30 Days till I Divorce My Husband (Estrella and Jason)

Chapter 215

Listening to Kristin’s words, Jason slid off his wire-rimmed glasses and massaged his temples.

Kristin added, “Take some time to think about it. If you want to be with Estrella, you need to have a serious talk with her. But you must let go of the past completely, and truly accept her child as your own.”

Jason remained silent for a long moment before giving a noncommittal ‘hmm’ in

response.

Kristin, despite her tough love, felt a pang of remorse. It was her son, after all, and her maternal instincts tugged at her heartstrings. She patted Jason on the shoulder reassuringly and said, “Go home, son. Your Aunts and I have things covered here.”

With Kristin’s insistence, Jason finally agreed to leave.

Watching his retreating figure, Kristin called out, “Think it over when you get home.”

Jason waved without turning around and headed toward the elevator.

Alone in the hallway, Kristin sighed helplessly. She didn’t push Jason towards or away from divorce because she knew her son better than anyone else. His determination and choices were his own, and as his mother, all she could do was gently guide him on

critical matters.

It wasn’t until Jason’s silhouette had long disappeared from sight that Kristin turned to the hospital room.

Jason, hands in his pockets, stepped into the elevator without a word. He had accep Bryce’s account of events without question, not bothering to explain his side or spea how he nearly lost his life because of Estrella.

The next day, when Estrella heard that Keith from the Nelson family had been hospitaliz her thoughts immediately went to Jason and Bryce.

In the dining room, Estrella looked at Bryce and asked, “Is this about you or Jason?”

Jesse sat across from Estrella, feeding Isaac and keeping him entertained. Bryce replied nonchalantly, “I just told them what happened three years ago. The responsibility lies with

Jason.”

“Smart move,” Jesse said, giving Bryce a thumbs-up. “It’s important to set the record straight, so they don’t blame Estrella for having a child without considering what Jason

did.”

While Jesse spoke, Estrella covered Isaac’s ears with her hands.

Isaac, ever the obedient child, didn’t try to remove Estrella’s hands and simply watched Bryce and Jesse with a smile that crinkled his eyes into slits.

Jesse melted at the sight. “Estrella, your kid is too cute. Human toddlers are so much fun.” Estrella teased back, “Well, don’t just envy. Get a move on.”

“I’ve made up my mind. After the New Year, I’ll have a bunch myself,” Jesse declared.

Estrella nearly spit out her soup at Jesse’s remark, while Bryce raised his thumb in admiration, “You’ve got guts.” These women, each more capable of stirring up a storm

than the last.

After praising Jesse, Bryce added, “I think Jason might be starting to waver. I’ll add a little more fuel to the fire, and soon, Estrella, you’ll be free.”

Estrella smiled serenely, sensing that resolution was near.

After the meal, as Estrella drove home with Isaac, she spotted Kristin standing on the roadside not far from the Dorvolds’ place, beside a white Porsche, apparently waiting for her.

Slowing down, Estrella pulled over and got out. She asked in surprise. “Kristin, what are you doing here?” Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

“I was waiting for you,” Kristin said, her voice heavy with emotion. “Yesterday, I heard. some things from Bryce. I feel too ashamed to set foot in the Dorvold family to your parents.”

As Kristin finished speaking, Isaac opened the car window from the back seat and cheerfully called out, “Grandma.”

Isaac’s warmth and generosity matched Estrella’s perfectly.

At Isaac’s call, Kristin’s eyes welled up, and she responded with a firm “Hello!”

Kristin’s acknowledgment brought a smile to Estrella’s face. “What’s going on?” Estrella asked.

Kristin sighed and said, “Keith was hospitalized last night. He wants to see you and apologize on behalf of the Nelson family.”

“Tell Grandpa it’s not necessary. Besides, this is between Jason and me. We shouldn’t involve the rest of you.”

“The hurt you’ve suffered because of Jason is our fault for not raising him right. Estrella, could you please visit Grandpa? He might not make it through the year,” Kristin pleaded. “But don’t worry, we won’t pressure you about anything with Jason. We’ll stay out of it and respect your wishes.”

With no room left to refuse, especially given her long-standing relationship with the

non

Nelsons, Estrella agreed to visit Keith.

Setting aside the complicated relationship between her and Jason, it was only right for her to visit Keith when he was ill.

Exhaling softly, Estrella said, “Mom, Isaac’s still in the car. I’ll come by tomorrow, okay?”

“That’s fine. Just drop by whenever you’re ready.”

After finalizing their plans, Estrella said goodbye to Kristin, and as she got back into the car, Isaac waved and said, “Bye-bye, Grandma.

Kristin watched them drive away, feeling a bittersweet ache in her heart. How wonderful it would be if Isaac were her grandson..

It wasn’t until Estrella’s car vanished from view that Kristin got into her Porsche and drove

away.

True to her word, Estrella visited Keith the following afternoon after work.

In the hospital room, when Keith saw Estrella, he kept apologizing. He said that the Nelson family didn’t educate Jason well, leading her to suffer so much. He also mentioned that once he was discharged, he would personally come to apologize.

Estrella, listening to this, quickly interjected, “Grandpa, my mom doesn’t know about this, and besides, it’s in the past. There’s no need to bring it up again.”

She knew her mother, Autumn, would go ballistic if she found out about that accident all those years ago. Estrella had made up her mind to leave Jason, and she didn’t see the point in causing a big scene. Better to keep things quiet than to stir up more trouble and idle chatter.

Hearing Estrella’s unfazed response, and realising they’d only heard about the incident from Bryce, Keith sighed appreciatively, “Estrella, you really are the considerate one here Estrella chatted with Keith for a while. As she was about to say her goodbyes, Keith spok up, “Estrella, Jason feels terribly guilty about the child, and regarding your wish for a divorce, just give him some time to come to terms with it. He’ll see reason.”

Their families had been close for so many years, and Keith truly didn’t want to see the bond shatter.

“I understand, Grandpa,” Estrella replied. At this point, there was no use arguing with Jason anymore. She would just wait for him to come around, which she felt was going to be soon.

Jason wasn’t the kind of man who could let things slide or wear the cuckold’s horns without protest.

Just as Estrella had finished her promise, the door to the hospital room swung open once

more. She turned to look toward the entrance and saw Jason walking in..
