocket in his belt, which could kill just as well as save lives.

He and Cynthia learned medicine from their mentor when they were at the border, which included maneuvering silver needles. However, he was not into medical skills back then. In every class, he would fool around, thus learning very little in the end.

Facing Luke, who was quite far away from him, Hallet was not that confident. Still, no matter the success rate, he had to give it a shot. Never could he let that beast lay a filthy finger on Queena.

Hallet shot out the silver needle quickly with full strength.

Luke suddenly felt a sharp pain in his wrist and uncontrollably let go of Queena. He pulled out the silver needle on his wrist and scanned the surroundings vigilantly.

Hallet had long hidden away.

Vincent, in turn, was forced to a corner. Seeing that Queena was okay, he stopped putting up a fight.

Angry, Luke grabbed the silver needle and questioned, “Did you do this?” Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Vincent raised his eyebrows as he looked at the silver needle, which was twice as thick as a regular needle. He could already guess it.

Back in the car, Cynthia told him that Hallet had been guarding outside. In Vincent’s book, it seemed that Hallet was already in.

Vincent showed no expression and played along. “Why? Since you wanna take advantage of Queena, you should suffer some needle work.”

Luke was but a boor. Having zero belief in traditional medicine, he would never be convinced of the power a silver needle could bring.

He sized Vincent up, appearing to be examining the truth of his words.

Moments later, Luke burst out laughing. “I’d never peg you as an embroidery buff after so long.”

“Care to have some taste of it?” Vincent said coldly.

Luke fell silent for a moment and ignored Vincent. Subsequently, he gestured with his hand and summoned his subordinates. After he whispered something to them, the group skedaddled off.

Meanwhile, a group of people assembled quietly not far from the mansion. The men were dressed in uniform and armed.

Liam alighted the vehicle and planned to join the rescue team.

Watching the surveillance footage on the computer, Cynthia felt disheartened. Fortunately, Hallet’s needle hit the bullseye. Otherwise, it would be unthinkable.

She watched Liam get out and wanted to join him.

However, the man locked the car upon leaving.

Cynthia knocked on the window and eyed Liam outside in confusion. “Why did you lock the door?”

Liam lowered the window a tad and cooed, “Cynthia, it’s too dangerous. It’s safer to stay in the car.

“I also wanna save Queena. With my skills, amateurs can’t hurt me. Let me out.” Cynthia panicked.

When she was at the border, she encountered all sorts of danger. The evil back there was much more malicious than the upcoming danger. Random grunts were never her match, or so she thought.

However, no matter what Cynthia said, Liam was still worried. He handed the car keys to his men next to him and ordered, “Watch her.”

He then bolted off with the rest.

Cynthia hammered the window angrily and glared in the direction Liam went, puffing her cheeks.
