30 Days till I Divorce My Husband (Estrella and Jason)

Chapter 209

Isaac listened intently to Estrella’s instructions, his eyes fixed seriously on Kristin as he mustered all his strength to call out “Grandma. His voice rang out clear and strong, as if he’s afraid that it might not reach Kristin’s ears,

At the sound of “Grandma,” Kristin clutched her chest as if struck by an arrow. “Oh please, Estrella, make him stop. That’s not calling for Grandma. That’s stabbing me right in the heart. I swear, I’m going to keel over because of you two today.”

The title of Grandma was too much for Kristin to bear; Kristin feared that a few more calls from Isaac would shave years off her life.

Estrella barely held back her laughter at Kristin’s melodramatic reaction.

When Isaac saw Kristin gasping for breath, clutching her chest, he hugged Estrella’s neck tighter and cooed again, “Grandma.” NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

Kristin felt a pang in her heart at the sound, and watching Estrella with her kid was almost enough to bring her to tears.

Estrella was her daughter-in-law, but Estrella’s kid wasn’t her grand-son.

With one hand carrying Isaac, Estrella tried to offer some comfort, “Kristin, Jason is still young, and when he gets married in the future.

Kristin abruptly stopped her, “Estrella, your comforts are like a dagger in my side. Spare. me, or you’ll find me dead right here.”

Struggling to contain her mirth, Estrella covered Isaac’s mouth gently when he tried to “Grandma” again, shushing him softly.

Estrella was genuinely a bit worried at Kristin’s current state, fearing Kristin might faint from anger.

Seeing Estrella covering her mouth and gesturing for silence, Isaac immediately raised h hand, signaling to keep quiet.

Kristin looked up at the mother and son in front of her, observing their hushing gestures. Her heart ached at the sight. When Isaac solemnly shushed her, placing his tiny hand to his lips, Kristin’s heart ached even more, lamenting, “He should have been my grandson, and now I’ve lost that.”

Adopting Kristin’s mannerisms, Isaac also clutched his chest and cried out in mimicry, “Oh my!”

Kristin, feeling mocked, turned to Estrella in a mix of frustration and amusement, “Estrella, do

you see? He’s laughing at me.”

Estrella tried to explain, “Isaac’s not laughing at you. He adores you.”

“That makes it even worse,” Kristin protested, feeling the emotional weight of her

attachment to Isaac.

“Kristin, are you shopping alone?”

“Ma’am.” The maid had just come over from the bathroom side as Estrella finished speaking. Seeing Estrella here, cradling a child, the maid greeted her in surprise, “Ms. Estrella!”

Estrella nodded in acknowledgement and then turned her gaze back to Kristin. At this point, Kristin, looking utterly drained, had managed to stand up from her seat. She addressed Estrella saying, “Estrella, about your situation with Jason, you need to discuss it with him yourself!”

Estrella simply nodded again, and they chatted for a bit. Finally, an evidently disgruntled Kristin made her exit.

As Estrella watched Kristin trudge away, she let out a gentle sigh, resuming her playtime with Mia. It wasn’t long before Jesse arrived.

That evening, at the Nelson family estate, Jason was summoned home by Kristin. Upon entering, he found her brooding and rubbing her chest in the living room.

With a casual stance, hands in his pockets, Jason asked nonchalantly, “You wanted to see me, Mom?”

Kristin turned to face him with a solemn expression and dropped a bombshell, “Jason think you should call it quits with Estrella.”

Jason’s composure shifted at her unexpected suggestion. He moved closer, took a sea on the couch next to her, and asked with a cool clarity, “What’s happened?”

Kristin had always been a champion of his marriage to Estrella, encouraging him to hold fast even when times were tough. Her sudden change of heart was alarming.

When Jason settled onto a nearby couch, Kristin averted her gaze, “I bumped into Estrella at the department store today.”

Jason simply looked at Kristin, waiting until she had finished speaking before he asked, “And then what happened?”

Prompted by Jason’s query, Kristin continued, I feel you and Estrella might not be the best match. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be in this rut for so many years without any notable progress. Maybe it’s time to let go. After all, Estrella isn’t getting any younger.”

The last time Autumn had approached her, Kristin had attempted to persuade Jason, but he hadn’t capitulated. Ironically, she found herself siding with her son, despite her objections. However, seeing Estrella and her child today, reality hit Kristin hard. It cracked her resolve and left her feeling vulnerable. Maybe they were just not meant to be.

Nonetheless, out of deference for Jason’s dignity as a man, Kristin refrained from

mentioning the child. In her heart, Kristin suspected that Landon was likely aware of the child’s existence, but chose to remain silent.

However, Jason, ever the picture of calm, nonchalantly replied, “Good things come to

those who wait.”

Kristin stood a little taller, her spine straightening with resolve as she listened to his obstinance. “Jason, Estrella made it clear. If you get the paperwork done before the end of the year, she won’t touch a dime of the Nelson family fortune. She won’t ask for anything from you.”

Jason let out a wry chuckle. “So, Mom, you think my hesitation to sign the divorce papers is because I’m afraid she’ll take half of my assets?” He continued, with a playful edge to his voice, “If that’s what you think, then let’s go with that. I don’t want a divorce because I don’t want to split my wealth.” He had been at a loss for excuses to hold on, but Landon’s meddling had inadvertently handed him one.

Sensing Jason’s stubborn refusal to see reason, Kristin’s brows knotted in frustration. Finally, she burst out in exasperation, “What’s it going to take to get through to you, kid? Why are you so set on butting your head against a brick wall? Do I need to spell it out for you? Estrella has a child now. She’s moved on with her life. Is that what it takes for you to let go?”

She hadn’t wanted to bring up the child, but her son was just too headstrong.

Hearing that Estrella had a child, and she had started a new chapter in her life, Jason’s expression shifted dramatically. He stared at Kristin, his gaze piercing, for a long mo before finally asking, “Mom, what did you just say?”
