Chapter 544: It Turns Out to Be a Surprise
Chapter 544: It Turns Out to Be a Surprise
It takes Leigh quite a while to suppress his anger. He fills a bowl of chicken soup and feeds it to her
one mouthful at a time.
Perhaps because there is nothing in her stomach, or because the chicken soup is not heavy, Jessie
doesn't vomit after having it all drunk. Leigh seems less worried.
After dinner, Leigh takes Jessie upstairs.
They sit on the sofa. Leigh holds her hand and asks softly, "Little Fairy, tell me, did you ask for the
abortion or something bad happened?"
Leigh feels a sudden move in his palm, so he turns to look at Jessie. She lowers her head and looks
stiff.
He knows something must have been wrong. Then he asks again, "Tell me about the babies, OK?"
"..."
Seeing that Jessie lowers her head silently, Leigh feels anxious.
He holds Jessie's hands tightly and says, "Tell me and I'll let your uncle and aunt go."
Jessie immediately asks him, "You really have them kept?"
" ... Yes." Leigh realizes that something's going wrong with her and he tries to ignore it, "Tell me, where
have you been on my birthday, and what has our kids killed, okay?"
"I..." Jessie moves her lips and mumbles.
Leigh leans over and hears her say, "I went to Daisy's shop the other day to ask where Chloe was. I
didn't expect to run into Jana when I left..."
Leigh holds his breath and asks with patience, "What happened then?"
"We talked in the security corridor. She said she knew I got close to you with a purpose and threatened
to tell you about it. I told her to go to you if she wanted. I tried to leave and then she pulled me back
and gave me a push."
Jessie feels a sting when she reveals something she has tried to suppress. Soon, tears flowed along
her cheek.
Her eyes are filled with tears and her voice chokes, "I didn't want to kill them. I begged the doctor to
help me, but the doctor said that there was nothing he could do. I'm sorry ... I didn't protect them well."
Leigh doesn't expect to lose their babies this way, and he is in a daze for quite some time.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"When you found me, I wanted to tell you, but you didn't even give me a chance." Jessie's eyes are
filled with tears, and her crying voice gradually becomes hoarse. "I know you hate me. Since the kids
are gone now, you must want it done between us as well."
Leigh puts his head on her hand and blames himself, "I'm sorry, I didn't know..."
It is his anger that has blinded his mind, and he has always thought that she killed the babies in
revenge for him.
It turns out that the babies were a surprise to him, and she has never thought of killing them.
Thinking about how he has imprisoned her, tortured her, and humiliated her because of this
misunderstanding, Leigh feels sorry and deeply blames himself.
"I will never lose my temper to you again, I swear." Leigh kisses her tears and says, "I will definitely
cure your eyes. Let's take good care of this baby together."
His eyes turn aggressive and are filled with bone-chilling hatred, "Little fairy, don't worry, I will definitely
catch that woman and make her pay for what she has done to you!"
Jessie is not at ease with his words. She only asks him cautiously, "I've told you everything. Can you
please let my uncle and aunt go?"
Leigh gazes at her and said in pain, "Yes, I will let them go."
Jessie's brows then relax as if she were relieved.
Leigh helps Jessie to take a bath and then goes to dial his assistant.
First, he asks him to look into the case of Jessie. If the footage doesn't work, then maybe he can try to
bribe the officers. As long as he can get the clues, it doesn't matter how much money it will cost.
Besides, Leigh also wants him to locate Jana.
That woman actually dared to meet him at the clubhouse right after murdering his babies. She told him
about Jessie's plan. He was so stupid then that he did buy her story.
If he can't kill that woman, he will be a Dutchman!
Leigh keeps wandering at the window. He seemed extremely hostile and aggressive. He is afraid that
he would scare Jessie, so he keeps trying to calm down.
Having calmed down, he lays down his phone and heads to the bathroom.
He helps Jessie get out from the bath, get her nightgown on, and lay in the bed. Then he takes a
shower as well.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
When he comes out, Jessie is lying in the bed. It seems that she has fallen asleep.
He wipes his hair dry with a towel and walks over gently.
Just as he lifts the quilt, Jessie opens her eyes and looks at him, though she can't really see him, "Are
you going to sleep?"
"Yes." Leigh lowers his head and kisses her cheek, "Good dream," he says softly.
But Jessie reaches out and crosses her arms around his neck. She isn't intended to let him go.
Jessie lifts her body, gets to his lips, and then gives him a tentative kiss.
They are very close. Leigh can smell the citrus fragrance in her hair and a faint body fragrance, which
causes a ripple of excitement in his body.
Jessie notices that he doesn't respond, so she leans over and kisses him again.
Leigh can no longer hold himself, he presses her on the bed cautiously and kisses her hard.
Sniffing the fragrance from her body, his entire body becomes even more excited.
Her skin feels soft and delicate, but tense.
Leigh turned sober immediately.
He raises his head and finds that Jessie's hair is scattering on the pillow. His brows are tightly knitted,
which is an obvious sign of discomfort. However, she bites her lips tightly and tries not to make a
sound.
Seeing her torturing herself, Leigh feels no longer excited at all.
He separates her lips, not allowing her to bite them again, with a gloomy expression on his face.
He hates the way she is now!
She's just like a puppet, doing whatever he wants her to do. She seems willing to do whatever amuses
him.
"What are you doing now!" His chest slightly rises and falls. He grits his teeth and says, "Look at you
now...you are no longer yourself!"
Jessie closes her eyes and doesn't say anything.
Leigh feels even worse. He is afraid that he may lose control if he stays here any longer. He gets out of
bed and slams the door.
He goes to a second bedroom, takes a pack of cigarettes, and stands on the balcony, smoking them
one by one.
As long as he recalls what Jessie looked like just now, he feels irritated.
What he needs is a person who gets mad, laughs, hits him, and scolds him, not a puppet, lying there
obediently and not say anything even if she doesn't feel well!
Leigh smokes so much that he begins to cough, with a sting from inside.
He squats down and covers his eyes with his hands, feeling much sadness and sorrow in his heart.
He apologizes and doesn't lose his temper anymore. He keeps talking to her gently and coaxing her.
However, he doesn't know how to bring that lively happy girl back.
Leigh stands silently on the balcony, feeling the cold breeze.
He stays with himself until he hears the maid.
Only then does he realize that the sky's awake.
Leigh looks down from the gap and sees the two maids chatting while working.
He doesn't know what they are talking about specifically, only to see one showing her ring on her finger
to the other.
She seems older, with a gold ring in a rather classical style.
