30 Days till I Divorce My Husband (Estrella and Jason)

Chapter 206

Landon didn’t respond to Estrella’s skepticism. Instead he simply stated, “Estrella, if you really don’t want to stay with Jason, I won’t force you. But joining the Nelson family wasn’t for nothing. We won’t let you walk away empty-handed.”

“If you and Jason divorce, you’ll get half of the Nelson family’s fortune and shares in Nelson International.”

Estrella dismissed the offer with a wave of her hand. “That’s not necessary.”

Half of the Nelson fortune was at stake. Would Jason even consider letting her go then? Forget it. She would rather forgo that little advantage than stay tied to a marriage she wanted out of.

The “little advantage” Estrella was dismissing was worth at least several billion, if not upwards of ten billion. Any other girl would probably faint at the thought.

Landon was firm. “It’s what you deserve.”

Estrella replied, “If you can convince Jason, I have no problem with it.” If Landon insisted on giving her the money, she might as well accept it.

Landon suggested, “Estrella, you’re planning to head back, right? I’ll have you driven home.”

“I drove here myself. It’ll be easier for me to drive back.”

Estrella wished to return on her own, and Landon didn’t press further.

When Estrella got out of the car and the driver got in, Landon gazed at Estrella with a touch of melancholy for a while before instructing the driver to start the car and leave

Watching Landon drive away, Estrella’s doubts only grew. Landon hadn’t just avoided answering her probing; he was even ready to give her half of the Nelson estate. No mat how generous he was, that was half of what the Nelsons had built over generations.

Even though Jason hadn’t been a great husband during their time together, Landon surely wouldn’t need to give up so much of his fortune. It was as if she were his own flesh and

blood.

It wasn’t until the black Rolls Royce vanished from sight that Estrella returned to her BMW

and drove off.

Back at the Nelson family mansion, Kristin learned that Landon hadn’t convinced Estrella and had even promised to give her half of the estate. She immediately called Jason.

Upon hearing Kristin’s report, Jason chuckled, ‘Mom, tell Estrella that if she won’t divorce, I’ll give her all of Nelson International.”

Although he appeared calm on the surface, Jason was far from pleased inside. What kind

of father was this? Instead of encouraging reconciliation, he was offering Estrella a fortune just to leave.

Most parents would play matchmaker, yet his seemed to be doing the opposite.

Kristin was stunned by Jason’s words. After a long pause, she asked incredulously, “Son, you’re not just saying that out of anger, are you?”

She had expected Jason to be furious with Landon, but instead, he was not only. unbothered but also willing to give Estrella everything if she chose not to leave. It seemed he truly didn’t want the divorce.

On the other end of the line, Jason calmly stated, “That’s the truth.”

For years, he hadn’t spent money on Estrella, because her family was rich, and flaunting wealth in front of her was like performing monkey tricks. No matter if it was millions or billions, Estrella wouldn’t bat an eyelid.

To sway her, he would have to offer his entire fortune. And what she desired was something far more valuable than money.

Kristin shared sympathetically, “But Jason, even if you’re sincere, it’s useless now. Estrella has already said that she fears you won’t agree to split the money, so she won’t take a cent. She just wants the divorce.”

Jason nearly choked on those words. He had known it. Trying to impress Estrella with wealth was like playing circus tricks in front of her.

After being stumped by Kristin’s comment, Jason hung up the phone with a scowl.

At the Nelson family mansion, Kristin sighed helplessly as Jason hung up the phone. had always told him to be nicer to Estrella, warning that once a woman’s heart was broken, no words or actions could mend it. Now her words had come true. Estrella was adamant about the divorce.

After hanging up, Jason, riddled with dejection grabbed a cigarette and lighter from the side table and lit up.

Damn it, she was becoming colder by the minute. Even his father’s intervention couldn’t sway her.

Jason felt better today and was at the hospital for a follow-up injection. Sitting on the hospital room’s couch, Jason browsed through documents with one hand while the other received the IV drip.

Every time he thought of Estrella, his expression darkened. The more she pushed for divorce, the less he wanted to let her go.

Landon had never mentioned a word about Isaac, not even to Kristin.

When two bags of IV fluids were almost finished, the door to Jason’s hospital room.

suddenly swung open. Jason looked up, only to see Holly standing in front of him. He seemed a bit disappointed.

“Jason,” Holly greeted with a smile, walking towards him.

As she sat down, Jason said dispassionately, “I’m fine, Holly. You don’t need to come anymore.” He had told Holly numerous times that she didn’t need to visit him, but she

refused to listen.

Hearing Jason’s words, a chuckle escaping her lips. “I didn’t have anything pressing, so I thought I’d just swing by.”

Jason responded with nonchalance, “Estrella might not take kindly to that.”

The mention of Estrella caused a visible shift in Holly’s demeanor, and it was clear she grasped his implication. He was wary of Estrella getting the wrong idea.

As Jason flipped through some documents, he caught Holly’s silent gaze from the corner of his eye. “I care a lot about what Estrella thinks of me,” he admitted, not wanting to foster any misunderstandings. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Setting aside the paperwork, Jason locked eyes with Holly, his expression resolute.

Indeed, when Holly had just returned, out of old times’ sake, he’d met up with her a few times. But those encounters were strictly platonic, and both he and Holly had made their boundaries clear.

However, Holly seemed to play the fool, clinging to some unfounded hope.

In that moment of candor, Holly’s lips curved into a slow smile before she spoke. “Ja you and Estrella have known each other for over two decades. Haven’t we had the sa amount of time together? Just because you’re with Estrella now, does that mean you have to ditch the rest of the friends you’ve grown up with?”

Since the day Estrella was born, she had known Jason, and wasn’t that the same for Holly?

Holly indeed had nearly three decades of acquaintance with Jason and had known Estrella for 26 years. Holly remembered the day Estrella was brought home from the hospital. Her mother had taken her to visit the Dorvold family that very

day.

Serene had grown up alongside them as well, though her father’s job as a chauffeur meant she wasn’t fully woven into the fabric of their lives.

As a child, Holly had harbored some resentment towards Estrella. Estrella’s agreeable nature always seemed to make her the more popular one. So, Holly wasn’t particularly close to Estrella. Instead, Holly

had bonded more with the daughters of a few other families in their circle, while Estrella had always been closest with Jesse and Bryce.
