A kiss

Love’ss 193

Chapter 193

It was already 11:00 pm when Andrew went upstairs. At the sight of Madelyn’s gloomy expression, he recalled what Roger and Kevin had said earlier, and his gaze darkened.

He approached her and wrapped her in his arms,

“What’s wrong? Who’s upset you, darling?”

With Easton and Elijah’s situation looking grim, he wondered if she could have possibly been worried about them. The thought made Andrew’s breath catch slightly.

Madelyn grabbed his wrist and turned to face him while her hands instinctively wrapped around his waist.

“Darling, has Jackson lost his mind? Mrs. Sinclair is fine now, so why is he still going after Carrie?”

Andrew was taken aback to learn that she was upset because of Carrie, not Easton. The tension in his chest eased slightly.

Madelyn always made his heart race. He smoothed her slightly messy hair.

“Did Carrie call you?”

Madelyn nodded.

“Yes, she did. She said she’s pregnant now, and Jackson is chasing her so closely behind that she doesn’t even have time to go to the hospital.”

Madelyn grew increasingly worried at the thought of Carrie. In her previous life, when Carrie was pregnant, her relationship with Jackson had been great.

Although Madelyn didn’t know what happened to them afterward, the situation was clearly tense and completely different from before. Madelyn was genuinely worried that the good things that had shifted could lead to bad outcomes.

Andrew finally understood why Madelyn was so worried about Carrie.

“She’s pregnant? With Jackson’s child?”

Andrew knew very well what kind of person Carrie was. Despite being different from Madelyn, it didn’t affect their peaceful coexistence. Now that Madelyn said Carrie was pregnant, Andrew was very skeptical about the child’s paternity.

“It’s Jackson’s,” Madelyn asserted.

‘Does Jackson know?”

‘He probably doesn’t. Carrie is avoiding him as much as possible.”

She had mentioned telling Jackson, but Carrie simply shapped at her earlier.

“Tell her to inform Jackson. Maybe for the child’s sake, Jackson and Mrs. Sinclair will let her off.”

Madelyn disagreed with his idea. Although she did suggest Carrie try telling Jackson, Andrew didn’t understand Jackson. He was cold and ruthless.

There had been some sort of agreement between him and Carrie when they were together. In her previous life, the agreement had been torn up when Carrie had his child. Now, that agreement likely still existed. The conditions clearly stated that Carrie couldn’t fall for him or bear his child.

The thought gave Madelyn a headache..

“Alright. Carrie may be unreliable, but she’s quite experienced in handling things. You don’t have to worry

about her.”

Andrew was right. Seeing how effortlessly Carrie managed her work proved she was adept at social dealings. Now that she had just discovered she was pregnant, she was unsettled and had called Madelyn. But once she calmed down, she would surely know how to handle the situation.

Andrew noticed Madelyn was still wearing her work clothes. He helped her take them off and then carried her to the bathroom.

Madelyn’s worries about Carrie were thoroughly disrupted by Andrew, leaving her no energy to think about anything else.

The next morning, Andrew noticed her packing some food into a lunch box at breakfast and frowned.

“Are you taking that to eat at the office?”

“No, it’s for Serena.”

“The kid you met at the hospital?”

Andrew raised an eyebrow. He was surprised that Madelyn cared so much about the child.

Madelyn nodded.

“She said she missed me yesterday. So, if you’re busy in the morning, you can go ahead. I’ll drive myself to the hospital first and then to the office.”

Andrew’s eyes flashed with displeasure as he sensed that Madelyn might be getting deceived.

But he didn’t press further since she was simply covering a child’s medical bills.

He checked the time and said, “I have an urgent meeting soon, so I can’t wait for you. Have the driver take you.”
