Chapter 521: Why does She Love You?

Lily's face changes. "What the hell are you doing, Louis?"

"You go up first. I have something to talk with him."

"What's there to talk about? Let him go!" Lily reaches out to pull Louis away. "We have broken up. Can't

you just let me go? I beg you. I promise to give you two of our children."

Louis does nothing to stop her, afraid that she will get emotional, which isn't good for both the children

and her.

"Go up, Lily." Louis' dark eyes stare at her in a domineering way. "I won't do anything to him. I just want

to talk with him. Let's talk about us another time."

Lily grits her teeth.

Before she can say anything, Louis adds lightly, "I know the VAM between John and his brother. Don't

make me do anything to ruin it."

The man is threatening her!

"Louis, you bastard!" Lily's face darkens and she says angrily, "I won't eat even if I starve to death

tonight!"

After that, she turns around in anger.

Louis gets a headache and rubs between his eyebrows with the other hand.

After Lily enters the apartment building, he releases John and says. "Shall we find a place for a drink

and then chat together?"

John knows that he can't enter the building with Louis around, so he agrees reluctantly.

Louis drives them to Leigh's club.

Seeing Louis come here with someone, the waiter arranges the best private room for them and serves

the drinks Louis likes.

Louis picks up a bottle of red wine and tops John up.

"Mr. Smith, I didn't expect you to be this kind of person." John grabs the wine glass and sneers. "How

could you take Lily from our wedding? That's despicable!"

Louis says, "On your wedding day, I was going to Country XL on business, but Justin called and told

me that there was something wrong with Lily's pills. I was just afraid that something would happen to

her and the children."

Fortunately, he answered the phone and immediately went to look for Lily in the church.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to know that she is pregnant with his baby and would regret it

for the rest of his life.

"You killed her brother and now take pity on her after your breakup?" John scoffs. "Mr. Smith, that's

ridiculous."

Louis suddenly looks at him with sharp eyes. "Lily doesn't know about her brother going to Country Y to

kill Jonathan. How did you know?"

"I also have my men in Country Y, so what's so strange about this?"

"Jonathan's people have been spying on you. If you know about this, he will know that someone wants

to assassinate him and then get prepared." Louis's tone becomes cold. "You learned it from other

sources."

John admits directly. "Yeah, you're right. But Mr. Smith, do you think now is the time to argue with me

over this? Aren't you the person who killed her brother?"

"I underestimated you." Louis reveals a meaningful smile. "You could even have your men around me."

After a pause, he adds, "Yes, we shouldn't have argued over this now. We need to talk about

something more important. You'd better dismiss the idea of having your wedding with Lily again,

because I won't agree with it."

Hearing this, John is infuriated.

But he does not lose his temper in front of Louis and calmly says, "It's not you but Lily who can decides

this."

Louis smiles. "Then don't bother doing that. She is pregnant with my children, so I need to shoulder the

responsibility and marry her."

"You're just trying to force her to stay with you, aren't you?"

Louis says, "There is a misunderstanding between us, because of which she hates me and I thought

that she had betrayed me. But it'll be fine after we clear the air. Besides..."

He glances at John and sneers. "Do you think you can threaten me with just a video? I know her very

well. If something had happened between you two, she wouldn't have returned to Yorkshire."

After he calmed down, he didn't take the video seriously.

All he wants is that Lily can trust and love him, and he can forget about everything that happened

before.

When he thought of that video later, he always felt that Lily didn't look right. Moreover, it had been

deleted, so he guessed that John just sent it to him as provocation.

John's heart sinks, the corner of his mouth twitching. "The capable Mr. Smith indeed. No matter when,

you can always think clearly. I admire you!"

"I really want to punch you in the face to vent my anger, but I can't," Louis says calmly, "and I have to

thank you for taking care of her abroad."

He lifts his glass to John's and says, "And also protecting her when I lost my mind and wanted to shoot

her in Country F. Thank you."

He then drinks up the glass of red wine.

Lily might be pregnant at that time. If John hadn't protected her, she would have miscarried.

Louis thinks if he really hurt her, he would regret it for the rest of his life.

"Why?" John holds his glass tightly with a gloomy expression. "I'm just as good as you. I met and fell in

love with her before you. Why does she love you?"

He stays with Lily and knows what she does every day.

She smiles, but he can notice the sadness on her face. She said that she would marry him, but she

doesn't love him.

Even though she stood in front of the priest and held his hand, he didn't have a place in her heart.

She only loves Louis.

When Louis tried to take her from the wedding, she hid behind him silently, but he noticed that her

hands were trembling. That means she's afraid to see Louis because she cares about him.

If not so, she would have just looked at Louis and smiled at him.

At that time, he would rather be laughed at than see Louis take her away, because she might not come

back to him.

In that case, he couldn't get Lily to love him, nor could he keep her around him.

Louis pours himself some wine and replies, "Because you don't know what she wants and like to keep

everything to yourself. But I hope she knows what I do."

"If she likes something or wants to do something, I won't stop her just because it's dangerous. I will

encourage her, instead. If something happens, we will take the consequences together."

"I may not show my love for her directly, but I will pay attention to what she needs and let her do

whatever she wants. She doesn't have to do anything that makes her unhappy and also change

herself."

While speaking, Louis laughs. "Actually, she also taught me a lot. For example, you won't be able to eat

anything delicious if you are picky about your food. Or love is actually a simple thing."

He has never thought that they would cross paths one day. After all, there is a great different in status

between them, and they can't just be together because of love.

But later, he finds that she's an interesting and smart woman. She can figure out everything as long as

he inspires her and is just as excellent as him.

But sometimes when she gets emotional, she tends to do something as she wishes and causes many

problems.
