Chapter 23
Chapter 23 Public Opinion Shifts
Natalie left!
She left behind a document that shook the entire Verde City, overturning all the previous public opinions.
Verde City Entertainment News acted swiftly. Within two hours of Natalie boarding the plane, a headline reading The Johnson Family’s Young Madam Has Already Filed for Divorce‘ went viral on news sites in
Verde City.
The attached images included Natalie’s signed divorce agreement, the court receipt for her divorce filing, and a handwriting timestamp analysis, which showed that this had occurred before Isabella was
kidnapped.
As a result, the public who had previously condemned Natalie were now asking all kinds of questions.
How could a woman who had already filed for divorce be responsible for kidnapping her husband’s mistress or suing her husband for his unfaithfulness? Every step Natalie had taken seemed perfectly
han reasonable for a woman trying to protect her interests. Why would a person like that commit such
extreme act?
This caused people to start questioning Cedric’s private life. Was Isabella’s kidnapping the result of a rivalry between his many lovers?
Isabella and the Johnson family were suddenly thrust into the spotlight!
At his office, Cedric urgently halted all his work and repeatedly called Natalie’s phone. However, she had switched off her phone after hanging up earlier. The staff in Scarlet Villa also reported that she hadn’t
returned.
It was soon going to be nightfall.
Cedric had a gloomy expression on his face, and the air around him was chillingly cold. He wished he
could tear Natalie apart.
“Yuvan!”
Yes, Mr. Johnson.
Find her immediately.
How dare that woman?!:
How could she dare to do such a thing?
And those documents.. she actually dared!
At the hospital, Isabella had already removed the bandages covering her eyes when Christina arrived. The latter’s face changed instantly when she saw the former’s condition.
“You need to be careful,” Christina said, recognizing the critical situation they were in.
A pale Isabella asked, “How did this happen? Where is that woman now?”
Even Christina’s complexion looked bad now. Her previously meticulously styled curly hair now appeared
somewhat disheveled.
“How would I know?!”
Cedric, as well as people who worked for the Johnson family, were frantically searching for Natalie right
now.
Isabella’s eyes revealed a sinister and calculating look. Originally, they had prepared a big gift to give to
Natalie. But now, what was with the public opinion?!
Isabella had initially been in the position of a weak victim who garnered sympathy. But now, the public
was cursing her and Cedric.
The Johnson family was a traditional family that valued reputation. Although they had looked down on Natalie for all these years, her actions and achievements had somewhat improved their standing
“I underestimated her. I thought she would be in a frenzy by now. I didn’t expect her to be so clear– headed!
said Christina.
Natalie’s strategic move had dismantled all their well–planned steps.
Isabella glared at Christina. “Didn’t you say she would cling to your brother and wouldn’t leave him no matter what? Why is there a divorce agreement with her signature, along with a handwriting analysis?
She was obviously prepared!”
The timing of her signature was particularly damning, coinciding with the day Isabella was kidnapped. This alone was enough to overturn all their arguments.
From this perspective, either Natalle really didn’t want Cedric anymore, or she was being cautious. The former would be manageable, but it wouldn’t bode well for them if it was the latter.
Isabella thought about it, and so did Christina. They had planned for everything except Natalie signing the divorce agreement ahead of time.
“This is something I didn’t anticipate. NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.
Christina’s excuse sounded weak. Based on what she knew about Natalie, even while rumors about Cedric and Isabella were spreading over the past six months, her sister–in–law had always appeared unaffected. Whenever Natalie visited Johnson Manor, she remained gentle and composed.
Who would have thought she would suddenly change like this? She not only proposed a divorce, but had
done so proactively.
“So, what do we do now?” Isabella asked, her tone less than pleasant.
With her putting on an act of having a broken leg and faking blindness, the resulting pressure from the
public opinion was supposed to push Cedric into making some radical decisions. However, with the
change in public sentiment, they were now more afraid that Cedric might waver or discover something.
“I’ll return to the manor first and see how my mother responds. Natalie might even be there now!” Christina said after analyzing the situation.
Her goal was simple. She wanted to separate Cedric from Natalie. As for the current public opinion, shel didn’t care too much about it as long as it didn’t affect her directly.
However, Isabella was now in a difficult position.
When Cedric returned to Johnson Manor, both his mother’s and grandmother’s expressions were less than pleasant.
His grandmother, Elizabeth Stuart, was particularly upset.
“Look at this, Cedric! This is the woman you insisted on marrying back then. She has completely disgraced our family. Where is she?” said Elizabeth.
The entire Johnson family was fuming about Natalie and what she had done.
Cedric sat on the couch with a cold look on his face. Before coming here, he had dropped by Scarlet Villa Natalie wasn’t there, and her phone was now unreachable.
Cedi Did you hear your grandmother? Where is she?” Rebecca asked angrily when Cedric remained silent.
This time, the Johnson family couldn’t afford to let Natalle go. Even though she had initiated the divorce the Johnson family couldn’t just let her humiliate them.
Cedric looked at his mother, a cold smile forming on his l*ps. “If she comes, how will you handle it? Will you hit her again?”
“Y–you’re still deferiding her?” Rebecca, who was already upset, didn’t like Cedric’s tone.
Hearing Cedric’s words, she felt a momentary pang of guilt. But upon further thought, she realized that she wouldn’t feel satisfied even if she beat that woman to death now.
Cedric stood up and headed toward the exit.
When had this place, once known as ‘home‘, become so unfamiliar to him?!
