Chapter 155
He would never get a chance to see Lexi, and even if he did, Lexi would have still insisted on getting a divorce.
Before, Lexi was under his thumb, scared for the safety of her parents and little sister, but now that he was going to be behind bars for 28 years, Nick can’t touch her. He’s got no leverage left.
Nick’s case had been an eye-opener for Estrella. She couldn’t fathom how he had the gall to refuse a divorce, let alone demand to see Lexi.
Zoey climbed into the passenger seat, her features etched with worry. “Estrella, did Nick sign the papers?”
Nick was a narrow-minded man, and Zoey feared that even at this low point, he’d try to drag her sister down with him, and to hold onto her for a lifetime out of spite. He was the type who’d do such a thing.
Estrella handed over the signed agreement. “He did.” She didn’t even bring up Nick’s request to see Lexi. A man like him didn’t deserve the chance, or a wife.
Spotting Nick’s signature on the divorce agreement, Zoey tightly hugged Estrella, saying, “Estrella, thank you. If it weren’t for you, I don’t know what we would have done. Nick might still be out there, living the high life.”
As Estrella started the car, she offered a comforting thought. “Justice has a way of catching up. There’s no erasing the things you’ve done.” Then she drove Zoey to the hospital and accompanied her up to Lexi’s room.
“Ms. Estrella,” Lexi greeted warmly, attempting to rise from her bed.
“Stay on the bed, Lexi” Estrella insisted, gently urging Lexi to stay put.
Zoey chimed in with a smile, “Nick signed. Estrella says we just need to make a trip city hall to finalize everything.”
Holding Estrella’s hands, Lexi’s eyes watered with gratitude. “Ms. Estrella, I can’t than enough.”
Estrella adjusted the hospital bed to make Lexi more comfortable. “Lexi, it’s all part of th job.”
As Lexi fought back tears, Estrella sat down beside her, urging, “Lexi, whether it’s making friends or getting married, be sure to keep your eyes open and choose wisely.”
Lexi nodded, her resolve clear in her tearful eyes.
After spending some time with Lexi, Estrella took her leave as Jeffery and Haley arrived.
Zoey walked Estrella down to the garden..Noticing Estrella’s discomfort, she whispered,

“Estrella, are you pregnant?”
Estrella didn’t confirm but replied with a smile, I’ll let you know if I ever become a mother.” At that, Zoey’s eyes widened with joy, looking forward to celebrating Estrella’s good news.
As they reached the parking lot, Estrella got into her car, and Zoey waved her off, watching the Audi disappear before heading back to the hospital.
Inside the car, Estrella glanced at her stomach and then pulled over to take her vitamins with a swig of milk. She had been eating more regularly and healthily these past few days.
Later that evening, Jesse joined her for dinner since Jason was occupied with his own engagements.
When they called Bryce, he was still busy. It wasn’t until after 8 o’clock in the evening, after Estrella and Jesse had finished their dinner, that Bryce finally returned the call. “Estrella.”
On the other end, Estrella inquired, “Bryce, hows the lead on that Maserati I asked you about?”
“Got it,” came Bryce’s response, adding, “Estrella, you need to swing by Velvet Voices KTV right away. I’ve got urgent news for you, and then we can talk more about that Maserati
t
later.”
Estrella hesitated, but Bryce’s pleading and promises convinced her to head over with
Jesse.
Velvet Voices KTV was Ravenwood’s most upscale karaoke club, known for its high-quality crowd and ‘entertainers.’
Jesse drove them there in her Maserati, and upon arriving, Bryce was eagerly awaiting
them.
As they approached, Bryce immediately hooked an arm around Estrella and began “Estrella, Jason’s at it again. As soon as I got here, I saw him, surrounded by a crow to no good. And that Serene is with them.”
Estrella realized then why Bryce insisted on her coming. It was to catch Jason in the a Estrella hadn’t done that in ages.
Bryce was fuming as he ratted out Jason, saying, “Look, Jason’s car is parked right over there. They’re chilling in the VIP Lounge number 888.” All content is © N0velDrama.Org.
Bryce had initially wanted to book the VIP Lounge 888 himself, but when Jason showed up, he had to settle for Lounge 777 instead. So when it came to snitching on Jason, Bryce didn’t hold back at all.
Jesse quipped, “If you’re not running with those dirty thoughts, what are you doing here as

well, man?”
Bryce replied with a look of mock indignation, I’m here for a bros’ night out. There’s not a single lady in our lounge. Of course, that’ll change when you two show up, but you guys hardly count, you’re dudes, just like me.”
After Bryce finished, Estrella and Jesse grabbed him and gave him a good ribbing. Bryce, shielding his face, pleaded, “Not the face, guys I’ve got to make a living with this
handsome mug.”
After roughhousing Bryce a bit, they let him straighten his clothes as he continued, “Estrella, it’s not that I can’t stand to see you with Jason; it’s just that he’s really not cut out for the domestic life. You should seriously consider getting that divorce sooner rather than later. If he decides to call it quits first
come next year, it’s going to be a massive blow to your pride. So, let’s not wait around for that to happen and give him the boot first.”
Bryce’s words hung in the air as Estrella glanced towards the parking lot where, indeed, Jason’s car was unmistakably parked.
