He kept staring at the screen till someone jolted him out of his trances. He turned and Claus was standing in front of him.

” Yeah? ” Shane asked him. ” The CEO of Maynard Enterprise is here to see you ” He announced. Shane let out a scoff as he dropped his cell phone.

” Bryan? Really? ” He asked unbelievably. Claus let out a nod. ” Yes sir ” He replied.

A playful smirk suddenly played on his lips. ” Let him in ” He finally said. Claus bowed a little before walking out of his office.

” Bryan Maynard… ” Shane muttered and suddenly chuckled.

Bryan Maynard is Shane’s business rival. They are neither friends nor enemy. Or let’s say they’re both.

The door suddenly pushed open and there he was. He had this smirk on as usual, and it’s the same with Shane. Shane watched as Bryan walked over to his desk and sat down on the chair, opposite him.

” Afternoon friend ” He finally said, stretching his hand forward for an handshake after settling himself down comfortably on the seat. ” It’s such an honor to have the great CEO of Maynard Enterprise here ” Shane said in a mocking voice ignoring Bryan’s hand that was hanged right in front of him.

Bryan chuckled and withdrew his hand. ” It’s also an honor to be here ” Bryan said with a sly smile on. Shane suddenly got serious. He stopped smiling and move his seat forward so Bryan could get a clear view of his face.

* What’d you want? ” He asked in a slightly cold voice. ” Come on dude, I came to pay an old friend a visit ” Bryan replied jokingly. He studied Shane’s expression and noticed he wasn’t really smiling.

Shane dropped his cold face, ” So, you’re telling me you came here for that? ” He asked with an unbelievable scoff and Bryan smiled before suddenly getting serious.

He dropped his smiling face and replaced it with a serious one. ” The contract Mr Lancaster is bidding with you is I want you to drop it, it should be given to my company instead ” Bryan said. Shane let out a chuckle and drew his seat impossibly closer to the desk.

” Oh really? ” He mocked but Bryan wasn’t really in the mood for that. ” I want that contract instead. All you have to do is reject it and they will come running to me ” He added further.

Shane let out a scoff, he moved his chair backwards and leaned on it. ” Well. Sorry to burst your bubble Bryan. I’m taking that deal ” He said and Bryan’s expression changed. It changed to an unreadable one. But one could notice he’s definitely boiling in anger at that moment.

His hands twisted into a fist under the desk. He suddenly stood up. ” Great then ” He muttered and stretched his hands forward again. ” Nice talking to you ” He said and Shane took a glance at his stretched hand.

He stood up and received his hands into his. ” Same here ” He replied with a visible smirk. Bryan was the first to let go of his hand and Shane did the same. With this, Bryan walked out of Shane’s office without looking back again.

He finally got out and Claus who was waiting outside together with Bryan’s guards bowed lightly. Bryan scoffed before walking away while his guards walked after him.

Claus inhaled softly before walking into Shane’s office. He met Shane whose gaze was back on his phone. Seems he wasn’t bothered about Bryan’s threat. Claus bowed lightly. ” Sir, is everything okay? ” He asked. Shane dropped his phone and raised his head to him.

” Why would you think I’m not okay? ” Shane asked. ” Sir… Bryan… ” He muttered. ” I’m not concerned about his bluffs. He only came here to negotiate or rather threaten me but I turned him down politely. I don’t think he should be bothered at all ” Shane replied.

” What’s his purpose of coming here? ” Claus asked confusedly.

” He’s trying to make me cancel the contract with Mr Lancaster. He needs it instead ” Shane explained and Claus let out a scoff. ” Unbelievable!. He’s such a cunning man. So, are you going to cancel the contract? ” Claus asked and Shane let out a little chuckle.

” Do you think I will?, You should answer that question yourself ” Shane replied and continued with whatever he was doing on his phone. ” Oh ” Claus replied when he got what he meant.

” Uh.. I’ll leave now ” He said with a bow. Shane nodded and he walked out of his office.

Shane let out a sigh, his fingers still drawing circles on Layla’s face on his phone. He couldn’t stop noticing the fact that she’s really pretty and her sleepy face is cute.

His gaze wouldn’t leave her tiny lips, he kept staring at them. His fingers moved to her lips and he rubbed on them slowly. He’s really missing her so badly. It’s been a week since he saw her last. That’s ever since he had brought her to his house when he rescued her from Allen. He hasn’t seen her since then and her face wouldn’t stop appearing on his head.

His phone rang and his eyes widened. ” M.. mom ” He muttered unbelievably. He clicked on the green button slowly and his mom’s face came into view.

” Mom ” He called. ” Aww… My little cutie ” She replied with a big smile on her face. Shane’s face spread into a smile. ” How are you doing mom? ” He asked with a big smile on.

” Aww… My son’s smiling widely. I’m glad Brielle’s taking really good care of you ” She said and Shane chuckled. ” Of course she is. How’s business mom, I hope you aren’t really stressing yourself? ” He asked and his mom nodded. ” I’m not ” She replied with a smile.

” How’s Brielle?, I hope she’s doing well? ” She asked further. ” Yeah she’s fine ” Shane replied but Mrs Kent couldn’t help but notice his reply was dry. ” Shane. Is everything going fine between you two? ” She asked and Shane released a sigh, looking away.

” Come on baby, you can tell me anything ” She urged him. ” See mom. I have to go… I’ll call you later ” He said instead and Mrs Kent smiled lightly. ” Alright baby. I’ll wait. I’ll wait till you’re ready to talk. Okay? ” She said and Shane nodded cutely with a smile.

*** Mocha Coffee Shop ***

” You really wanna see her so badly? ” Alec asked with a chuckle as they entered the coffee shop. Shane scoffed, ignoring his question and instead walked over to an empty seat. Alec sat on the same table with him, his seat opposite Shane’s.

” Have you seen her? ” Alec asked Shane who was looking around. ” No ” Shane shook his head. ” Thanks ” Shane said to the server as she dropped a tray containing their coffee on the table.

She smiled sheepishly, obviously blushing. Who wouldn’t do so?, It’s the handsome and famous Shane Kent we’re talking about at that moment.

” You’re welcome sir ” She said in a seductive voice before walking away, shaking her tiny ass vigorously as she walked away.

Other customers couldn’t take their eyes off Shane as they kept staring, the girls smiling dreamily while some were taking pictures of him. Within minutes, the coffee shop was filled with lots of peoples. They kept trooping in giving the servers a hard time in taking all their orders.

They weren’t really there for the coffee but for Shane. They wouldn’t stop taking secret pictures, some even recorded videos. The coffee shop owner smiled happily. He was making more than enough money all because of Shane. He couldn’t help but think that day was his lucky day and wouldn’t stop thanking his stars.

When the coffee shop couldn’t contain more people anymore, they locked the door and only attended to the customers inside. But that didn’t stop more people from surrounding the coffee shop, taking Shane’s pictures from outside. The coffee shop was a transparent and open one so they could see him clearly.

” We love you Shane ” They wouldn’t stop chanting.

” He’s so handsome ” The girls chant dreamily.

Layla and Mirah who was just coming back from school were more than shocked to see the great multitude surrounding their workplace.

” What’s going on? ” Shane asked one of the people in the crowds. ” A celebrity is in there ” The little boy replied. ” Celebrity? ” Layla asked and they continued their work. They were finally able to enter the coffee shop through a secret pathway. ” You girls should get dressed up. We have more than enough customers to attend to. Shane Kent is here ” The owner said, giving the girls more shock.

” Shane? ” Mirah called unbelievably and turned to look at Layla. She had the same look on.

They both rushed to where the customers were seated and coincidentally, Shane was also looking at that direction and the two’s face met.
